Join me for a fun Drama class every Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm- 8:30pm at the Omnibus Theatre in Clapham Common. Acting helps with confidence and awareness. In a fun and relaxed atmosphere, you will meet new people and learn all about Acting. No experience is needed. We'll do relaxation exercises, games, improvisations, storytelling, and a bit later on we'll start working on character and text. The year ends with an exciting Showcase where friends and family come and see how all your hard work has paid off :) £10 pounds for the trial class to be paid before or after class. Third Wednesday of the month, every month at this charming restaurant /bar/Tea House in Vauxhall. Entry is £10. The food is home cooked and the fish and ships smells and tastes delicious. We sing three sets of eight songs, and take a few requests. The audience all join in singing the choruses but here is quieter than some of our other venues. Some films are easy to watch. Then, after the credits, they quietly stay in your head and start asking questions. Hutsulka Ksenya is one of those films. At first, it looks light, colourful and musical. There is humour, romance, beauty, tradition, awkwardness, charm, and that strange human talent for making life more complicated than it needs to be. But underneath the surface, the film opens a much deeper conversation. Why do people behave the way they do? How much of our thinking is really our own? Where do cultural stereotypes begin? What do we repeat because we genuinely believe it, and what do we repeat simply because we inherited it? How do love, pride, shame, money, status and belonging quietly shape our choices? This event is not just a film screening. We will watch Hutsulka Ksenya together, then stay for an open, guided conversation about the mentalities, stereotypes, behaviour patterns and psychological traps revealed in the film. You do not need to be Ukrainian. You do not need to know anything about Ukrainian cinema. You do not need a psychology background. You only need curiosity and a willingness to notice what usually stays unnoticed. This is a space for people from different backgrounds to watch the same story and see how differently we read it. Script Reading, Improvisation, Voice Projection, Games, Public Speaking and audition techniques will be some of the points covered over the coming terms. Drama is ideal for building confidence, helping with articulation and developing presentation skills. It is also a lot of fun! The classes have built up over the last five years and are run by Mario Renzullo, who was an original member of the famed Anna Scher Theatre and made his professional debut in 1970, and went on to have many lead TV, film and theatre roles. Mario founded the theatrical agency Smart Management, which has been running for over twenty years. The classes are open to a wide age range and welcome those new to acting as well as those with professional acting experience.
