The Arlingtones Barbershop Chorus wants to help you get the most beautiful sound possible from your voice with the confidence to perform. We love to sing – that’s why we do it and have for over 60 years. Join us for a Tuesday evening and we'll show you what Barbershop Music is all about. No experience or materials necessary.

Do not bring a pedal board with a bunch of pedals. The amps are dialed in for blues, trust me it's all there. Drums are here already, very basic kit. If you want to bring cymbals or any other drum gear, please show up early to set up. Also please be aware that other people are going to play the kit as well.

Hello piano players: Our next meeting will take place on Sunday, June 21 from 1:00 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the home of Jerry Butters at 5910 Cromwell Drive in Bethesda, just a few blocks from my house. There is ample street parking within a block or two of his house. Thank you for hosting, Jerry! Jerry will open his door at 12:30 if you would like to warm up on his piano. It is a Steinway C, made in Hamburg, Germany. It is in a small music room but adjoins another room where there is overflow seating available. Also, reach out to a friend and work up a duet—they are fun and always welcome. In the past we have had duets with two pianos, with singers and with the clarinet. They bring a nice variety of music to our meetings. It would be nice to expand to string instruments as well. We will have snacks, finger food, and light drinks, but your donations of food and drink are always welcome. We hope you can attend on the 21st. Jerry is looking forward to hosting. The topic for June is "Roadtrip" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills.
