Raja Yoga - Online Course
This course, facilitated by Wendy Dixon, explores the concepts and exercises in Wallace Slater’s book *A Simplified Course of Raja Yoga*, which follows the Yoga Sutras or Aphorisms of Patanjali.
We meet online every Wednesday night and follow the 10-lesson structure created by Slater, allowing a month for each lesson. We will thoroughly explore each step, with time for discussion and practice.
Each session contains material on one or more of the eight limbs of yoga, so named by Patanjali - self-restraint (yama), self-discipline (niyama), posture (āsana), control of breath (prānayāma), control of the sense (pratyāhāra), concentration (dhāranā), meditation (dhyāna) and contemplation (samādhi).
Additional material is sourced from I. K. Taimni, Swami Vivekananda, H. P. Blavatsky and contemporary Raja Yoga books.
We begin and close each session with sitting meditations.
**This is an ongoing course that you can join at any time.**

The Secret Lives of Colour - March 2026 Big Ideas Book Club
**The Secret Lives of Colour, by Kassia St Clair**
The Secret Lives of Colour tells the unusual stories of the 75 most fascinating shades, dyes and hues. From blonde to ginger, the brown that changed the way battles were fought to the white that protected against the plague, Picasso’s blue period to the charcoal on the cave walls at Lascaux, acid yellow to kelly green, and from scarlet women to imperial purple, these surprising stories run like a bright thread throughout history.
In this book Kassia St Clair has turned her lifelong obsession with colours and where they come from (whether Van Gogh’s chrome yellow sunflowers or punk’s fluorescent pink) into a unique study of human civilisation. Across fashion and politics, art and war, The Secret Lives of Colour tell the vivid story of our culture.

The 9 Senses Awakening: Healing Circle & Fire Ritual
### Healing Circle • Reflection • Release
📅 **Wednesday, 25 March 2026**
🕖 **7:00 PM – 9:30 PM**
📍 **RYVE**
Level 1, 38 Shafton St, Huntingdale VIC 3166
## A Space to Pause, Reflect, and Let Go
Sometimes in life we carry things quietly inside us.
Old emotions.
Unspoken words.
Past experiences.
Stress, heartbreak, grief, or simply the weight of moving through the world.
We keep going, often without giving ourselves the space to truly process what we’ve been holding.
This evening is an invitation to **pause**.
To breathe.
To reconnect with yourself.
And if you feel ready — to gently release what you no longer need to carry.
The last **9 Senses Awakening Healing Circle** I hosted became one of the most beautiful and meaningful gatherings I’ve experienced. Many people shared that it gave them a rare moment to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves in a deeper way.
Because of that experience, I’ve felt called to create this space again.
This event is **open to everyone** and **not limited to singles**. Anyone who feels drawn to a quiet evening of reflection, awareness, and personal growth is warmly welcome.
## The 9 Senses Awakening
Throughout the evening we will explore awareness through **nine layers of human perception**.
The physical senses
• Sight
• Sound
• Smell
• Taste
• Touch
The inner senses
• Intuition
• Emotional awareness
The subtle senses
• Energy (vibration and presence)
• Spiritual connection
Through simple guided practices, breath awareness, and mindful reflection, we reconnect with these senses — helping us return to presence and inner clarity.
## Healing Circle & Sharing
This evening is held in a **healing circle**, creating a space where everyone is seen, heard, and respected.
There is **no pressure to speak**. You are welcome to simply listen and be present.
For those who wish to share, the circle allows space for reflection and connection with others who may be navigating their own journeys.
## Fire Ritual – Letting Go
Toward the end of the evening we will take part in a **symbolic fire ritual**.
Participants will be invited to write down something they are ready to release — a past story, emotional weight, fear, resentment, or something that has been quietly sitting in their hearts.
As the paper burns, we symbolically allow that chapter to transform.
Many people describe this moment as **deeply moving and liberating**.
## What to Expect
• A calm and supportive environment
• Guided sensory awareness and reflection
• A healing circle and optional sharing
• A symbolic fire ritual for release
• A small and intimate group experience
No previous experience with meditation or healing circles is required.
Simply bring yourself, exactly as you are.
## Hosted by Vivienne Vu

**Business Analysis in AWS IAM Access Analyzer**
Speaker: Hazra Ali
Level: 100
Business analysis plays a crucial role in helping organisations implement change to address challenges and leverage solutions that deliver value. AWS IAM Access Analyzer helps organisations grant precise permissions as requirements evolve, guiding users toward least privilege by enabling them to set, verify, and refine permissions.
In this presentation, Hazra will explore how business analysis practices can enhance the effectiveness of IAM Access Analyzer when solving real-world problems. The session will also discuss how AI can support business analysis workflows and assist in understanding the core concepts behind IAM Access Analyzer.
***
**Reinforcing Resilience in the Real World with Static Stability, Fault Isolation and Multiple Regions**
Speaker: Anshika Gupta
Level: 200
At AWS, resilience is viewed as a continuous process, built on years of experience working with customers operating critical workloads.
In this session, Anshika will explore how to design systems using AWS fault isolation boundaries and the concept of static stability to achieve predictable recovery times and high availability.
You’ll learn:
• How AWS Regions are designed and operated for resilience
• Key architectural patterns AWS services use to maintain operations during disruptions
• How static stability helps maintain availability under failure conditions
• Practical architecture patterns for building multi-region resilience
This session will showcase design principles, best practices, and example architectures that can help you meet your resilience requirements for mission-critical workloads.

