Hello Meeples!!!! I host board game night every Thursday at Face to Face Games, located at 1398 Danforth Ave (about a 3 min walk from Greenwood station, or a 7 min walk from Coxwell station)! How it works I’ll be seated at the table at the very back right-hand corner of Face to Face Games (near the washrooms). We usually have 2 tables reserved for our group. (If you can’t find us, ask one of the staff members.) I’ll bring a variety of games from my own collection to board game night, but attendees are free to bring any of their own games as well! Got a brand new game you’ve been dying to play but never have enough players? Bring it along! Got a retro game that you think is a hidden gem? Bring it along and spread the joy! I usually come early at around 4:30pm. If there are other attendees who also arrive early, then we can play some shorter games until 6pm. Six o’clock is when the event officially starts and is when most attendees start trickling in. Once we have most people assembled, we collectively decide which games we want to play and split into groups accordingly. We usually have one group tackling a heavy board game (ie. a game that tends to be more complex and takes longer to finish) while the others play short to medium-length games, but this is very flexible and will depend on turnout and the kinds of games people bring. If you can only get here later or if you arrive late, don’t fret. We’ll see what game you can join so that you can get playing as soon as possible! Rules of the Tables: We are a cool and relaxed group - we swear! But to ensure things run smoothly and that everyone is having fun, we do some some rules we would like attendees to follow: \- Please be respectful of people’s games and property\. For example\, if you’re having a snack \(please share\!\)\, make sure your fingers are clean before you handle cards\, mats\, meeples\, and the like\. People are generous to bring their games to board game night\, so we want to be mindful not to damage or dirty their stuff\. \- Please be mindful of your cellphone usage during the game\. Of course this doesn’t mean you can’t use your cellphone to shoot a quick text message or to check something quickly \- we’re not monsters\! Do you love performing for live audiences? The Toronto Accolades Chorus brings women-centric singers together to sing and perform a cappella harmony. Harmony connects people from all backgrounds, ages, and musical abilities to create a community where you can not only sing, but find a space to connect with other strong and dedicated people just like you. For decades, we've provided a venue for singers to express themselves, make quality music together, and form bonds beyond measure, and we invite you to join us for the ride. We welcome guests and work with them to find out their voice range and to determine what part (lead, tenor, baritone or bass) they would sing best. Guests are given a music folder and encouraged to participate in singing with the chorus in subsequent weeks. Although we continually strive for musical excellence, prior musical training is not necessary to belong to our chorus. We provide everyone with sheet music, audio learning tracks, education and guidance. The Alliance is part of the Greater Central Ohio Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We are an all-voices chorus dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all those who love to sing, regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation or musical background.
