No one can enter the building after that ⚠️ **🗣️Talks** 1️⃣ **From Chaos to Clarity: Building Your BI Platform** 🎙️ **[Viktoriia Kniazeva](https://www.linkedin.com/in/viktoriia-kniazeva-106403161/)**, Technical Consultant at [Omnevo](https://www.linkedin.com/company/omnevo/) Many organizations accumulate multiple operational systems, each with its own data model, stack, and integration challenges — and BI often becomes an afterthought stitched on top. This session demonstrates how to design and implement a BI platform from scratch, unifying heterogeneous data sources into a reliable, scalable architecture. Based on hands-on experience with systems like Metabase, we examine patterns for creating clean data flows, ensuring trust, and building a foundation that analytics can grow on. Takeaways: • BI as Part of System Architecture: Why analytics needs to be architected—not improvised. • Data Flow Design: Structuring the path from operational systems to actionable insights. • What to prepare before starting a BI project — the key checks teams often forget 2️⃣ **Dashboards, Data, and “Did It Work?” at Grafana** 🎙️ **[Maria Dubinets](https://www.linkedin.com/in/maria-dubinets/)**, Senior Data Analyst at [Grafana Labs](https://grafana.com). Grafana builds industry-leading tools for observing infrastructure — but how does an observability company observe its own products? This talk explores how Product Data Analytics and Experimentation are structured at Grafana, from high-volume event ingestion to statistically rigorous A/B testing. It will unpack how Grafana’s modern data stack — powered by RudderStack, BigQuery, dbt, Prefect, OpenMetadata, and Grafana itself — creates a scalable, governed, and trustworthy source of product truth. The session will then dive into one of Grafana’s most intricate live product experiments that just finished: testing whether automatically surfacing our Interactive Learning Plugin inside Grafana Cloud increases adoption of Synthetic Monitoring and IRM by moving users from Activation to Engagement. Attendees will see how the experiment was designed, sized, instrumented, and analyzed — and what was learned once the results came in. The talk concludes with a preview of the next onboarding experiment focused on improving Day 2–14 engagement for new Cloud users. What Attendees Will Learn • 🏗️ How Grafana structures its product data stack • 📊 How dashboards evolve into decision systems • 🧪 How product experiments are designed for rigor • 🚀 Case Study: The Interactive Learning Plugin Experiment **Event language:** * English (many attendees also speak Spanish and other languages). **Who can join?** * 👭 This event is open to everyone. * Whether you’re a student, job seeker, or tech professional, you’re welcome here! **Address** Trainline: Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes\, 613\, Barcelona \| [https://maps.app.goo.gl/2u1b8fqHjgFw7kJz9](https://maps.app.goo.gl/2u1b8fqHjgFw7kJz9) **Venue Information:** * Wheelchair accessible. * NOT suitable for children. * If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, let our media team know. **More about TechFems:** * Discover more on our [Website](https://techfems.org) and join [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/techfems). * Please read our [Code of Conduct](https://techfems.org/codeofconduct/). **PLEASE NOTE** By registering, you agree to the TechFems [Privacy Policy](https://techfems.org/privacy-policy/) and [Code of Conduct](https://techfems.org/codeofconduct/).

Challenging the UX Mantras
Challenging the UX Mantras
**UX Salon** is thrilled to welcome you to a special event in collaboration with **[Masters in Design for Responsible AI](https://ai.elisava.net/master/design-responsible-ai/)** hosted at the beautiful auditorium at **[Elisava](https://www.elisava.net).** **Speaker** In this talk by **[Irene Pereyra](https://www.linkedin.com/in/irenepereyra/)**, a heretic’s stance is taken on the sacred mantras of UX such as “Good UX is simple,” “Good UX is universal,” and “Good UX is intuitive,” challenging them one by one. Through client and personal projects, the argument is made that good UX design is neither universal nor timeless, but situational and shaped by the context of the here and now. The audience is invited to reconsider what “good” truly means in digital design today. **Irene Pereyra** is the co-founder of the independent design studio Anton & Irene and the author of Universal Principles of UX (Quarto, 2023), with a second book, The Accessible Design Reference & Specification Book, forthcoming in summer 2026. She is also a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). Irene also works at the intersection of design and policy with the Danish think tank 21st Europe, where she contributes to speculative design Blueprints exploring how Europe is rethinking policy, technology, and design. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 **Abstract** Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively. This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way. **YouTube Link** TBA
