We know these group rules won’t suit everybody, and that’s okay—there are many other groups where you might feel more at home. To keep things safe, fun, and positive, we have 8 simple rules for people attending our events. Over the past 9 years, we’ve removed 342 people (around 0.8%) for breaking them—so please read carefully! ❌ Not a dating group! – We’re here to make connections, not find soulmates. 📵 No phone numbers, please! – Feel free to swap LinkedIn if both parties are cool with it, but please don’t share or ask for phone numbers. Please don’t add people to WhatsApp or other groups. 🔞 Our events are only open to people aged 18 and older. 📢 Please do not advertise other events or groups. 🚗 We don't allow carpooling due to safety incidents/our public liability insurance not covering motor related accidents. 💰 **No sales pitches! – No selling, no MLMs, no pyramid schemes, no “life-changing mentorship” offers—let’s keep things scam-free.** By joining an event, you agree to follow these rules. Breaking them means removal from all our groups—no exceptions. Meetup in the Park: Minimal living and Tiny Home Living
Meetup in the Park: Minimal living and Tiny Home Living
**About this event:** Have you been dreaming of going tiny? Are you curious about minimal living, off-grid setups, or just downsizing your life in Victoria? You are not alone! We are launching a new community for enthusiasts to connect, share stories, and support one another. (Please book ticket in EventBrite [here](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/monthly-minimal-living-meetup-tiny-home-tickets-1983064391979?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl) ) Imagine a life with less clutter, less debt, and more freedom. We are building a community in Victoria for those who want to step away from the traditional housing market and embrace tiny homes and minimal living. For our first-ever meetup, we are keeping it simple. We’ll meet in the park to introduce ourselves and discuss what we want to create together. Whether you want to talk about the technical side (trailers, solar, regulations) or the lifestyle side (downsizing, remote work), this is the place to start. Come along, make new friends, and let’s talk about how to make big dreams happen in tiny spaces. Please book your ticket https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/monthly-minimal-living-meetup-tiny-home-tickets-1983064391979?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl **What to expect:** This is a strictly casual, unstructured meetup. No presentations, no sales pitches, and no pressure. Just a relaxed afternoon in the park with like-minded people. We’re simply gathering to discuss: * Who is already living the tiny life? * Who is dreaming/planning? * What are the local hurdles (council rules, finding land, etc.)? * How can we support each other? **Who should come:** Whether you have your tiny house plans drawn up, you're already living in one, or you just watched a documentary and thought "I could do that"—you are welcome here. **What to bring:** * A camping chair or picnic rug. * Your own snacks/drinks. * Sun protection (or an umbrella—it is Melbourne/Victoria after all!). **About Your Host** Hi, I’m Karen. After exploring over 50 countries, I’ve chosen Melbourne as my home. As an entrepreneur, I’ve come to realize that we don't need much to be truly happy. In fact, nature provides us with so many "free luxuries"—from sunlight to green spaces—that we often overlook in the modern world. I am channeling this philosophy into building my own tiny home in Victoria this year. I started this group because I realized that while the tiny house movement is growing, the journey can feel a bit lonely. I want to build a supportive local community where we can share resources, untangle the regulations, and help each other turn these small dreams into reality. * **Wet Weather Plan:** (e.g., "If it rains, we will move to a cafe close by.")
Monthly Social in the Northern Suburbs - Moon Dog - Preston
Monthly Social in the Northern Suburbs - Moon Dog - Preston
Our monthly Northern social is held at Moon Dog World in Preston. Moon Dog World is a brewery, restaurant and bar with a lagoon, waterfall, hidden tiki bar and much more! Atmosphere is on the family restaurant side (dogs and kids a plenty!) but still a fun tropical style environment. Food is better than standard pub fare with exotic flavours and generous serves. Fun for pretty much everyone, so come along and enjoy it with us. Do you live in the Northern or perhaps even the Western suburbs and are interested in catching-up with like minded people? Come along for dinner and meet some friendly people. Our group is informal and open to all. We pay for own food and drinks individually and there is no charge for the organisation of the events. It is a great opportunity to meet others with an emphasis on fun and supporting each other. So whether you choose to come at the start for dinner or later on for drinks, we hope to see you. If something comes up and you can no longer make it, then you can easy change your RSVP to not going. I am looking forward to catching up with those who can make it, Chris

Monthly Minimalist Meetup (Swap, Declutter & Donate)
Monthly Minimalist Meetup (Swap, Declutter & Donate)
Hello Minimalists! For our March meetup we will discuss goal setting and share thoughts about practical steps to achieve our goals. Same as usual, if you have stuff to declutter, bring it around and see if anyone could give it a new home. Anything left over we can donate it at the op-shop after we are done at the cafe. Looking forward to chatting about what's been going well in our minimalist journeys and share tips and tricks! P.S. We are moving away from Meetup to a email list group so we will be collecting email addresses for a future without Meetup!

