Free Human Towers Rehearsal + Social (Sunday)
Sunday rehearsal with Castellers of London. Meet us at the OBC Community Centre to help build human towers!
This get together is a great opportunity for you to meet new friends, socialise and have a go and explore your abilities as a human tower builder a.k.a Casteller!
For newcomers we have a team of trained Castellers who will introduce you to the group, guide you through the activity and help you safely take part in this unique Catalan tradition.
When you arrive just approach us as we are really friendly! If in doubt ask for Cuss! Please let us know if you are bringing guests.
After the rehearsal we go to a nearby pub for social drinks where everyone is welcome :)
What do you need?
1. Ideally a cotton shirt: to protect your neck and shoulders, the more durable the shirt/top the better. We do not recommend any thin items of clothing!
2. Jeans: allowing you to move freely without breaking.
3. Mask: We still require the use of a mask as you will be very close to your fellow Castellers - basically you will be hugging people!
The rest of the equipment is on us!
We take health and safety very seriously, both in relation to COVID-19 and also the activity- please be assured that the safety of all participants is of the utmost importance to us and we take all necessary precautions to minimize the risk, ensuring we all have a great time!
Our regular members won't be filling in the Meet Up to say they are going 🙂
So don't be put off if you see only a handful have said they are going.
A minimum of 25 on the day is normal. What the Meet Up may show is how many new people like yourself are going.

New Year's Democracy Walk 👣✨
Start as you mean to go on - join us for ANTIPARTY's first community event of 2026 - a guided democracy-themed walk!
We start at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on Parliament Square - Gandhi viewed democracy as empowerment of the weak, not just mechanical systems or majority rule, which requires inner change and discipline with an emphasis on individual conscience.
Throughout the day we will journey through the history of democracy that deserves to be remembered - from the Chartists to the Suffragettes, viewing famous monuments as well as learning about those less well-known.
Come for an enlightening experience guided by Isabella Roberts the Founder of ANTIPARTY and feel free to bring a friend!
Perhaps you'll be inspired, find out about something you never knew before, or at the very least walk off some of the indulgences of the festive season.
Spaces are limited so [RSVP for your spot](https://luma.com/q6zaycfy) today - we're looking forward to seeing you soon! 👣✨
đź“–Offline Women Book Club
Join the **Offline Women Book Club,** a dedicated space for women to disconnect from the digital noise and discuss in person uplifting books that leave us feeling inspired and empowered.
For our kick-off, we are reading ***Braving the Wilderness* by Brené Brown**. In this book, Brown challenges what we think we know about belonging.
She argues that true belonging isn’t something we negotiate with external groups, but something we carry in our hearts. It’s a powerful guide on finding the courage to stand alone when necessary and how to remain kind and connected in a world that can feel increasingly divided.
We can't wait to see how the book resonate with you and to engage in uplifting discussions. Spots are limited to ensure the group remains small, intimate, and everyone has a great time connecting face-to-face.
Thank you to Angie, one of our amazing members, for suggesting and supporting the start of this Book Club! đź’ź

