Blood on the Clocktower at Manifesto! (beginner/intermediate)
Hi folks, this is the meetup group for the weekly Sunday Blood on the Clocktower games in the Soot bar in Manifesto at Potsdamer Platz. We run beginner-friendly and intermediate-level games throughout the afternoon and evening. **Friendly newcomers of all skill levels are welcome, no experience required!**
Our group aims to provide a fun and welcoming space to experience this thrilling game of social deception. **We focus on promoting a positive and fun group atmosphere, where players don’t take themselves or the game too seriously, whether they’re heroically winning or spectacularly losing.** Our players follow the code of conduct for the Berlin Board Gamers group and are expected to treat each other with respect and consideration – “killing with grace, and dying with dignity”.
We are usually able to offer two simultaneous games on Sundays. If you are marked as "attending" in Meetup and are in your seat at 15:00, your place is guaranteed for as long as you want to stay. All other seats are first come, first served. We always run at least one beginner-friendly game of the basic version of Clocktower ("Trouble Brewing") throughout the afternoon and evening. We also usually have enough players for a second intermediate-level game. If you are already very familiar with Clocktower, consider also joining our Tuesday meetup for advanced players, when we play with complex custom scripts and characters.
Blood on the Clocktower is a deep, mechanical game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception… think Werewolf on steroids. Each player receives a unique secret role and plays either for the good team – the uninformed majority, gathering info and working with others to solve the puzzle – or the evil team, the informed minority, scheming to eliminate good players and protect their demon from execution. In our beginner games no prior experience is expected and we will gladly explain the game rules to any newcomers.
We play in English so players should be able to understand and express themselves in English: an exception is possible for one pair of players willing to play together (as a “Revolutionary” pair) where one player can interpret into and out of English. Please let us know in advance if this is the case.
We are very grateful to the wonderful folks at Manifesto for hosting our meetup! **Please support the venue during your visit by buying drinks and/or food.**
Screenwriting Focus Group | Filmmakers & Movie Nerds
**🎬 Screenwriters' Meetup Invitation 🎬**
This meetup is for anyone passionate about storytelling—whether you’re a screenwriter, filmmaker, producer, or someone with a great idea looking for the right collaborators. Whether you’re just starting out or deep into your screenplay, this is the perfect space to create, collaborate, and refine your work.
**When You Bring Your Screenplay, Think About Three Key Ingredients:**
1. **Your Main Character** – Who are they? What drives them?
2. **The Central Conflict** – What’s at stake? What’s standing in their way?
3. **The Theme** – What’s the deeper idea that motivates you to tell this story?
If you’re struggling to find a theme, define your character, or establish a strong conflict—don’t worry. That’s exactly what this meetup is for. We’re here to help you uncover the core of your story and give you the tools to develop it further.
Already have an elaborate story? Great! Reflect on these elements:
* **Compelling Characters** – Are they layered, dynamic, and memorable?
* **Inner Conflicts, Interpersonal Tensions, and Global Stakes** – Does your story operate on multiple levels?
* **A Strong, Personal Theme** – Does your theme resonate with you and give your story purpose?
If you can identify these elements, we can dive even deeper and give you focused, constructive feedback to help your screenplay reach its full potential.
Bring your ideas, your drafts, and your passion. Let’s collaborate, challenge each other, and create stories that matter. We can’t wait to see you there!
Filmmakers & Movie Nerds Meetup #182
Curious what we do? Check our [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/filmmakersandmovienerds/) ♥️
Would you like to meet some like-minded filmmakers? Start a project? Or do you need help with a movie you are currently working on? Are you new in the city and you'd like to meet people tinkering with movies?
**Then you should join us!**
We meet every Sunday. It’s important to us that we get to know each other in person. To create a community of connected people, work, learn and grow together. For film making you need a crew of reliable people with a positive can-do-attitude. This is the place to find them.
Together, we will talk about these topics:
* What you are currently working on
* What you need help with
* What would you like to help with
* What you you would like to learn
This is event is great for:
* filmmakers
* movie nerds
* writers
* camera operators
* editors
* actors
* sound recorders
* composers
* gaffers
* producers
We are limiting the amount of people, so we can have a structured introduction and discussion. After that we get together loosely with some drinks and chats. And then we mostly go for dinner with a couple of us.
**Important information**:
*To sustain and grow this amazing community, we started a member contribution that is due every month. The money we collect is used solely for the purpose of the community. Of course you can come once or twice without contributing to check us out!*

Book Swap in Gleisdreieckpark 📚 – Social Butterfly Club 🦋
Bring a blanket, maybe a drink or snack, and 3–5 books you’d like to pass on, and spend a relaxed Sunday afternoon with fellow readers at the Gleisdreieck Park.
Novels, philosophy books, poetry, comics, forgotten favorites — in any language — everything is welcome. Maybe you’ll leave with fewer books — or more. Both are part of the adventure.
This is not a formal market or networking event — just a cozy little community gathering with books, conversations, and a bit of curiosity. Come browse, swap, chat, or simply enjoy the atmosphere on the grass.

