Pickleball & Breakfast — 6 Strangers. One Court. Infinite Tomos.
Ever wished making new friends as an adult was actually fun? This is your Saturday morning sorted.
**Welcome to Gotomo — where strangers become Tomos.**
**Pickleball & Breakfast** — we're keeping it small, real, and ridiculously good — a Circle of Six on the court, followed by breakfast with your new Tomos. No awkward intros. No giant crowds. Just six people, good energy, and a morning you'll actually want to repeat.
**No experience needed.** Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing social sports for a reason — it's dead simple to pick up, laughably fun, and ridiculously good at breaking the ice. We'll have paddles, balls, and our patient coaches who'll show you the ropes at the beginning.
**Here’s how the morning flows:**
* ☀️ Arrive, meet your Circle of Six
* 🏓 Warm up & play — 1 hour of pickleball (beginner-friendly, I promise)
* 🍳 Head out for breakfast together (self-paid — good food, better company)
* 💬 The Gotomo Moment — connection happens here
* 🤝 Grow your circle or join the next one
**What to bring:**
* Comfortable sports clothes & sneakers
* A water bottle
* Your actual self (leave the awkward small talk at home — we've got games for that)
**What we've got covered:**
* Paddles & equipment
* 10 mins of coaching for beginners
* Pickleball court + breakfast spot, all booked for you
* Good people
Spots are capped at 6 — because that's the whole point. Intimate. Real. We run 2 groups of 6 across 2 courts, so every Circle gets its own vibe.
**How to join your Circle of Six:**
Head over to gotomo.co to register and book a slot

Our Thirty-Fifth Walk!
Hello everyone!
Place to Meet: Paya Lebar MRT Passenger Service Control Centre (East West Line)
Time: 5pm
1\. Dinner at Paya Lebar MRT
2\. Walk along Tanjong Katong/East Coast/New Upper Changi Rd/Chai Chee before ending at Bedok North
The route may be modified during the walk to better suit the group’s pace and fitness levels. The organizers will make adjustments as needed to ensure the walk remains enjoyable and manageable for all participants.
Do drop me a message via whatsapp or via meetup if you will be late.
You may consider the following:
1\. Comfortable Clothing
• Moisture-wicking fabrics: Avoid cotton, as it traps moisture and causes chafing. Instead, choose clothing made from materials like polyester, nylon, or merino wool, which keep you dry.
• Comfortable socks: Opt for moisture-wicking socks with cushioning to reduce the risk of blisters.
2\. Proper Footwear
• Well-fitting shoes: Ensure your shoes are properly broken in and provide enough support, especially if you're walking long distances. Sturdy hiking or walking shoes with good arch support are ideal.
• Blister prevention: Consider blister-resistant socks or pack blister pads to address any discomfort before it becomes a problem.
3\. Hydration
• Water bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the walk to maintain energy levels and prevent dehydration.
4\. Snacks
• Energy bars or trail mix: Portable, nutrient-packed snacks high in carbohydrates and protein—perfect for refueling during breaks.
• Nuts or dried fruit: Easy to carry and great for providing long-lasting energy.
5\. Umbrella
• Umbrella: Bring one in case of rain to stay dry and comfortable\.
6\. Optional Gear
• Tissues or wet wipes: Handy for personal hygiene or cleaning your hands after eating or drinking.
7\. Small Backpack or Waist Pack
• Use a small, comfortable bag to carry your essentials. Ensure it fits snugly and doesn’t rub or chafe over time.
Disclaimer:
By participating in this walk, you acknowledge and accept that you are responsible for your own physical well-being.
Please exercise caution while walking, and listen to your body.

Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Event location change: Monk's Brew Club
Bring extension cords if you have!
Hey everyone! We organising a co-working + socialising session for all of us who like to work on something (e.g. our own project, freelance or remote work) but feel working alone at home can get a bit lonely :-)
To ensure that we have both socialising AND working, we will be using the so called “Pomodoro” technique:
**50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break** to socialise. Then repeat, we typically do up to 3 rounds.
It’s an effective way to stay focused - you can read more about it [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique).
Anyone from any background is welcome, whatever project you are working on or whatever is your personal background.
——————————————————-
AGENDA:
* **15min Intro (please come on time)**
Get to know everyone, talk about what you will work on today
* **Pomodoro Session** \- 3x \(3h\)
Each Pomodoro session consists of 50min of uninterrupted “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, no phones)
-> then 10min of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc.
-> Repeat
* **Wrap Up and dinner (optional)**
Share your progress, socialise and get to know others 😊

Location is Monk’s Brew Club (57 East Coast Road, Singapore 428773). We have booked a separate room with multiple tables at the 2nd floor of the cafe, just walk all the way through to the back when you walk in, or ask the barista.
Wifi + power plugs are there but best to bring a fully charged laptop and extension cords, just in case 🙃
You DO NOT have to pay anything, but since we are using the café space, it would be common courtesy to buy at least one drink.
Please remember to release your RSVP in case you are not able to make it for the people on the waitlist and looking forward to seeing you there! :)
Note: RSVP-ing and then no show will result in penalties:
1 No show = warning
2 No shows = de-prioritized for those in waitlist
3 No shows = blocked from future events
Cheers

Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.
Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.

**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is powerful, but what if you could scale from a solo AI assistant to an entire team of specialized agents working in parallel? This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise.
We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration.
Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team.
