Some winters are for hibernating, but this isn’t one of them.
[Station Alpha](https://stationalpha.org/) and [Founder Institute](https://fi.co/), in collaboration with Startup DC, are partnering on this public meetup celebrating fresh ideas, new beginnings, and the unstoppable energy of the startup ecosystem in the National Capital Region. With generous support from [Unstuck Labs](https://unstucklabs.com/), this event brings together founders, builders, investors, operators, and the startup-curious for an evening that feels like the first warm day after a long winter - optimistic, electric, and full of possibility.

UNCORKED is a walk-around tasting where we open 30 different bottles from our list—a chance to try the cellar of our award-winning wine program. The wines are paired with seasonal paella and passed tapas. Each time we host, we dive into a different theme. This time, we’re uncorking terroir.
Terroir is a French term that refers to the natural environment in which a wine is made. This includes everything– but most often focuses on soil, topography and climate, ultimately producing a bottled sense of place. Our 400+ bottle program deeply focuses on terroir, becoming a collection of places that can be experienced through a pour.
For this UNCORKED, we’re opening 30 wines that we think are some of the clearest expressions of place out there. We can’t wait to share these truly transportive bottles with you.

This game has been catching on of late there, due to the good food and the generous prizes. Parking will be easy here, as you can just park in the mall lot and enter the restaurant from the outside. Note that the venue is on the Loisdale Rd. side of the mall (to the right of LA Fitness).

Vintage Cube at Your Hobby Place - Old Town Alexandria
**NEW UPDATE:** Additional members of the cubing community have reached out to me and we all agree, the more cubing the better! I have removed the 12 person limit and we are adding an overflow cube for those also interested in non vintage type cubes! Priority will still fall to firing the vintage cube but what this means is if we reach 12 members we can offer the option to fire both cubes at 6 and 6 or just the vintage cube at 2 pods each. Registration is from 2PM-5PM. You'll receive your wristband. If you can't make it by 5pm have a friend present your ticket and pick everything up for you.
TICKETS
You MUST print a copy of your ticket or have with you or on your phone. Tickets are transferable and not refundable. You can give your ticket to a friend to use if you cannot attend the event.
ID
Government issued ID is required! It will be checked at every participating bar that you choose to go to. All participants must be 21 years old or older.

**Save the date:** the Firefly House invites you to join us in-person for our celebration of Ostara the afternoon of March 21st at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, VA. Here's a rough schedule for the day:

As we all know, the hospitality industry is badly hit by the crisis and be generous to your bartenders and waitresses.
Due to the pandemic the entire set up of this event is changed:
* We will be complying with all CDC, state, and local guidelines.
* Occupancy never exceeds 50%.
* No Cash Transaction to reduce contamination.
* All patrons must wear masks. If you don't wear a mask, we don't allow you to enter and you won't be refunded.
* A thorough cleaning and disinfection of frequently contacted surfaces will be done during the event and please bear with us.
* Temperature check for staff and patrons.
* ATTENDEES WILL BE ASKED TO KEEP PHYSICAL DISTANCE FROM OTHER GROUPS/COUPLES/FAMILIES.
Refund and Ticket Resell Policy
All sales are final. We only refund the full amount, if the event is canceled. If it is rescheduled, we will send an email to ticket holders, advising that. A full refund will be given to those that let us know within 2 calendar days of the update email, if you are unable to make it on the new date. No refunds will be given after that time.
However, you can sell your ticket to someone else if you are unable to attend. Please, feel free to post in the comment box for the event, that you have a ticket for sale. Work out payment between yourselves, and have the seller only send the organizer a message letting us know the full name of the person taking your spot. You must let us know two hours before the RSVP close time, on the day of the event.

March Madness Wine Bracket / House Wine / Multiple Weeks
A fun way to compare wines from two different countries at a time. House Wine is squaring off two countries' wines against each other each Thursday in March. March 12, March 19, March 26, and the Finals April 2nd.
Meet and Greet format....show up after 7pm, pay your $15 at the cash register, get your wine glass, and enjoy. I will get a table reserved for the group.

***Okay, call me crazy but you have got to try their chip n dip!*** Club 185 is a true hidden gem in German Village! Seriously, old school, good comfort food and drink. We will try to gather in spaces near the windows. While we'll share Chip n Dip, you'll want to order a sandwich, too.
