Women's Walk (Immunocompromised-Friendly)
*Sometimes we invite Neurodivergent District members to join a virtual event from our Constellations community. We’re glad you’re here.* *Just to clarify, attending this event doesn’t include access to the Constellations member portal or membership. If you’d like ongoing access to events like this, along with curated member introductions for friendship or dating, you’re welcome to explore joining [Constellations](https://www.harringtonmatchmaking.com/constellations-membership).* Join us for a gentle, low-pressure walk at Brookside Gardens for women who want to connect in a calm, supportive environment. This is a space designed for ease: • small group, outdoors, and intentionally slower-paced • no pressure to socialize in any particular way We’ll spend time walking, talking (if you want to), and enjoying the gardens together at a relaxed pace. This gathering is created with care for those who are immunocompromised or benefit from a more accessible, lower-stimulation setting. To support participants with sensitivities, we ask that everyone consider arriving fragrance-free. **Please RSVP using the link below (not just Meetup)** so we can share the exact meeting location, route, and any weather updates. Hiking with Sparkles
Hiking with Sparkles
Let’s enjoy some nature together before it gets too hot! Huntley Meadows offers a nice mostly flat walk through the woods and into a protected marshland with plentiful wildlife including birds, frogs, turtles, and a beaver or two if we’re lucky! It’s gorgeous and really feels like being out in nature although we get to stay in Alexandria :) We will meet at the benches outside the Nature Center (a short walk from the parking lot) at 10am and do a loop into the marshlands. Folks can join for as much or as little walking as desired; it’s only 1-3 miles to explore the park. We can also explore the nature center or picnic a bit before/after our walk as desired. Kids and dogs will love this one so bring the family :)
NW DC Trails Hike
NW DC Trails Hike
This coming Sunday promises to be like early summer, so dress accordingly and don't forget to bring bug spray and sunscreen. Starting from the Tenl;eytown Metro Station at noon, we’ll first walk down to the Glover-Archbold trailhead on Van Ness Street and head south along a dirt trail. After a few miles we’ll turn east on the Whitehaven Trail., which is surprisingly rough for a short stretch. We will stop for water and a bathroom break at the Trader Joe's on Wisconsin Avenue. Then we’ll continue through Dumbarton Oaks to the Rock Creek trail, where we'll head north. That's a dirt trail until Connecticut Avenue, where it will become an asphalt trail that will take us past the Zoo and eventually to Peirce Mill, scene of Saturday's annual Picnic. A short distance later we’ll head up the Soapstone Trail to Connecticut Avenue, which we'll take southward to our ending point at the Van Ness Metro. Nearby you can enjoy optional beers at the Dog Haus Biergarten Van Ness (website: [https://locations.doghaus.com/locations/dc/washington/4340-connecticut-avenue-nw-retail-space-5](https://locations.doghaus.com/locations/dc/washington/4340-connecticut-avenue-nw-retail-space-5)). We meet at noon in front of the Panera on Wisconsin Avenue @ Ablemarle Street, near the eastern exit of the Tenleytown Metro Station. We should finish by 4:30 p.m. Bring plenty of water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, and the $5 Adventuring trip fee (cash or Venmo). AGUARDIENTE - World Premiere Musical!
AGUARDIENTE - World Premiere Musical!
Join us for the world premiere of the musical ***Aguardiente: Where Magic Transcends Borders,*** commissioned by GALA and conceived by Helen Hayes multi-award winner Luis Salgado from Puerto Rico and Colombian artist Daniel Alejandro Gutiérrez. Blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as bomba, currulao, and cumbia, and Gabriel García Márquez’s magical realism, Aguardiente is a bold new musical about the messy, urgent act of making art in a world on fire. As a group of artists race to finish a new show, their rehearsal room becomes a battleground of ideas, ambition, and lived experience—especially for a composer whose undocumented status makes the dream of success anything but simple. As the team wrestles with what story they should tell, the line between reality and imagination begins to blur, until—like two currents meeting in the same river—the artists’ own struggles spill into the story they are creating: a vibrant tale set in a river town on the brink of environmental collapse, where two young lovers must decide whether to stay and fight for their homeland or leave in pursuit of a dream, making Aguardiente a theatrical journey about migration, memory, and the complicated act of transforming real lives into art. **PERFORMANCES:** ***Aguardiente*** is a bilingual production with surtitles in English and Spanish, and runs April 30 through May 24, 2026. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. The show is approximately 160 minutes long and includes one intermission. Community Night is Thursday, April 30. Noche de GALA, which includes a post-performance reception with the cast and creative team, is Saturday, May 2, under the honorary patronage of His Excellency Daniel García-Peña Jaramillo, Ambassador of Colombia to the U.S. **TICKETS:** Regular tickets for ***Aguardiente*** are $60 Premium, $55 Orchestra Standard, $45 Orchestra Value, and $35 Balcony Value; $35 Seniors (65+), Military, Teachers, and Groups (10+); $25 25 and Under; Community Night tickets are $25 each and Noche de GALA: Chosen ticket price + $5 (per person). **[GET TICKETS HERE](https://ci.ovationtix.com/35923/production/1245626)** **CAST:** ***Aguardiente: Where Magic Transcends Borders*** features an 18-people multicultural cast that includes Samuel Garnica (Venezuela) as Alberto, Sebastián Treviño (Colombia and Mexico) as Alejandro, Vin Ramos (Puerto Rico) as Azuquita, Ana Luisa Martínez (Mexico) as Anís, Shayla Hernández (Puerto Rico) as Kiara, Emy Ramos (Dominican Republic and United States) as Beta, Eric González (Spain) as Eve, Machirán (Cuba) as Pepe/MC, and Leanna “Leah” Finol (Venezuela and Hungary) as Mamá/Mom. Meaningful Conversation and Coffee - Northside Social Falls Church
Meaningful Conversation and Coffee - Northside Social Falls Church
**Join us in Falls Church for conversations that go beyond small talk.** Higher Grounds – Falls Church is where this growing network of gatherings began: a space for thoughtful, authentic dialogue about what matters most. Whether we’re exploring the nature of happiness, the challenges and possibilities of midlife, spirituality, culture, capitalism, parenting, or the role of art and travel in a meaningful life, every conversation is shaped by the people in the room. There’s no set leader or rigid agenda—just a shared commitment to listen as much as we speak. We start with brief introductions focused on what makes you *you* (not your LinkedIn bio), then dive straight into whatever is on people’s minds. The direction of each meetup emerges organically, making every event unique. MANDATORY: PLEASE REVIEW OUR COMMUNITY GUIDELINES IN THE GROUP DESCRIPTION. Everyone is expected to engage in respectful conversations and listen deeply as well as share. We have a zero tolerance policy of sexual harassment and hate speech.
