Help me think about this! An evening to examine interesting thoughts together
**Please note that we invite people through different channels, so there are more attendees than you can see here :)**
Is there a thought that’s been on your mind for a while — one you’d like to explore with others in a focused, open-minded, and safe setting?
In our next discussion experiment, we will create a space for just that. You will have the opportunity to explain your thought and the aspect that interests you most. We will then take some time as a group to examine it in a moderated discussion.
**What kind of thought can I bring?**
Pretty much anything you’d like to hear other people’s perspectives on. Perhaps you have been thinking about a philosophical, societal, moral, or a personal question. A thought you find fascinating, intriguing, confusing or tricky to explain, maybe even one you usually keep to yourself for fear of being misunderstood.
**What can I expect from the event?**
As this is an experimental event, we’re not completely sure how it will turn out — but here’s what we will do:
* Once we start, we will ask for volunteers to contribute a question
* We will dedicate up to 25 minutes per person and question
* You will be able to share and clarify your question before we collect thoughts on it
* We’ll use an experimental facilitation technique that slows the discussion down and helps us avoid getting sidetracked or lost in terminology and definitions
That way, we want to create a curious, playful container in which we can take thoughts apart and compare different takes without arguing or trying to win debates.
Find out more in the FAQ below, or [send us an email](mailto:info@diskussions-experiment.de "mailto:info@diskussions-experiment.de") if you have any questions!
This event is brought to you in partnership with Moe, an app that helps you find the people in your life who are seeking the same kind of connection you are – whether that’s deep conversation, creative improv, or something else entirely. Haven’t tried Moe yet? We’ll do a quick intro at the event, and then you’ll be able to use him to discover future gatherings & people that match your interests.

**FAQ**
***Who is this event for?***
This event is for anyone who is curious and open minded.
We aim to create spaces where people of all ages, identities, and backgrounds feel welcome.
You don’t need to prepare anything, have strong opinions, or be extroverted to take part.
***Do I have to actively participate, or can I just listen?***
It’s perfectly fine to just listen. You can decide for yourself at any time how active you want to be and will not be asked to speak. However, there might be breakout groups, i.e. short segments in which all participants talk in groups of 2-3 people. You do not have to participate in these; you can use the time for a break instead.
***What’s the duration of the event?***
Each event lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. Feel free to stay a bit longer to finish the snacks, chat with other participants, and deepen the conversation.
***Is the venue wheelchair accessible?***
The venue is on the ground floor and accessible with wheelchairs. However, there are unfortunately no wheelchair-accessible bathrooms!
***What is "The Discussion Experiment"***
The Discussion Experiment is an ongoing series of events through which we continuously test methods that foster more meaningful and inspiring group conversations.
Among other things, we experiment with techniques that slow down discussions, improve clarity, and support participants in expressing their ideas more effectively.

Grenzen wahrnehmen. Das Unbekannte erforschen. Alternative "Ich's" ausprobieren.