Coffee Chats: Have The Young (20s) Become Really Boring?
Time is precious. Here we value non-boring valuable chats and interactions that are fully engaging, soulfully enriching, inspiring, and leave you a bit wiser than when you arrived. In that spirit, today’s hosted laid back social coffee chat will offer a perfect haven for the inquisitive & curious to share views on the following intriguing observation.
Growing up in the west, Friday and Saturday nights meant going out with your mates for fun to enjoy music, dancing, drinking, eating, comedy, singing, fun silly moments and random conversations with strangers. Taking drugs even. Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings was for doing the same stuff but with work collegues hence the workplace use to be a great place to make new lifelong friends. Weekend daytimes were for doing healthy but social stuff like playing sports, pub lunches, visting galleries/museums, theatre and watching movies together at the Cinema or around a mate's house.
Fast‑forward 2026 - it feels like everything changed: Despite public transport running all night (it wasn't when I was in my teens/early 20s yet my peer group stayed out late most weekends) - on a Sat night "young" people head home at 10pm, skip the dance floor for board games in the pub, avoid bar banter, jokes and rarely engage in organic spontaneous chats with strangers. Whatsmore the stats are wild — data show virginity rates among men hitting record highs by age 30, social anxiety and social skills off-the charts. So what's happened?
We’ll explore questions like:
* Is this just nostalgia talking, or has something genuinely shifted?
* Why has typical multi generational fun pastimes (1950s to 2010s) lost its spark for the 20‑somethings?
* How much does health, economics, mobile phones, social media and gaming explain the trend?
* Are certain professions (like tech/IT) changing the social landscape, or just attracting already‑very introverted people?
* Why are some stats so **contradictory**? Think higher reported male virginity rates by 30 alongside rising STI rates in young people. Despite tanking alcohol sales - UK alcohol related death rates per capita are still rising. What's going on?
* Target audience demographics for commericial music radio stations (Capital, Kiss etc) is still 18 to 24 suggesting young people still consume music and other popular culture but are not going out to enjoy it. Why?
* Is it harder for younger people to make genuine friends today and if so why?
* Dancing is natural to all of us - every kid moves instinctively to music. So beyond a less joyous social life what happens when these innate behaviours get suppressed as adults? What has this healthy exercise and creative expression been replaced with?
* AI is predicted to take over technical job and tasks - the most future‑proof skills will be things like interpersonal skills & emotional intelligence built through real‑world socialising. Employers already complain that young people lack these skills. How will they get non-AI jobs?
* Levels of emotional intelligence and self-awareness - particularly amongst men - are at an all time low. Wiill social anxiety worsen further as the introversion trend accelerates?
* What does all this mean for dating, relationships, and starting families?
Expect lively debate, sharp humour, and a host (a former news journalist) that isn’t afraid to ask awkward questions. Bring your curiosity, your stories, and your caffeine tolerance — we’ll stir the coffee pot on whether the young have really become more boring or have they’re just discovered new fun activities - if so what are they? And if you are in your 20s - I would love to hear your views!

Self-Love: Confidence Through Expression
Confidence can be cultivated in many ways—through reflection, conversation, creativity, and practice. In this Confidence Lab session, we’ll explore one powerful pathway: **building confidence from the inside out through physical expression and movement**.
This experience is designed to help you reconnect with your body as a source of insight, self-trust, and presence. We’ll begin by grounding into what’s bringing you here, creating space to notice how your body is showing up and what it’s holding. From there, you’ll be guided through accessible movement exercises that invite awareness and choice—isolating different parts of the body, experimenting with movement, and practicing what it feels like to take up space intentionally.
Next, you’ll participate in a small-group dance lesson led in a supportive, low-pressure environment. No dance experience is needed. The focus is not on performance or perfection, but on expression, curiosity, and allowing yourself to move with confidence as you are.
We’ll close with a reflective group discussion, exploring what emerged during the experience and how these insights can be applied beyond the studio—how you inhabit your body, how you carry yourself, and how you show up in everyday life.
**What to know:**
* Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you feel good moving in
* No dance experience required
* Light snacks and beverages will be provided
This session is for anyone interested in deepening their relationship with confidence by listening to their body, expanding their capacity for self-expression, and practicing self-love as an embodied experience.

Powell Gold Star Referral Club Meetup
We meet at lunch each week and each meeting follows a fairly organized agenda. First all participants pass their business cards around. Then each member and guest is invited to give a one-minute overview of their company and what is a perfect referral for the week. We always have a 10 minute presentation from one of the members about their business in more detail. And finally we pass referrals. You're welcome to visit. Nobody is ever put on the spot. Bring plenty of cards!
Men's Group meetup
**The idea for this group is to build a community where men can gather together and build connections & learn and grow from each other.**
How we start each meeting is by each of us checking in with our "roses and thorns" aka what are the good things and the bad things going on in your life recently?
Then we will go into a topic discussion.
