Hi, I am Syrine,
I started solo traveling in 2018 and it changed my life, from introvert to extrovert. Along the way, I loved meeting people, but also felt how hard it can be to find connection when traveling alone.
Iām building Just Gutsy so no one has to feel alone on the road ā and so anyone whoās still shy to take that first step has a welcoming place to start. š

Profs & Pints DC: The Irish and the America's Revolution
[Profs and Pints DC](https://www.profsandpints.com/washingtondc) presents: **"The Irish and America's Revolution,"** with Sam Fisher, an associate professor of history at Catholic University of America, scholar of colonial America and early modern Britain and Ireland, and author of *The Gaelic and Indian Origins of the American Revolution.*
[Advance tickets: $13.50 plus sales tax and processing fees. Available at [https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/profsandpints/dc-irish-american-revolution](https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/profsandpints/dc-irish-american-revolution) .]
What impact did the American Revolution have on Ireland? What role did Ireland and Irish people play in the American Revolution?
Hear these questions tackledāand keep your St. Patrick's Day celebration going yet another dayāby coming to Washington D.C.ās Hill Center for a fascinating discussion of the many connections between Ireland and America in the Revolutionary War era.
Dr. Sam Fisher, an expert on eighteenth-century Ireland, Scotland and America, will examine the influence that earlier Irish patriots had on the constitutional thought of the American patriots.
Heāll also talk about the shared commitment of the American revolutionaries and Irish patriots to resisting British control. Youāll learn why those Irish patriots were Protestant colonists and notāas you might suspectāIrish Catholics, who were more likely to support the monarchy.
Speaking of Irish Catholics, weāll look at poems (and maybe even sing a song) in Irish to get their take on the Revolution, and weāll look at why the failure to fully include them in the Irish patriot cause led to its failure. Professor Fisher will shine light on the dark side of this American-Irish patriot network, which was held together not only by ideas about liberty but also by both groupsā fears that the British empire had begun to favor Irish Catholics (along with other āinternal enemiesā like enslaved people, Indians, and Scottish Highlanders) even more than loyal Protestant colonists.
Long before the potato famine, Ireland and America were already building a shared history. Join us for an evening of pints, poems, and patriots when we'll reflect on the origins of the special connection between Ireland and the United States. (Doors: $17, or $15 with a student ID.)

**FOOD**: Rumiās Kitchen serves refined Persian cuisine built around wood fired meats, saffron rice, stews, and vibrant small plates. Reviewers consistently praise the lamb kabobs for tenderness and seasoning, along with chicken kabobs and koobideh skewers. The Chilean sea bass and duck fesenjoon, a traditional pomegranate walnut stew, are often highlighted as standout entrĆ©es. Popular starters include roasted cauliflower, hummus, and smoked eggplant dishes. Saffron rice with crispy tahdig is a table favorite. Desserts such as baklava and Persian ice cream are frequently recommended.
The cocktail program is also well reviewed, with guests noting balanced, spice driven drinks and an interesting wine list. Most members should expect to spend between 45 and 75 dollars for dinner and drinks.

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