'The tears of things' chapter 6 discussion book club
Officially register for location details here! https://luma.com/lc0ibzp5
Hey friends! 👋
We’re diving into The Tears of Things by Richard Rohr, and you’re invited to join the conversation. Each month, we read one chapter and gather to explore what resonates — from compassion and anger to hope and how we make meaning in messy times.
This month, we’re talking about Chapter 6! Totally fine if you missed previous book club chapters, it's easy to join in the conversation.
Come as you are — curious, questioning, or quietly taking it in. Let us know if you're in! (So we can get enough snacks! ☺️)
Book overview:
In his first major work since The Universal Christ, one of our most prominent spiritual voices offers a wholehearted and hope-filled model for living today, grounded in the timeless words of the Hebrew prophets.
How do we live compassionately in a time of violence and despair? What can we do with our private disappointments and the anger we feel over an unfair world? In his most personal book yet, Richard Rohr turns to the writings of the Jewish prophets, showing how some of the lesser-read books of the Bible offer us a path forward today.
The prophets' writings echo the spectrum of human development. Beneath their initial fervor and their powerful words, there lies a profound lamentation about our shared human condition and the pain of the world. Yet, in their astute critiques of culture and institutions, and their movement from anger and lament to wholeness and hope, the prophets embody what Rohr calls holy disorder— a distinct approach to confronting malevolence and recognizing the wholeness of every living being.
Drawing on a century of Biblical scholarship and written in the warm, pastoral voice that has endeared millions to Rohr, The Tears of Things breathes new life into ancient wisdom and paves a path of enlightenment for anyone seeking a wholehearted way of living in a hurting world.
About the author, Richard Rohr:
Franciscan friar and ecumenical teacher, Father Richard Rohr bears witness to the deep wisdom of Christian mysticism and traditions of action and contemplation. Founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation, Father Richard teaches how God’s grace guides us to our birthright as beings made of Divine Love. He is the author of numerous books, including The Universal Christ, The Wisdom Pattern, Just This, and Falling Upward.
Rust Berlin on location 🏳️🌈 - Edition 010
**Rust Berlin on location 🏳️🌈** is a new, informal in-person Rust meetup group in Berlin.
We are a interactive meetup format interested in mob coding, deep diving and problem solving together.
We build toy projects, share experiences, discuss technology and learn new cool stuff.
And you are welcome to join!
No matter if you are writing Rust production code every day, if you already contribute to Open Source projects or want to start doing so, if you use Rust in hobby projects or if you are just curious what the hype and buzz is all about, you are very welcome!
To coordinate and plan activities, please join our **[Rust Berlin on location 🏳️🌈](https://signal.group/#CjQKIApfEgb36v82nhIb7m6zLCQjEtSEZubR7UvywTcWZXxdEhBWxhMWNCKekvtCYX7iDRRm)**[ Signal group](https://signal.group/#CjQKIApfEgb36v82nhIb7m6zLCQjEtSEZubR7UvywTcWZXxdEhBWxhMWNCKekvtCYX7iDRRm)!
**Planned programme**
Being an informal meetup, we are open to anything between just meet and talk, explore nerd snipes and rabbit holes, mob code together, plan and build fun projects, tinker with electronics, and presentations with Q&A.
This time, our main topic is going to be dependency-tree security. Jan-Erik will share insights into how security is upheld at Mozilla — in the Firefox project — in the context of third party open source library packages and repeated attempts at attacks through malicious crates.
If someone brings other cool stuff, questions or problems, then let us dedicate the second half of the meetup time to that!
Anyone is invited to bring their projects and questions, show something, ask something, or explore a topic together. The best conversations and deepest rabbit holes can emerge out of seemingly nowhere.
**Projected upcoming meetups**
We schedule regular meetups on Thursday evening every four weeks, using the slot between the Berlin Rust Hack and Learn online meetup (every two weeks), and the Rust Nuremberg online meetup (every four weeks).
22 January 2026 is our tenth meeting. Our next projected meetings are going to occur on the following dates:
* 19 Feb 2026
* 19 Mar 2026
* 16 Apr 2026
* 14 May 2026
* 11 Jun 2026
* 9 Jul 2026
**Location**
Our meetup location is the new shared office community space of Ferrous Systems, Slint and KDAB in Berlin Mitte, for up to 25 people.
We are expecting to use this space as our default location for the time being, with the IN-Berlin e.V. community space in Moabit as backup.
Regardless, as our group might eventually outgrow the locations' size limit, we are low-key looking for bigger locations. If you know a fitting location, then please let us know in our Signal group! Another workable way might be to split the meetup into smaller, interest-specific sub-groups instead.
As the no-show rate on Meetup.com is rather high, consider showing up even if you are on the waiting list. We can't promise that there is any space left, but usually there is. So give it a shot!
**Accessibility**
The location has an elevator and a wheelchair accessible bathroom. Please note that the bathroom is two floors down from the meetup space.
On our quest for a bigger location, we are going to pay special attention to accessibility.
**Community**
We aim to create a safe place for everyone and adhere to the [Berlin Code of Conduct](https://berlincodeofconduct.org/).
Inclusivity is very important to us. If you are curious about Rust, but unsure if you are welcome to join: Yes, yes you are. Please come to the meetup! If you have special needs, please get in contact, we will try to accommodate you as best we can.
We are part of [https://berline.rs/](https://berline.rs/) and like to hang out in the Berlin Rust Hack and Learn online meetup's [Matrix channel](https://matrix.to/#/!xycQxSjSAvEezkyztA:chat.berline.rs). You are very welcome to join!

