Welcome to the **Unreal Engine Workshop!** In each session we'll tackle essential game design discussions, then transition into hands-on project creation. Participants will build and expand their skills continuously as we explore every aspect of game development. From basic blueprints and interactive mechanics, to advanced rigging, animation, environment design, and lighting, we'll work our way up to creating small complete games. We encourage experimentation and peer teaching, so whether you're a beginner or experienced developer looking to deepen your expertise, our sessions provide a supportive environment to learn, create, and innovate together in Unreal Engine 5.
FURNITURE RESTORATION – EVENINGS – BRING A PROJECT
**Bookable via our website:** [https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/furniture-restoration-evenings-bring-a-project-50/](https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/furniture-restoration-evenings-bring-a-project-50/)
**⋆⋆⋆**
A wonderful entry into the enchanting world of restoration. This is a project based course and we encourage learners to bring a small wood item to the first class.
You can bring a 60s book-rack, a small occasional table, a simple chair or a shabby wood box. These objects can be wobbly, scratched or dented, and maybe a few bits missing- they can date from 19th to mid 20th century.
Work on your own piece while learning the skills you need along the way.
We will show you how to fix the wobbles and make joint repairs and how to repair lost or flaky veneers. You will also have an introduction to wood finishes from modern stains, varnishes and waxes to classic French polishing.
This is a great way to get stuck into the practice of restoration. We will guide you through the process of assessing a potential project, learning about its construction and how to bring a sad relic back to shining glory.
Please email [info@thegoodlifecentre.co.uk](mailto:info@thegoodlifecentre.co.uk) if you have a photo of a project you would like to discuss.
Some materials will not be kept in stock. Approved projects can be stored at the centre. We cannot offer additional time to work on your project outside of workshop times.
freeCodeCamp x Encode | AI - Workshop: Demystifying OpenClaw, the New AI Agent
# Beginners Hands-On Workshop: Breaking Down OpenClaw: From Minimal Installation Mode to Full-Featured Installation Mode w/ Your Own Custom Skills & More...
**Registration to this event is only valid through the Luma platform:**
[https://luma.com/it7a6h53?utm_source=meetup-dot-com](https://luma.com/it7a6h53?utm_source=meetup-dot-com)
Hello code campers!
Since **OpenClaw**, both as a project and as a tech movement, is growing, and since there is so much happening in this space, we've decided to dedicate the next **FreeCodeCamp \| AI** almost entirely to **OpenClaw,** especially following the success of the previous event. This is quite relevant since AI is moving soooo fast nowadays, making everyone scratch their heads confused while making some feel overwhelmed or have a small sensation of AI news fatigue. We will try to break down what this whole project is all about and whether or not all the hyperbolic statements about what this system can do are true.
The aim for this workshop is to go through the setup process (it will hopefully take less time compared to last time because the maintainers of this project are constantly improving things), focusing on how to install the agent not only locally (virtualised, of course) but also in the cloud. We will probably look at AWS and GCP with the caveat: if you have your own server, which we encourage you to look into, the same will apply.
This will be our **6th** event in our series of **local-first, open-source** AI events; therefore, we will try to focus on building a setup that doesn't depend on Big Tech but on smaller open-source tech instead. People who already have OpenClaw installed will be guided to customise it to use local LLMs or at least privacy-first cloud-based AI systems (that is because an individual's private ideas and personal project are their personal moat). At the end, we will be looking at what **SKILLS** are in the context of agents, how to build them, and if we have time, we will look at use cases for OpenClaw or, alternatively, look at emerging open-source AI agent toolkits like Pi.
This workshop is open to all levels, from beginners to experts.
Bring your laptop (make sure it's fully charged as local LLMs tend to be power-hungry), and don't forget to bring your coding gear (hoodie).
This workshop will be accompanied by a guest speaker (full details TBA).
***
## Prerequisite
First and foremost**, VERY IMPORTANT**, a VM (Virtual Machine) system like Docker/UTM for MacOs or WSL for Windows. Lastly, a local install of Ollama / LMStudio (but if you don't have any of that, don't worry, come a bit early and we will help set you up).
If you want to take a quick look at the slides from the previous events fell free to do so:
[https://andysign.github.io/ai-london-01/](https://andysign.github.io/ai-london-01/) (Ollama);
[https://andysign.github.io/ai-london-02/](https://andysign.github.io/ai-london-02/) (LangFlow, not really related but still)
[https://andysign.github.io/ai-london-03/](https://andysign.github.io/ai-london-03/) (private RAG w/ Anything LLM)
[https://andysign.github.io/ai-london-04/](https://andysign.github.io/ai-london-04/) (AI-native browsers)