The Power of Observation
Join, Stephen Fiyalko, past President of the Melbourne Theosophical Society, Level 1, 234 Flinders Lane for our weekly meditation and discussion group on the Laws (principles not rules) of the Universe.
This week on Friday, 27 March at 5:30pm we will precede our discussion with Krishnamurti’s views as presented in the short video ‘The Art of Observation’.
We find that the clarity of our observations of every aspect of ourselves and the world or universe around us is shaped within the Laws of the Universe and specifically by the Law of Relativity .
The premise of the Laws of the Universe and these discussions are that there are no co-incidences in life. Their purpose is revealed by our experiences within the Law of Cause and Effect and all of the Laws in tandem which are designed to teach us about ourselves and foster growing awareness leading to spiritual transformation. Thus our lives, spiritual growth and consciousness carry us on a very purposeful, personal journey.
Participants are encouraged to share their own stories as part of the continuing discussion. We start each session with meditation and a brief energetic self attunement which draws on the power of the Laws to effect balance. This week a short audio-video will precede our open discussion.
Each session is free, but contributions are welcome.
Men’s Resilience & Reflection Group Weekly Get-Together
This supportive program invites men to come together in a safe and respectful space to share experiences, explore challenges, and reflect on what matters most in their lives. Participants are welcome to bring a topic of their own or simply speak about what’s happening for them in the moment.
Guided discussion topics may include navigating masculinity, communication styles, understanding personal needs and the needs of others, building resilience, connecting with emotions, and clarifying values—along with other issues that commonly impact men in relationships and daily life. When a topic is raised, participants are encouraged to explore how it relates to their own experiences, offering insights and reflections in a way that supports learning and growth.
The facilitator participates alongside the group, modeling respectful sharing, open discussion, and thoughtful reflection, ensuring that everyone feels heard and empowered to engage at their own pace.
Engineering Machine Consciousness Monthly Meetup
The discussion topic for this meetup will be identity and whether or not history is a necessary condition for consciousness as Dretske proposed.

Introduction to Curative Eurythmy: A Three-Session Experience
Join us for a unique workshop hosted by Jenny Kuznetsova on Curative Eurythmy: Movement for everyday wellbeing, an introduction.
Held over three consecutive Saturdays, 14th, 21st, 28th March 2026, 11am-12pm, the participants will have an opportunity to experience this extraordinary modality.
Curative Eurythmy is a movement modality that creates harmony in the whole being. Through specifically curated movements, our three bodies, physical, emotional and mental are moved into incredible balance.
The movements work strongly on the circulatory system and as such create organic deep activation of the breath. As the movements activate circulation in the body as well as flooding it with the health giving breath, the after effects create feelings of inner nourishment, strength and vitality.
Curative Eurythmy is able to help with physical, emotional and mental imbalances as well as provide a general boost to our overall wellbeing that is so vital in an age where the nervous system is constantly overwhelmed with the pace of life.
You are invited to try this unique and potent modality and experience the benefits firsthand.

Using Philosophy to Cope with Current Events
So this month's prompt is more general. I think we can all agree that we are living in "unique" times that require coping skills. I think that one role and/or purpose of philosophy is to help us deal with our daily lives and our "unique" times. So, let's share our feelings and thoughts about which philosopher/philosophy we turn to in order to deal with our crazy events. Who/what helps you stay focused in your daily life and helps you sleep at night. I find that Stoicism with a little philosophical pessimism mixed in goes a long way in helping me deal with what I see as very destructive, fearful and mean spirited public policies at both the state and federal levels. Hope to see you on March 28th!

From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way.

