Lately we have all had to deal with lies and the lying liars who tell them. How do I deal with people who simply ignore the rules; disregarding Society’s norms, basic human decency, existing law, and judicial rulings? When political actors ignore or corrupt the system to their advantage? When does my continuing to follow these “rules” become ineffective - since the old rules no longer are working? What is the tipping point for me to acknowledge that the system I am used to has changed and new approaches are needed? What are ethical responses in such an environment? Does my commitment to “bringing out the best in others” become feckless? I will outline these concerns and then everyone can explore them further in small discussion groups. Celebrating our many March Birthdays (including mine!) has become an annual tradition at Slater Run Vineyards. For 300 years, the Slater family has farmed along Goose Creek. In 2010,they added the grapevines and the rest is history. They grow 13 acres of vines on site and specialize in Bordeaux Style Red Blends. Slater Run Vineyards offers a Hunt Country wine experience with sweeping views overlooking the vineyard from a bright and airy tasting room. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
