Agentic Coding in the Wild
Agentic Coding in the Wild
In collaboration with **Zalando Switzerland**, we explore how AI agents are transforming software engineering. **Note:** These two talks will be held in **English**. **1st Talk:** Title: **Agentic Coding in the Wild** **Ole Wendland** shares hands-on experience on delegating technical tasks while maintaining human oversight. **The Core Concept:** Tasks like boilerplate, tests, and glue code are delegable, but **business logic and architecture** remain a human responsibility. The developer’s role shifts to a steering authority: **"Trust, but verify."** **Key Takeaways:** * **Precision Matters:** Agents execute what is explicitly described, not what is implicitly meant. * **Real-World Challenges:** From complex debugging (symptom vs. cause) to potential knowledge loss through over-delegation. * **The Shift:** Teams and organizations must adapt to a new, accelerated pace of development. Discover how **Agentic Coding** drives massive efficiency when combined with clear control and structured processes. **2nd Talk:** Title: **Data Engineering with Codex** **Andy Bloechliger**, Backend Engineer at Zalando This talk offers a practical look at how a Zalando data engineer uses the Codex AI agent to automate daily workflows, providing actionable tips for mastering agentic tools and a glimpse into the road ahead for AI-powered teams.

intergenerational women's circle Women Who Wonder
intergenerational women's circle Women Who Wonder
## Women Who Wonder Intergenerational Women's Circle (Second Meeting) Women Who Wonder is a biweekly circle in Zurich, for women between 18 and 108 years old. We sit together for 90 minutes, facilitated, not to advise but to share, listen to and witness each other. When it's truly heard, your story becomes wisdom Gathering in circles is one of the oldest human practices we know of. First Nations peoples in North America developed the talking circle with a talking piece to ensure that each person is heard. Women gathered in moon lodges, and in Anishinaabe full moon ceremonies women sit in a circle from youngest to oldest, passing wisdom between generations. Since the industrialisation of the 19th century, we have been segregated into age groups: school classes, work, elderly people on their own. We miss out on exchange between generations, which research links to greater well-being, stronger resilience, and even longer lives. This is why I created Women Who Wonder. Each woman speaks without interruption and can ask for the kind of response she would like, or none at all. We pass an hourglass as our talking piece. Being witnessed this way creates a tangible, lifting energy. Whether you bring the wisdom of elders or of youth, of motherhood or of those without children, join us. ### How it works To create a safe and confidential space, every attendee signs our circle agreements on arrival. The essentials: we don't interrupt, we are non-judgemental, we don't fix, and we don't sell services. What is shared in the circle stays in the circle. You don't have to prepare anything. Just come as you are. ### About me I'm Barbara, a coach, healer, and gynaecologist and obstetrician. In this circle I am a facilitator, not a medical advisor. I feel it is time for women to support each other, to learn with and from each other across generations. ### Practical details The first three meetings are free. Places are limited to 20 women. Further meetings will be CHF 50 per session. Sponsorship is available on request. The circle is held in Swiss German and English. Location: Café Bar Flor, Seefeldstrasse 63, 8008 Zürich Date: Friday, 8 May 2026, 5:00–6:30 pm
Product Night: Sustainable Discovery & Navigating Organizational Readiness 🚀
Product Night: Sustainable Discovery & Navigating Organizational Readiness 🚀
We all know that product work isn’t just about developing features. It’s about making product work sustainable - from keeping discovery alive over time to getting products launched without wasting too much energy on alignment, stakeholder management, and organisational friction. That’s often where product work starts to slip: discovery isn’t maintained, launches stall, and too much effort goes into managing the system instead of building the product. Join the **Product Academy** community at Westpark Zurich for an evening of raw insights, real-world failures, and proven frameworks from two industry experts. **Who is this for?** * The Strategist: PMs who want to use Opportunity Solution Trees (OST) to build the right thing faster. * The Change-Maker: PMs in large corporates are tired of "stalled" launches and stakeholder misalignment. * The Lifelong Learner: Anyone looking to network with the Zurich product community. **Limited spots available**. **The Lineup:** **Vivienne Clement (Product Owner @ Swiss Post)** * Talk: What happens when the Product is ready, but the Organisation isn't? * The Vibe: A deep dive into the "political" side of PMing. Learn how to manage stakeholder buy-in and overcome hidden resistance when **launching AI and B2B products** in large corporations. **John Huertas (Product Manager @ Swiss Re)** * Talk: Making Continuous Discovery & Opportunity Solution Trees Sustainable. * The Vibe: Move beyond theory. John shares lessons from a multi-year journey of experimentation to show how teams can bring more discipline to discovery, improve prioritisation, and make product decisions with greater confidence. **The details:** * 📅 When: May 7, 2026 * ⏰ Time: 18:30 CET * 📍 Where: Westpark Zurich Grab your seat and let’s level up your product game together!