Radical Empathy – Queer Storytelling for Connection
**Radical Empathy**
host by Neo Seefried
guest: Merten Legatz
event for **LGBTQIA+**
**[Free event with registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/radical-empathy/w04-2026)**
This workshop series invites participants to explore how queer storytelling can hold, transform, and reimagine conflict – both personal and collective. In an intimate closed group of up to 30, we will create a space where differences are not erased but lived, opening up new ways of being connected.
Queer lives are shaped by contradictions – between belonging and exclusion, visibility and erasure, intimacy and alienation. Instead of suppressing them, this series invites us to hold, quarrel with, and even find joy in their friction.
**We will ask questions such as:**
• How can we live conflicts differently?
• What can we learn from one another about responding to tension with more than silence or aggression?
• What does queer experience teach us about the joy of irritation, the art of quarreling, the utopias of disagreement?
**Practices we’ll explore together:**
• Fishbowl-inspired storytelling: one story opens, others weave in.
• Embodied listening: holding difference through the body.
• Mindfulness & circle practices: slowing down, making space for complexity.
• Generative visioning: imagining queer futures shaped not by consensus but by shared vulnerability and empathy.
**Event Overview: Upcoming Guests and Dates:**
• Sunday, September 21, 2025: Mark Pertuis – Queer Mama
• Sunday, October 19, 2025: Mati Klitgard – gayconsentlab
• Sunday, November 30, 2025: TBC
• Friday, January 23, 2026: Merten Legatz – Lecturer at TU, specializing in queer worldmaking.
• Friday, February 13, 2026: Olympia Bukkakis – Drag performers and activists
**General information**
**Participant**: this workshop series is open to LGBTQIA+ people, with particular encouragement for those holding multiple marginalizations.
**Language**: Depending on the group’s needs, sessions will be held in German and/or English.
**Cost**: Free of charge, registration required.
🔵
• Sonntag, 21. September 2025: Mark Pertuis – Queer Mama
• Sonntag, 19. Oktober 2025: Mati Klitgård – gayconsentlab
• Sonntag, 30. November 2025: Pansy – Let’s talk about sex and drugs
• Freitag, 23. Januar 2026: Olympia Bukkakis – Drag-Performer\*Innen und Aktivist\*Innen
• Freitag, 13.

**Katori Shintō-ryū** is one of the oldest Japanese sword fighting traditions (koryū) still practised today and is recognized by the Japanese government as a cultural intangeable asset. The school was founded in the middle of the 15th century by Iizasa Chōisai Ienao at the Katori Shrine (Katori jingū) and has become the origin of numerous other martial arts schools over the course of its almost 600-year history.
The training consists of the continuous repetition of fixed sequences of movements (kata) and includes the use of classic Japanese weapons such as the sword (iai-jutsu, battō-jutsu, ken-jutsu, ryōtō-jutsu, kodachi-jutsu), the long staff (bō-jutsu), the lance (naginata-jutsu) and the spear (sō-jutsu), as well as unarmed disciplines, tactics and spiritual aspects.
**The Katori Berlin dojo** is the only official shibu of Otake Nobutoshi-shihan’s dojo Shinbukan in Germany and fully dedicated to the transmission and study of one martial tradition: Tenshinshō-den Katori Shintō-ryū. Through these efforts we aim to contribute to the cultural preservation of this martial tradition. The dojo has one officially appointed shidosha.
**Our sensei**: Sebastian Graetz has been active in martial arts since 1997. After almost 15 years of taekwondo in Berlin, he started with Katori Shintō-ryū in Asia in 2014. Since then, he has studied in Japan with Ōtake Risuke-shihan and Ōtake Nobutoshi-shihan, and in Vietnam with Malte Stokhof-shihandai. In 2023, he received his Menkyo license and permission to set up a training group in Berlin the following year.
2026 Kickoff - Discover MBTI @ Castle Mitte

Our group aims to bring together people who are interested in self-development and self-improvement using MBTI and cognitive functions, in order to learn more about the theory and share our experiences with it. Another reason for this meetup is to meet people with whom you might potentially get along really well based on your type. This can lead to meaningful connections :)
Although the meetup is geared towards people who are interested in learning about MBTI theory and using it to improve their lives, our conversations aren’t only about that! We talk about anything and everything. So it's more like a regular social meetup with the aim of avoiding small talk :)

