We’re running a beginner-friendly **soldering workshop at TOG Hackerspace for Engineers Week**. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to solder (or just get more confident with it), this is a hands-on session that starts from the basics and finishes with you building something real. Like our previous soldering workshops, we’ll cover safe tool use, good technique, and the common mistakes that catch people out. ## What to expect In this class, our instructors will guide you through the process of soldering components onto a circuit board. We’ll start with the fundamentals — how to use a soldering iron properly, how to get a clean joint, and how to spot (and fix) issues — then you’ll build your own project. ### New for this Engineers Week edition: choose your kit On the night, you’ll get to **pick one of five different kits** and build it after the lesson. Each kit is designed to be achievable for beginners, with help on hand if you get stuck. This event has a different topic each time and includes a variety of interactive exercises. It's an engaging and creative way to express ourselves, and connect with how others think, feel and deal with life. We will aim to provide a supportive and sate environment and open up about our lives freely. A lot of times we don't talk about what we are really going through because we are worried of what people might think of us. This causes us to bottle things up, feel disconnected with the people around us or feel ashamed of ourselves. Anything you share in the session is confidential and shall not be disclosed outside of the room. Please only RSVP if you intend to come and change your RSVP to 'No' if you are not going to be able to attend. • **PRICE:** 5 € to cover the room (Revolut/Cash/ Paypal). Please pay the fee after the workshop. • **TIME:** We will start at 19:25 and finish at 20:55. This tour will cover the history of Michael Collins. The 1922 handover as it really happened, Collins roles as soldier and spy, his involvement in the 1916 Easter Rising, his internment at Frongoch the Anglo-Irish Treaty negotiations, the War of Independance, the Dublin Castle spy network the Squad and other key events like Bloody Sunday and the murder of McKee, Clancy, and Clune. Dream Circle Game Imagine a game that changes the way you see yourself and the world with every session — if you are willing to let it. Imagine a game where you do not leave the table as the same person who sat down to play, unless it is your conscious choice to remain the same. Imagine a game that is at the same time a challenge, a simulation, a mystery, an exploration, a laboratory of decisions, a social experiment, and a catalyst for unexpected conversations. Could such a game exist? For us, this is not a theoretical question. For some time now, we have been working on creating it. Dream Circle is an experiential game where players explore how collective dreams turn into reality. Through a sequence of turns representing time, participants make decisions about how to grow their community, what to build, where to invest, and how to develop purpose-driven impact businesses within a small emerging world shaped by cooperation and limited resources. The game relies on real-world data wherever reasonably possible. Behind the game there is also a deeper narrative and lore that gradually unfolds for those who wish to explore it. On the temple of Apollo at Delphi it was once written: “Know thyself.” Dream Circle is but another stone in the staircase of that endless journey.

Come join me in cleaning up litter at Dillon's Park in Dalkey. I will supply a cart, bags/buckets, litter grabbers, and occasionally a dog (for morale). Feel free to bring your own equipment if you have it. Here's the plan: 1. Meet at the park entrance 2. Collect litter around the park. 3. Circle back to the starting point when finished. Note that we will walk in wet grass/mud on occasion and will be handling litter, so best to wear appropriate clothes, footwear and gloves. Please check weather before attending to ensure you're dressed for it. Feel free to drop in or out at whatever time suits you.