Handstand Training (Open Level)
Handstand Training (Open Level)
Sundays, 2pm-3pm. Trial class: CHF 20 Drop-in: CHF 35 Book here: www.balancewithale.com/zurich/handstand "I'll never be able to handstand". You kick at the wall but see no progress. Your wrists hurt. You don't know how to improve... It doesn't have to be this way. Progress doesn't come from trying harder — it comes from practicing smarter. Handstands are a skill, and when you train them as such, they begin to click in a way that feels almost magical. This class builds the foundations (strength, alignment and technique) that make handstands feel achievable and fun. Through clear progressions and personalized drills, you'll discover how capable your body truly is, and how handstands start to feel within reach when you train with intention and support. Because drills are tailored to you, the class welcomes all levels — from "I've never kicked up before" to confident freestanding balancers who want to develop greater control.

Fearless Living
Fearless Living
**Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you?** Many of us find ourselves stuck in situations that drain our happiness, yet we can’t seem to gather the momentum to break free. It could be an unhealthy relationship, a job that leaves you unfulfilled, social anxiety, or the relentless grip of worry. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—millions, if not billions, of people face the same struggles. But here’s the interesting part—fear loses its grip the moment you confront it. The more closely you examine it, the weaker it becomes. Fear thrives in the shadows, and once exposed to light, it begins to dissolve. I invite you to join me for a few hours of practical learning where we’ll explore techniques to help you take charge of your fears. Together, we’ll fast-track your progress by sharing tools and insights that I’ve gathered through personal experience—lessons learned the hard way. **Fearless Living** was created as a space for us to tackle our fears head-on. Through regular workshops, we teach participants how to recognize, manage, and reduce the impact of fear so it no longer stands in the way of living fully. Let me be clear—I’m not a therapist, psychologist, or any kind of professional “-ist.” I’m simply someone who has wrestled with fear and come out the other side with insights to share. This event isn’t designed for those dealing with severe trauma or crisis, but for those ready to take that first step toward breaking free from the everyday fears that hold us back. If you’re ready to loosen fear’s hold on your life, I’d love for you to join us. **Feedback from previous workshop attendees:** [https://www.meetup.com/living-without-fear/feedback-overview/](https://www.meetup.com/living-without-fear/feedback-overview/) **Jafar** \- "Rocco embodies a wealth of practical experiences in truly living life\. In this event\, he explores one of the most fundamental human emotions: fear\, and inspires us on how to live fearlessly\. His preparation and engaging workshop include practical exercises that empower participants\. If you are on the path of self\-awareness\, this workshop is an invaluable opportunity to join\." **Nadima** \- "Brainstorm was very interesting\! It started like any other creative meeting\- whiteboard markers in hand\. The goal? The ideas felt safe\. We started asking real questions\. The brainstorm turned into a kind of therapy\. Vulnerability became the source of our most powerful ideas\. What made that brainstorm unforgettable wasn‘t the outcome\- it was the shift\. Sometimes\, solving the problem means confronting what we never thought to name\." **Mark** \- "I really connected to Rocco and he helped in giving me tools to face my fears\. A great workshop\." **Kenny** \- "The workshop truly empowered me to analyze my fear of public speaking and provided strategies for overcoming it\." **Nico** \- "Thanks for doing this\. I perceived your workshop as very useful with practical techniques that participants can apply without any prior knowledge\. Also\, you are clearly very passionate and competent about fear and ways to deal with it\. I'm looking forward to applying your techniques\!" **Kai** \- "Rocco knows his stuff\. He is able to create an atmosphere where it feels natural to talk about such an intimate topic as your personal fear\. I learned a lot\, about fear and about myself\!" **J.K.** \- "The topics we discussed resonated with me and I felt totally safe and relaxed to hear what bothered me\. Helpful and gives that kick to start acting for the better"\. **J. Zhu** \- "Everything you said in the workshop resonated with me\."\. **Alex** \- "You don't know what you walk into but it doesn't disappoint\. Rocco provides a unique atmosphere that encourages self\-reflection and taking action\." **Agi** \- "Thank you for providing us a great workshop\! CBusData - Practical AI for Power BI Developers
CBusData - Practical AI for Power BI Developers
Practical AI for Power BI Developers A year ago, “agentic AI” was mostly hype for Power BI teams. Today, it deserves your undivided attention. For Power BI pros, there is now a real opportunity to reduce repetitive development work, accelerate delivery, and help developers do more, but only when strong DataOps practices are in place to make AI workflows effective. This session is a no-nonsense introduction to effective AI patterns for Power BI and Fabric development. Along the way, we will make sense of the growing pile of terminology, including skills, plugins, hooks, and MCP. You will see examples of how modern AI tooling can help with development tasks across Power BI and Fabric, along with the prerequisites, guardrails, and DataOps principles needed to use it responsibly. Whether you're burned out on AI hype or already using Copilot CLI daily, this session will show you the foundations that are finally making AI-assisted development genuinely useful.