HSP Meetup: Visiting Pfaueninsel (peacock island)
**Update, date changed to 31.05. (instead of 26.04.)**
Do you relate to Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) or Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS)? Want to hang out with like-minded people? Not sure but want to find out more? Then come and join us on a visit to Pfaueninsel.
We will walk first for about one hour from Haus der Wannsee-Konferenz towards Pfaueninsel. Then we take a short ferry ride to the the island. The ferry ticket (valid for both ways) cost 6 Euro and includes the entry fee of the island. Together we will explore the island and find a place to sit, preferably on the lawn or by the water.
It's best to bring something to sit on, like a blanket or yoga mat. We can play some cards, have a picnic, or just talk about your favorite HSP topic.
We will leave the island at 6 pm and then head back to S-Bahnhof Wannsee (probably with the bus nr. 218).
**When:**
Sunday 31 May at 12:30 pm
**Exact meeting location:**
At the bus stop opposite S-Bahnhof Wannsee. Where we will take the bus nr. 114 at 12:37 towards Heckeshorn.
It's also possible to join 12:45 pm at the bus stop "Haus der Wannsee-Konferenz" in case you come from another direction.
**About the island:**
Pfaueninsel (Peacock Island) is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site in Berlin’s River Havel, renowned for its romantic landscape, free-roaming peacocks, and iconic white fairytale castle.
Please note everyone is responsible for themselves. If you're tired and/or overstimulated, please don't feel obligated to stay and feel free to say your goodbyes earlier on.

Silent Reading Club
Ditch the old book club, where everyone has to read the same book...this is better!
It works like this: Bring your own book. Come chat, have some tea or coffee, get to know your neighbors. Then we quietly read together, side by side, for about one hour, each one reading their own book, and afterwards we talk with each other about what we are reading.
The usual agenda:
- Arrival and introduction (~20 minutes)
- Silent reading (~1 hour)
- Discussion (~30-40 minutes)
- Join us for a bite at a local restaurant afterwards, if you like!
You may read in any language, you may read any book. We are a group of international residents of Berlin from many different countries, of all ages, and we converse in English. We welcome you!
No registration needed – the event is donation based. All funds support the Offenes Wohnzimmer.
Lets Discuss: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
This time we will be discussing
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind by Michel Gondry

THE BEAST/ La Bête (2023)
In the year 2044, in the age of AI, a woman named Gabrielle (Seydoux) tries to purify her DNA by purging the inherited memories of her past lives. She (re)lives her life in 1910 Paris and 2014 Los Angeles, and as the procedure goes on, the lines between her worlds become blurred. These three timelines have a lot of connective tissue holding them together; certain symbols and motifs appear repeatedly, not to mention Mackay’s Louis, a figure whom Gabrielle seems drawn to in each lifetime.
Disc Tues / Horror-Thriller Pop Up: BACKROOMS at Lennox Phoenix!
Join us as we get together for a Discount Tuesday / Horror-Thriller Pop-Up event to see the very buzzed-about psychological-horror from A24, BACKROOMS! Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve and Mark Duplass star in this film about a therapist, a missing patient and a strange doorway. Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: After a therapist's patient disappears into a dimension beyond reality, she must venture into the unknown to save him. The film is directed by Kane Parsons and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve (who was outstanding in The Worst Person in the World and Sentimental Value), Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett and Lukita Maxwell.
TRAILER: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2z6a6NUFlsU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2z6a6NUFlsU)
BUZZ & EXCITEMENT: Buzz and expectations are off the charts! And over the past week, box office projections have more than doubled as theaters are left scrambling to add showtimes for a film that keeps selling out! Critics call the film “gripping,” “as mesmerizing as it is terrifying” and say it “casts a surrealist spell that’s unlike anything else in contemporary cinema!” It’s an “intellectual puzzle” filled with “unnerving suspense” that’s earning a Certified Fresh 89% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes!
PLAN: Purchase your ticket for the 6:30pm showing and meet in the theater lobby between 6:10 and 6:20pm! Discount Tuesday tickets just $5.00! Once you have yours, please list your seat number in the Comments below!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

Book summary:
On a hot day in Bethlehem, a twelve-year-old Palestinian-American girl is yelled at by a group of men outside the Church of the Nativity. She has exposed her legs in a biblical city, an act they deem forbidden, and their judgement will echo on through her adolescence. When our narrator finally admits to her mother that she is queer, her mother's response only intensifies a sense of shame: 'You exist too much,' she tells her daughter. Told in vignettes that flash between the U.S. and the Middle East--from New York to Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine--Zaina Arafat's debut novel traces her protagonist's progress from blushing teen to sought-after DJ and aspiring writer.
