An Epic Journey: Dante's Inferno (LECTURE ON THE GO)
**The Toronto History Walks Explorer Pass is available. Get it now for $125.00 for 1 year of unlimited tours, email**
**torontohistorywalks@gmail.com**
**for more information or for signing up!**
We have an amazing "Lecture on the Go" series for 2026. New topics and fascinating stories abound! Join us and learn about the world and keep active and warm and cool during the winter and summer months!
I started this walking classroom when we were under that horrible cloud called Covid. This series was popular and helped people get back into society and life.
The "Lecture on the Go" Series is open to members who have purchased the YEARLY MEMBERSHIP PASS, it's free for those members. If you wish to attend a lecture and you are not a yearly pass member then the price **per** lecture is $20.00.
This fourth lecture is focussed on the writings by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri. We are taken on an unexpected descent into a place where every choice, mistake, and hidden truth seems to have a consequence. Dante finds himself lost, but what follows is anything but ordinary. He enters a world that is imaginative, and strangely familiar.
Dante encounters a series of surprising scenes. The landscape shifts, the atmosphere deepens, and the people he meets add a layer of realism that makes the experience personal. The structure of the story builds in intensity, revealing how each step downward uncovers something new.
What makes this work so fascinating is not just its imagery, but the questions it raises. *Inferno* invites you to think differently about consequences, and accountability, and the way stories shape our understanding. You may find yourself reconsidering ideas in new light.
In this lecture on the Go, we’ll explore *Dante’s Inferno* in a way that reveals its surprises. You’ll come away with a clear understanding of the journey, and its themes, and the remarkable way in which it was written. If you’re curious about a story that continues to challenge this is one journey you won’t want to miss.
Upcoming topics in the 2026 series:
\*Philosophy 1: Great Minds of the Western World: Goethe to Kant! - (June 2026)
\*Philosophy 2: Great Minds of the Eastern
World: Chuang Tzu to Dalai Lama - (July 2026)
The 1977 Disaster at Tenerife - (August 2026)
Legacy of Triangle: How a New York Factory Scandal changed North America - (September 2026)
This is the fourth event in the series! So book your plans now!
This event is for all levels and walkers, there are a few steps here and there to navigate, but mostly on one level. This event in a non-walking event.
The lecture begins on the steps of Old City Hall at the northeast corner of Bay Street and Queen Street West, and
has a ticket price of $20.00 per person, but **free with the yearly membership pass**.

It started out as Rush Lane, but graffiti alley today is a gritty, fascinating look into street art, and the artists who have created a space to linger and to discuss. It's far more than just a lane in the heart of Toronto, it's a conversation starter! Come and see for yourself.

Get ready for spring heat with a private tour of Cedarvale Ravine with the one and only Ernest Hemingway. He will escort you on a fascinating tour full of history and stories of his life when he was a resident of Toronto. Not to be missed! Hope to see you there1
Castle Frank Brook meandered through Cedarvale Park, and Ernest Hemingway, loved the urban tranquility this park oasis offered. At the time it was a cattle path in the heart of the city. In the 1920s and the 1930s plans to destroy the park and ravine with development was halted due to the Depression in the 1930s.
In the 1960s and 1970s, there were plans to build the Spadina Expressway which would have destroyed the park and the surrounding area.
Today, this walk is a soothing retreat into the heart of Forest Hill. And learn about Mr. Hemingway, the man, who will be the TOUR GUIDE on this tour, yes you read it correctly, he is leading this tour, and he will tell you all about his experiences, how he felt about walking in this part of the city and his strong feelings about life and Toronto in general!
This walk is for all fitness levels with some hills and inclines. And for guests wishing to bring their furry 4 legged friends, all dogs must be leashed for the walk!
We begin this walking adventure outside the St. Clair West Subway Station at the **HEATH STREET NORTH EXIT** in Forest Hill on Tichester/Heath Street west of Spadina Avenue.
This tour has a ticket price of $15.00! per person!

Over a billion documents processed. Millions of Veterans impacted. Hundreds of thousands of employee hours saved. Faster decisions. Greater accuracy. More benefits in the hands of our disabled Veterans.
We created Smart Search, the world’s largest consumer of Amazon Textract, right when GenAI began reshaping what’s possible. Since then, we’ve built a suite of AI‑driven solutions that transform this data into real, measurable outcomes—accelerating benefits decisions for our Nation’s Veterans.
Join us for a focused conversation on how an outcome‑driven approach to AI is helping us boost accuracy, streamline workflows, and deliver faster results for those who have served.
This is a follow up to the AWS re:Invent 2023 "Intelligent Document Processing with Gen AI for Public Sector" presentation.