Experience Connection beyond surface level - Authentic Relating Event Berlin
### Experience Connection beyond surface level - Authentic Relating Event Berlin
🕓 **Date & Time**: Saturdays, 16:00-18:00
📍 **Location**: near Tierpark or Betriebsbahnhof Rummelsburg
🎟 **Cost**: Donation based
👤 **Participants:** 4-12
***
### **Event Description:**
**Surface-level-conversation, anonymity and the feeling of being separated.**
We live in the age of digital connection, but surveys show that **people feel more lonely than ever.**
I think what we need is a regular practice that doesn't need us to be on the same side, to feel connected. A practice where we can be ourselves and experience the healing effects of co-regulation and belonging, through true presence and vulnerability.
A practice like **Authentic Relating.**
Every Saturday (with some exceptions) I host Authentic Relating and Connection Circles in our space for people to experience this practice.
It involves:
* Listening with presence (instead of fixing or judging)
* Speaking from your truth (without over-explaining or apologizing)
* Feeling seen — and allowing that to be enough
You'll be guided through a smooth entry meditation, gentle relational games and reflection exercises which encourage you drop the armor as much as you feel safe with, slow down, and connect on a deeper level — with yourself and others.
***
### ✨ The Agreements:
* **Honor and respect yourself** \- that means stay true to what you want and need and care for yourself\. Only go as deep as you want and feel safe with\. you don’t have to open up to everyone\. You might be unified consciousness infinitely connected to everything\, but that doesn’t mean you’re not a self too\.
* **Lean into the edge** \- Don’t go all in\. But don’t cotton\-coat either\. Growth in connection happens at the edge\. And that can be a little uncomfortable sometimes\. Try to explore what fits for you\.
* **Honor and respect others as much as yourself** \- accept and respect boundaries\, practice giving a loving no and commit to connection\.
* **Check your assumptions** \- We all naturally build categories and throw our experiences into these\. Be aware of that and don't let prejudice influence the chance of connection\.
* **Confidentiality by request** \- Nothing can be taken for granted\, unless you ask for it\. You want things to stay confidential? Ask for it\.
* **Keep it slow and be present** \- You don’t need to rush and push through\. It's never to slow\, so better breathe one more time\, than one too less\. Stay with how you feel in the moment and keep it safe and slow\.
* **Stay curious** \- You’ve ever seen a child curiously exploring it’s environment? Children have this innate sense of awe and curiosity\, because they don’t have categories\. Try to tap into the "not\-knowing" curiosity and watch your relational practice transform\.
***
**Disclaimer:**
* **This is no place to perform**. You don't need to be someone to deserve connection.
* **This is not a place for dating or making friends**. The connection, intimacy and trust you'll experience, might seem more real than everything you know and you are invited to connect afterwards. But this space is for the experience of deep connection. So no hard feelings if someone just wants that.
* **This isn't therapy and it doesn't substitute it either**. If you have serious mental health issues you are welcome, and this experienc might also be helpful and feel healing, but it can't substitute the safe and professional environment of therapy. Although the host is trained in holding spaces and dealing with difficult states and stories, the participants aren't. Just keep that in mind.

Flow is a state of being… an experience when you allow yourself to be 100% fully engaged in the present moment in a feedback loop between clarity and satisfaction. It is an undeniable sensation where things seem to be more effortless, pleasurable, in sync, and you can easily sense a connection with something greater than yourself; this is what we will create…:
• a connected and mindful meditation where it is possible to blissfully surf the cutting edge of the present moment together…
• a game where it’s possible to feel excited and calm in the same moment, and everyone can win as much as they like…
Scott Bolden, founder of Das Baumhaus Berlin will share some very easy, practical and effective methods developed during the last 12 years of facilitating these sessions. Within 20 minutes participants learn to use the common sound space to create resonance in the form of improvisational music where it is quite common to experience some real flow moments… All of the session is done with eyes closed to avoid visual distractions and keep focus on the co-created sound space.

Drunken Philosophy: Is Life a Dream? Is Life a Simulation?
Welcome to Drunken Philosophy, a casual, curious, social discussion club.
Optional topic for this meet up: Is life a dream? Is life a simulation?
Dreams feel real while they last. Could life work the same way? How do we know we’re awake, and what follows if we can’t be sure?
Let’s kick that around over a around of drinks:
• What makes something feel real: continuity, shared evidence, or meaning?
• How do we know we're not in a simulation?
• How would you tell you’re awake (reality checks, memory, other people)?
• If life is dreamlike, what becomes of free will and responsibility?
• Is identity a story we keep telling—who’s the narrator?
• Are we author, actor, or audience in our dreams and how would you tell?
• Does art/film reveal reality or replace it?
No lectures. Friendly crowd. Drop in for one drink and stay if it’s fun.

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)

Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.

• Attend orientation in advance.

The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.

Anger and Resentment, How to Handle their Source and Live a Better Life
Wouldn’t it be nice to find a way to overcome your feelings of anger so that you not only control them, but you no longer have the urge to lose your temper in the first place?
And how about being able to shake off resentments, persistent annoyance, or even feelings of vengeance?
We’d like to invite you to an event on how to overcome anger and resentment. We will show you why people have trouble controlling their temper and where resentment comes from.
Flaring anger can ruin a meeting, a relationship, an opportunity, or just about any aspect of life. Worst of all, outbursts towards our family can create hurt that lingers throughout a lifetime.
You want to have a civil conversation, and you’ve vowed that you wouldn’t lose your temper, but a few minutes later, the anger flares up. Maybe you’ve realized that being angry doesn’t get you what you want so you internalize it. Or maybe you avoid the knockdown, drag-out fights, but stewing in resentment is exhausting and takes an emotional toll.
In this event we show you how to get to the root of your anger so that it stops being an issue to you. You’ll also learn why people harbor resentments and how to move on.
Don't continue to struggle, make a difference in your life, and join us for this local event.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to the event. We look forward to seeing you there.