Please note the new bank details. BSB 013125 Account 150808654 Please let me know once payment is made. PLEASE USE YOUR NAME AND VENUE AS YOUR REFERENCE. Please only RSVP to an event if you fully intend to show. Pulling out of a dinner or another booked event (with a venue) on the day is a kick in the teeth for both the venue and the organiser. I understand there are instances where this is unavoidable, but you are short changing the venue on the revenue they are reliant upon, especially when it comes to paying their staff. It may be too late to rebook those tables with other patrons. Not to mention the stress this puts the organisers under. Please be considerate.

Columbus: A Study In Psalms--Psalm 3 and 4
Columbus: A Study In Psalms--Psalm 3 and 4
Most people would agree that a great night's sleep is one of the sweetest experiences in life. Crawling into a wonderfully comfortable bed, drifting off to peaceful slumber, and awaking, feeling refreshed, energized, and ready for the day is a gift everyone welcomes. Unfortunately, nights of perfect sleep and restfulness can seem scarce. Particularly, during the truly hard times in life, good sleep can seem an impossibility. The ancient shepherd-crowned-king, David, knew more than the average person about the challenge of getting a good night's sleep in the midst of being falsely maligned, hunted by enemies, and attacked by those who wanted him dead. He understood the terror of running for his life, and having thousands call for his death. What was his answer? Where could a man on the run find peace? What hope was there for a person in such circumstances? David's hope and peace were found in the One Who he knew was Perfect Truth, Justice, Mercy, and Grace, the God Who had delivered His people before and Who would do so again, and again, and again. Because of God's provision David twice details that even in the midst of his enemies, he would "lie down and sleep, and wake again." Psalm 3 and 4 point us to the hope in which those who follow after the Lord can be confident--that from the Lord comes deliverance. Register HERE 🎟️- https://www.eventbrite.com/e/unlocking-retirement-capital-flips-wholesales-private-money-strategies-tickets-1983411263481?aff=cicmeetupapp **Unlocking Retirement Capital: Flips, Wholesales & Private Money Strategies in Self-Directed Accounts** **Featuring Guest Speaker:** Amanda Holbrook (Specialized Trust Company) **Hosted by:** Columbus Investors Club ### **Event Description** Most people think retirement accounts are passive. That they’re “for later.”That you can’t touch them. That real estate and retirement money don’t mix. They’re wrong. This meetup is about how investors use **Self-Directed IRAs and Solo 401(k)s** to put retirement capital to work…**buying real estate, funding deals, and even raising private money** (the right way). ### **Featured Guest Speaker: Amanda Holbrook** We’re excited to welcome **Amanda Holbrook of Specialized Trust Company** to break this down clearly and practically…so you understand what’s allowed, how it works, and what to avoid. ### **What You’ll Learn** Amanda will walk through: **Flip inside a Self-Directed IRA or Solo-401(k)** * How to structure the deal correctly * How expenses must be handled * When UBIT may apply **Wholesale within a retirement account** * How assignments work * What type of income it creates **Use OPM (Other People’s Money) to scale** * How investors raise private money from Self-Directed IRAs * How to structure notes properly * How to fund deals inside **and** outside your own retirement account ### **The Core Idea** There is a lot of capital sitting in retirement accounts. This session shows you how real estate investors unlock it **without guessing, winging it, or accidentally creating a compliance mess.** ### **Who This Event Is For** * Investors flipping or wholesaling who want to understand self-directed rules * Anyone raising private money (or wanting more capital sources) * People with retirement funds who want them working harder than stocks/mutual funds ### **Event Details** **Location:** Ohio Brewing Company – 421 E 2nd Ave, Columbus, OH 43201 **Date & Time:** Thursday, March 26th, 6–8 PM *(Doors open at 5:30)* **Cost:** Free *(Seats are limited — RSVP required)* **Food:** Free food included **FREE meetup.
