Read & Reflect: A Social Reading Circle.
Shared Pages, Shared Insights.
đ Do you love reading, but wish you had a structure and a community to share your insights with?
Join our small circle of curious minds (just 4 members per gathering) as we come together for an hour of focused readingâin the calm setting of a library or the cozy atmosphere of a cafĂŠ.
Hereâs how it works:
First part: Quiet reading on your ownâbring a book youâre exploring, whether itâs philosophy, history, psychology, literature, or anything meaningful to you.
Second part: We regroup and each person shares key takeaways, insights, or questions sparked by their reading. This sparks a structured yet free-flowing conversation around ideas, perspectives, and personal reflections.
Why join?
Add structure to your reading habit.
Discover new books, authors, and ideas through othersâ choices.
Build real connections by sharing and listening deeply.
Socialize around something meaningful instead of small talk.

Brunch at La Madeleine
The Alexandria Brunch Club is a long running brunch event. We're a friendly bunch of people of different backgrounds, who enjoy a nice morning brunch and fun conversations.
As has been the tradition, La Madeleine's in Old Town Alexandria is our place for brunching on a Sunday of every month.
I find that a Sunday brunch is nice way to socialize and to just get myself out of the house. Afterward, Old Town, the Potomac and the myriad of parks are nice places for strolling after breakfast.
BEST PARKING IN OLD TOWN
Courthouse Square Parking lot
111 S Pitt St - Same side as La Madeliene, Two Doors Down
Usually $1/hour Weekends and after 5pm, Weekdays
For any questions and such feel free to message me. I am the main organizer.
My best to all!

BB and above players only up to 12 players
# Today's meetup is limited to 12 BB and above only players and 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 play only. Please help us keep this day limited and enjoy the open play on the other days if you or your friend are not BB or above. People make plans and travel to show up on limited days for limited play because it is limited to experienced players. Please do not show up if you are on the waitlist without checking first, or try to play 5's or 6's, with your friend that is learning how to play, or because it is not full with 12 players if you or your friend are not BB or above. Weâd rather play with 9 experienced players on these limited days than open it up to beginners, friends that are learning, etc. There are other open days for that, and they are fun too.
Sundays In The Park series
We meet on Sundays at 8 a.m. for training runs on some of DC's best trails, including Rock Creek Park and the surrounding area. We typically meet at either Peirce Mill in Rock Creek Park, or Roosevelt Island, depending on the route.
Details of the weekly schedule can be found here: https://new.vhtrc.org/runs/sip
We hope you can join us for a run! All paces and levels of trail experience are welcome for these runs, which range in distance from 6 to 9 miles.

Sunday Brunching - AYCE Buffet Style at J Hollingers (Downtown Silver Spring)
**NEW MEMBERS or 1st TIME EVENT GO-ERS**
Before attending your first event, please take a moment to understand how our dinners work and what we ask of members.

**RSVP CUTOFF (i.e. Final Change Your Mind if Registered YES)**
â **RSVP Cancellation Cutoff for this Event is Saturday 4p, 4/18**. (*Late Cancel applies after this, repeat occurrences can impact membership*)
Letâs switch things up with a proper Sunday brunch buffet. We are heading to J. Hollingerâs Watermanâs Chophouse in downtown Silver Spring, known fo*r its upscale American chophouse approac*h and one of the more robust brunch buffet offerings in the area.
â CASH strongly preferred for this event!
**FOOD**: J. Hollingerâs Watermanâs Chophouse offers a full Sunday brunch buffet with a wide range of options across breakfast and lunch. Expect made-to-order omelets, a Belgian waffle bar, carving stations with a variety of meats, seafood selections, and rotating hot dishes. There are also lighter items, sides, and a solid range of vegetarian-friendly options, so most preferences are covered.
Some beverages such as coffee, tea, sodas, & ice tea are included with the buffet. We are also aware there is an optional raw bar available, offered Ă la carte and outside of the buffet pricing. Review the full menu for details, and plan accordingly since anything beyond the base buffet and included drinks will add to your total.
Reviews note consistent refills and good pacing, making this a popular upgrade for those looking to extend the brunch experience.
Most members should expect total spend to land roughly in the 55 to 85 dollar range depending on beverage participation.
â **Explore J. Hollingerâs AYCE brunch buffet menu: [https://www.jhollingers.com/brunchbuffet](https://www.jhollingers.com/brunchbuffet)**
**SPACE**: Spacious, modern dining room with an upscale chophouse feel. Brunch draws a steady crowd, so expect an energetic atmosphere with moderate noise levels.

C-food and Eat It @ Coastal Flats
They have great seafood so if you see some of it, eat it!
Here is their menu: greatamericanrestaurants.com (https://www.greatamericanrestaurants.com/coastalflats/gaithersburg/Menus/Dinner)
Yes, âitâs a chain, but the food is deliciousâ at these moderately priced seafooders where âwonderfulâ lobster rolls, âterrificâ crab cakes and âto-die-forâ shrimp and grits arrive in ânoisyâ, âbeach-themedâ dining rooms; the âefficientâ servers âknow the menu wellâ, and though they generally âdonât take reservationsâ, âyou can call aheadâ to get a spot in line.
All aboard mates!
Sunday walk
Consider it cancelled if itâs raining (Sorry, not at that level yet đŹ) Maybe one day!
