Hi everyone! On **Saturday, May 02, 2026**, I’m planning a beautiful loop hike around the **Perchtoldsdorfer Heide**, one of the most scenic nature areas on the southern edge of Vienna. This route takes us through a protected **nature reserve** with open landscapes, gentle hills, and wide views towards Vienna and the Wienerwald. In spring, the area is especially pleasant, with fresh greenery and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a varied hike combining forest paths, meadows, and panoramic viewpoints. **Highlights** * 🌿 **Walking through the beautiful Perchtoldsdorfer Heide Nature Reserve** * 🌄 **Panoramic views over Vienna and the Wienerwald** 📍**Meeting Point** **Rodaun – Tram 60 Terminus** **09:00 a.m.** Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start calmly together. **Hike Details** **Duration:** approx. **5.5 hours** (pure walking time) **Distance:** approx. **15 km** (depending on small variations) **Elevation:** approx. **500 m ascent** **Difficulty:** Easy (technically), requires basic fitness **Pace:** Comfortable and social, with regular short breaks This hike is ideal if you would like a **moderate workout** without technical difficulty.