This month, join us for a relaxed evening of conversation and connections at the **British Museum**. It's just like a usual LoMAZ event except for one thing: everyone there will be single.
Come for friendship, come for dates, come along!
**HOW DOES IT WORK?**

* You can choose to wear a LoMAZ logo sticker (indicating you are straight) or a LoMAZ rainbow sticker (indicating you are LGBTQIA+), or you can wear both stickers. Wearing stickers means everyone can see who is part of the group and helps you find us as we move around the museum. If you see someone with a LoMAZ sticker, feel free to chat to each other.
**6.45-7.40: EXPLORE THE MUSEUM**
* We will explore the museum together. We will be visiting rooms 4, 6,7, 8 and 9. Hosts will always be there to chat to, and there will be an optional activity.

What Does Happiness Really Mean? — A Curated Dinner Conversation (50% off food)
**Meet2Click Curated Conversations**
Each Meet2Click Curated Conversation dinner centres around a carefully chosen topic or shared interest, designed to spark thoughtful conversation and meaningful connection.
Modern life is often driven by success, productivity, and constant achievement — yet we rarely pause to ask a deeper question:
**What does happiness really mean?**
Many of us equate happiness with achievement, status, or temporary pleasure.
But research suggests happiness is something more intentional — built through meaning, satisfaction, and connection.
If we don’t define it consciously, we risk chasing the wrong version of it.
At this small-group dinner experience, we will explore:
• Can happiness be built?
• Does success actually make us happy?
• Is happiness more about meaning or enjoyment?
Inspired by the happiness framework developed by Harvard professor and bestselling author Arthur Brooks, guests will receive a short overview of his key ideas two days before the event to reflect on ahead of our discussion.
This is not a debate.
It is not a lecture.
It’s a relaxed, friendly conversation around the table with curious, open-minded people.
If you value thoughtful conversation and meaningful connection, join us for an evening dedicated to exploring what happiness truly means — and whether we are living in alignment with it.
**Launch Season Benefit**
During our initial Meet2Click dinners, guests will enjoy **up to 50% off food** at the restaurant.
This introductory benefit is available for a limited launch period.
Food and drinks are paid individually, directly with the restaurant.

Cigar Box slide guitar workshop. One day 10-5pm
A great way to combine woodwork and music.
In this one-day workshop with professional woodcarver and multi-instrumental musician Jon Hall, you will learn how to build your own cigar box guitar that you can adapt to an electric or acoustic style.
Measure and cut the neck of the guitar from hardwood to fit the box, install the tuners, calculate the positions and cut the frets to create a unique and fun musical instrument. Jon can help you tune the guitar if you wish.
We supply all the parts, including the cigar box, but if you have a hankering for a Havana, you can bring your own.
Perfect for beginners.

Shut Up & Write!® East Side Columbus
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 25 at Streetlight Guild.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
**SCHEDULE:**
6:45ish - Quick introductions
7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
8:00 - The End
**OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
**BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing & I look forward to seeing you at Streetlight Guild!
**WHAT SHOULD I BRING?**
Whatever you need to be able to write! You're welcome to bring earplugs/headphones if noise will bother you!
**OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:**
* **RSVP:** Please RSVP by 6:00pm the evening of the meeting. This helps me know how many to expect, and if we'll need additional space!
* **COVID:** While masks are not required, please be mindful of the other writers around you and their comfort levels.
* **WIFI/OUTLETS:** Outlets are limited, so please ensure your devices are charged when you come! But Streetlight Guild does have free WiFi! Yay!
* **PARKING:** There is free public parking at Streetlight Guild.
Let's try a Friday Night Fish Fry!
We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM.
It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
• Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
• Show up and try it out.
• Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
• Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
• Attend orientation in advance.
• At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
• Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
• Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