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations.
If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!).
**HOW IT WORKS**
**Step 1: Bring a topic**
Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event.
**Step 2: Circle up & share**
We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds.
**Step 3: Walk, talk & float**
We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!"
**Step 4: Feel more alive**
Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times.
*For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)*
**HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC**
A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about.
Recent topics include:
* "What are you passionate about right now?"
* "What makes a good friend?"
* "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?"
* "How do you want to be remembered?"
* "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?"
Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter.
**WHAT TO EXPECT**
This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.*
But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here.
**FAQ**
* Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk!
* We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space.
* We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space.
* Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know.
* Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic!
**LOGISTICS**
* If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event.
* This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs.
* Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details.
* If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋
**IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...**
[The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up.
* This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
BASEBALL IS BACK!! Clippers' Home Saturday Opener!!! ⚾ 🧢 🌭 🎆 🧨 🎇 🗽 🦅 🇺🇸
**Summary**
Celebrate America's 250th year and the [Columbus Clippers'](https://www.milb.com/columbus) 50th season by watching [Franklin County's](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbus_Clippers) best team play the [best game in the world](https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/babe_ruth_140116) at [one of the ten best](https://www.dispatch.com/story/sports/minors/2025/03/26/huntington-park-voted-top-10-minor-league-ballparks-usa-today-10best-awards/82656048007/) baseball stadiums in the United States in their 2026 home Saturday opener!
The first pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. The gates always open an hour before the scheduled first pitch. I'm usually at the ballpark a half an hour before the scheduled first pitch. Clippers' games usually last around two and a half hours.
Being a few minutes early will help us secure good seats.
**Parking**
I personally always like to park in the [McConnell Garage](https://www.google.com/maps/place/McConnell+Garage/@39.9685114,-83.0103938,17z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x88388f24145462d1:0x6238c0f0c851ab70!8m2!3d39.9692957!4d-83.0081175!16s%2Fg%2F1jkw6y27y?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MTExNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D). If nothing else is going on in the area, this should be $7. However, I've also seen it be as high as $22. I can't say for certain what it will be for this game, but once I know, I will post in the comments.
Alternately, there are other lots in the area you can try which will probably be a few dollars cheaper. [Here is a map](https://img.mlbstatic.com/milb-images/image/upload/q_auto/milb/ernng44ya2xkr4wbheql) of all the garages and lots surrounding the stadium. Keep in mind that many of these are outdoor lots and your car will be out in the elements.
If you decide to look for a different lot, I would mildly recommend either the Buggyworks Lot or the Broadbelt Lot, but I have never parked in either of these myself. Although it won't apply for this game, keep in mind that street parking is also free citywide in Columbus on [Sundays and holidays](https://www.columbus.gov/files/sharedassets/city/v/1/public-service/right-of-way-permit/on-street-parking-out-of-service-policy-and-procedure-final-8.15.2022-signed.pdf).
**Where We'll Be**
Here is a [map of the ballpark](https://img.mlbstatic.com/milb-images/image/upload/milb/qkqohbqjgtx5uwo6zkgn.pdf).
We'll be sitting on Level 3 of the [Left Field Building](https://www.milb.com/columbus/ballpark/huntington-park) (aka the "AEP Power Pavilion"), which features a 110 foot bar with six open patios overlooking the field. This area is covered and will be out of any sun or rain that may transpire.
If you enter the park through the Center Field Entrance (which is at the intersection of Nationwide Blvd. and Neil Ave.), there will be a door to your immediate right after you enter that leads to a staircase up into the Tower.
This door is not well-marked, and if you've never been to Huntington Park before, you may wonder if you're actually allowed to go in and up the stairs. Yes, you are.
We'll be on the Tower's "Level 3". I have uploaded to the Photos section of this event page, below, a picture of the sign you want look for after you ascend the stairs, so you'll know you're on the correct floor.
**Tickets**
Do not buy your tickets ahead of time. They will literally be twice as expensive if you buy them on Ticketmaster.
Instead, go to the ticket window near the Center Field Entrance. Buy a *Standing Room Only* ticket (don't worry, you won't be standing), which will cost you a flat $8 with no other taxes or fees.
These tickets never sell out, and this is the cheapest way to get into the park.
**Carry-Ins**
Per the team's [website](https://www.milb.com/columbus/ballpark/a-z-guide): "Soft-sided coolers are permitted in the general seating area [which is where we'll be], but not hard-sided coolers; also no alcohol, glass bottles, or cans will be permitted. SMALL bags or backpacks of food items and beverages in plastic bottles are ok. Reusable water bottles are permitted, but must be empty upon arrival. Diaper bags are allowed."
I always bring a disposable plastic bottle of water and refill it as I need at the park. Bottled water at the game is something like 4 or 5 dollars. So if you want a bottle of water, I recommend bringing your own bottle instead of buying it at the park.
**Food & Drink**
The area we'll be in has burgers, hot dogs, salads, soft pretzels, ice cream, and other sorts of things you would expect at a baseball game. I've posted pics of the menu in the Photos section, below.
The burger and fries are $14 plus tax, and they're not bad. (This is what I usually get.) The beer is *really* overpriced. It's like $9, or $20 for a pitcher. If there's some people to help me drink it, though, I'll buy a pitcher of Michelob Ultra.
While we'll be on the penultimate floor of the Tower, the top floor (which has a great view, but is fully exposed to the elements) has a [Dirty Frank's](https://dirtyfranks.com/) hot dog stand. I've never gotten anything from there, though I've been told it's good.
The Donatos pizza stand is also a very short walk away from where we'll be. I love Donatos, but the pizza is so expensive at the ballpark. It's like $9 for a personal-sized pepperoni. It is good, though.
