Petersfield to Liphook - Hampshire's delights
**SUMMARY (all info is approximate!)**
**Distance**: 21km (13 miles)
**Duration**: 6-7 hours walking
**Grade**: Moderate
**HIGHLIGHTS**
* great views from Shoulder of Mutton Hill
* forests coming into bloom
* bluebells, spring flowers
* forlorn paths
* weird and wonderful moreland on Longmore Common
* Sussex Border Path & budding rhododendrons,
* country pubs for refreshments.
We'll start our walk in Petersfield and head north to follow part of the 34 km (21 mile) Hangers Way - a long distance path less travelled within an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The countryside around here is unspoilt and forlorn, and we'll meet only a few locals out for a walk with their dogs. In our first hour, we will be rewarded with fantastic views from Shoulder of Mutton Hill as we continue through forested slopes and over open fields towards Liss and then onto Liphook via a nice lunchtime pub stop (for drinks only).
After Liss, we will walk down Shipwrights Way to Longmore and Weavers Down, an army managed access land which is eerily remote and wild with a range of different flora, shrubs and trees. We will then walk on the Sussex Border Path and continue to Liphook, where we will reward ourselves with a pub stop.
This will be English countryside in its quintessential beauty and at its best – with budding wild flowers and maybe some wild rhododendrons - as well experiencing Longmore Common which feels like walking over Scottish moreland.

Day trip by coach - Stonehenge, Avebury & Uffington White Horse! (NOW FULL)
THE TRIP IS NOW FULL, IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND, ADD YOURSELF TO THE WAITING LIST AND I WILL CONTACT YOU IF A PLACE BECOMES AVAILABLE.
Come along on Saturday 25th April for a coach trip to the ancient sites of Stonehenge, Avebury and Uffington White Horse!
**About the day**
We are travelling by coach to visit some of England's oldest & mystical sites, two in Wiltshire and one in Oxfordshire.
**Stonehenge**
Stonehenge started to be built in 3100BC and is today one of the most famous sites in the world. At the site, I will tell you more about Stonehenge and why its there.
Options when we arrive at Stonehenge:
* pay to take the mini-bus down the road to view it close up, about 4 metres away (it costs £25 to do this, pay when you arrive). If you are an English Heritage or National Trust member its free to get the mini-bus.
* The rest of us will walk the 1 mile down the road and view it from the wire fence (about 5 or 6 metres away) for free.
**Avebury**
Avebury is about 20 miles north of Stonehenge, it dates to about 2800BC and is the largest stone circle in Europe. Its free to walk on the site, which covers over 281 acres and you can even touch the stones! I will guide you round the site telling your about the stones. Its free to view the stones.
**Uffington White Horse**
Uffington White Horse is a huge chalk drawing on the top of a hill which dates back to 900BC. It was probably a tribal symbol, as the remains of Uffington Fort lies behind it. The site is the highest point in Oxfordshire and gives stunning views across the countryside. I will tell you more about the site when we are there. Its free to view the horse.
**Coach seating**
* If you wish to reserve a seat on the coach in advance, after you pay please look at the seating plan in the photos [here](https://www.meetup.com/coach-day-trips-out-of-london/photos/35902731/533405713/) and then email me - [general@cultureseekers.org](http://general@cultureseekers.org), with the seat number/s you wish to reserve. Its first come first served.
* The seat you sit on when you board the coach is yours for the day. If you wish to change seats on the coach during the day, you will need to get permission from the individual who is seated there.
**Cost**
Cost is £33 per person.
After you RSVP:
You will need to make payment (its not automatic), so either:
\- send a bank transfer: TSB Bank plc\, sort code: 77\-66\-65\, account no: 00030809\, Account name: Cultureseekers
\- Pay via credit card in advance \([https://pay.sumup.com/b2c/QDOWSSXO](https://pay.sumup.com/b2c/QDOWSSXO))
\- go to PayPal \- [https://www.paypal.com/uk/](https://www.paypal.com/uk/), ‘send a payment’ to [general@cultureseekers.org](mailto:general@cultureseekers.org) and click on the ‘Goods & Services’ option and change it to ‘Friends & Family’, as this avoids a charge from PayPal.
Once you RSVP and then pay, I will confirm your place.
You have 3 days to make a payment, if no payment is received within 3 days, your place will be offered to the first person on the waiting list.
**Food & drink**

DEGAS–Focus Point(e): Impressionist Photography
**DEGAS 📸🩰**
*Focus Point(e): **Impressionist Photography***
DPL is happy to bring back a favoured DPL workshop–DEGAS! This time, however, we will focus less on the theatrics to create the famous Degas imagery and more on camera techniques to capture an *Impressionist* image.
Our last two workshops have explored capturing dance in movement. This time it is YOU the photographer who will be doing the moving, playing with panning and zooming on a (mostly) still body.
Take a look at some of the images we managed to capture at previous Degas workshops. What might you do differently to create the effect of *Impressionism*? Using slightly different techniques we will explore:
◼️ Intentional Camera Movement
◼️ Various Focus Techniques
◼️ Capturing Texture
This whorkshop will be led by Michelle Buckley (professional dancer & co-founder/director of DPL) and Nick Gregan (professional photographer & author). Together, we will guide you through this specially curated workshop, using the specific techniques to create *Impressionist Photography*.
