Regents Park stroll, 2.5miles
Regents Park stroll, 2.5miles
* We will meet outside the Baker Street tube station, in Front of Pizza Express, and make our way to Regent's Park. * The Regent’s Park is one of the Royal Parks of London and combines large open spaces with tree-lined pathways, formal gardens, and four children’s playgrounds. It has excellent sports facilities, and contains central London’s largest outdoor sports area. * The Regent's Park is named after the Prince Regent, sometimes known as the playboy prince, who later became King George IV (1762-1830). * We will walk round the Boating lake, through the elegant flowerbeds in the Avenue Gardens to arrive at English Gardens. We will also visit newly oppened Queen Elizabeth II garden (if it'not too busy). * From there we will make our way to Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens to see more than 12,000 roses. From there to the Japanese garden island (pictured above) and carry on by the rockery garden. finish our walk at the Baker Street station. Optional lunch drinks in local spoons at the end of the walk. What to bring: Comfortable footwear Water Photo-taking gadgets and chargers An umbrella just in case (it's London after all) The walk is free for members who have subscribed for an annual membership. For other members the fee is £5 cash/card on arrival to contribute towards the organiser's meetup fees and costs. The annual pass option is £15 payable by cash/card on the day. This will provide access to at least 40 walks per year (members are welcome to bring a guest to each event). All walks are free for the NHS staff (also welcome to bring a guest). ***'No Show' Policy:*** *If the member replied 'yes' but did not attend the event, did not update the RSVP and did not inform the organisers on 3 occasions – this triggers an automatic removal from the group. That's once for events with a waiting list.* ***Trivium***: Queen Mary's Gardens, in the Inner Circle, were created in the 1930s, bringing that part of the park into use by the general public for the first time. The site had originally been used as a plant nursery and had later been leased to the [Royal Botanic Society](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Botanic_Society)
Books for Cooks - lunch inside a bookshop!
Books for Cooks - lunch inside a bookshop!
👩‍🍳 **Good food, great cookbooks, and even better company.** This meetup takes us to Books for Cooks, a charming Notting Hill spot where a cookbook shop meets a working kitchen. We’ll browse shelves filled with inspiring food books, then enjoy freshly made dishes prepared from the very recipes around us. [You can find more information on the bookshop’s website here. ](https://www.booksforcooks.com/story.html) **Lunch costs around £10 and is served strictly at 12.** It’s a relaxed, sociable setting - perfect for chatting, sharing a meal, and connecting with fellow food and culture lovers over something a little different. 📕 **How the meetup will flow** We’ll start by gathering outside Books for Cooks at 11am and we’ll wait 10-15mins for everyone to arrive. We will then go inside and have a relaxed browse through the shelves - a great way to break the ice and discover new favourites. After that, we’ll move to the café area to enjoy one of their freshly prepared dishes, all cooked from book recipes in-store. We’ll keep things easy-going, with plenty of time to chat, share recommendations, and connect over good food and books before wrapping up. 🍽️**Who this is for** This meetup is ideal for anyone who enjoys good food, great conversation, and discovering unique places. Whether you’re a keen home cook, a casual foodie, or just looking to meet like-minded people in a relaxed setting, you’ll feel right at home. Come solo or with a friend - it’s all about easy conversation and shared experience. **Important to note** 1. They don’t accommodate dietary requirements. 2. Lunch is served strictly at 12pm and costs around £10. 3. There is no option to choose meals except for dessert. 4. We can’t book and we’ll need to queue outside. 5. We may not find space in the cafe in which case we’ll go elsewhere. 6. This is perfect for you if you love an adventure. Avoid if you get annoyed with queues or might get disappointed if we don’t find a table.

worshop in French: picnic food
worshop in French: picnic food
Hi, in this workshop, we will learn to prepare some picnic items such as bread (vegan) goats cheese roulade (v), mackerel or chicken liver pate, panisses (vegan), pissaladière, a lentil salad, maybe a quiche, and of course, a cake and some sweet things. There will be a clearer plan once I know how many are coming. We will then go and taste them in the dining room or upstairs while admiring the view. If it's a beautiful day, we could go and enjoy it at Mudchute Farm. The event is free in itself, but I will charge for the ingredients. It should not exceed £15/ person. Please note, the event will only run if there are at least 3 people coming, and I will send you a payment link to be paid before attending. We will cook together (in French of course) in our beautiful 56th floor kitchen, and then we will share and chitchat together in French and you can take some home if there are any left! (bring tupperware) You are welcome to bring a drink if you like, we have glasses and everything necessary, although if we go to the farm, you might need to bring a drinking vessel of some sort. For extra fun, you could bring an ingredient you'd like to experiment with!! Cooking will take place from 11-3pm, and after that we'll mingle (in French still!) until you feel fully frenchified. Teenagers are welcome, but there might be too much going on for smaller children.

Keep an eye on the weather and this event in case we need to change venue. I've also created this event on Facebook and we usually get others jump in last minute at the Assembly so there will be more people than are showing just on the guest list here.
