London Bisexuals Monthly Social
Our regular social on the fourth Thursday every month, in a Soho bar. Great for new members; very friendly, relaxed atmosphere, definitely social, fun, and happy; not meat-market, just informal chat and optional drinks from the bar. Come say hi and hang out!
This is our main regular event. All bi+ people welcome (so including pansexual, m-spec queer etc.), plus supportive partners, anyone bi-curious/questioning, and practicing allies - no biphobia, racism, transphobia or other bigotry allowed! If you have extra needs or questions, please get in touch via Meetup messaging/social media.
⚫ Who/what to expect...
Pre-pandemic pub meets were 30-40 people, we're back near those numbers again; there will be a good mix of regulars and first-timers (roughly half and half - always a lot of new faces every time), genders (not too far from an even split of men/women, a few of whom might be trans — of course non-binary people welcome too), a mix of ethnicities similar to or sometimes even more diverse than the London population, and some neurodiversity (not all neurotypical people). The odd couple/+1 too.
This keeps it fresh and friendly to all - regulars chat to new folk. New members won't be the only new person (by a long way) so you shouldn't feel left out. If you turn up after the start and it looks like everyone already knows everyone - it only seems like that; its just how friendly we are. We finish late so we're used to people coming and going all through the evening.
Most people arrive within the first hour, it's busiest at 9-9.30pm but a crowd is around til at least 10pm, often later (sometimes even a handful til closing).
⚫ Social Media / Further details:
We also use Twitter/a little Instagram and a Facebook Page for news, issues, updates and activism from the community in London and further afield. The group accounts are happy to be tagged for bi content but respect individuals' privacy (eg. avoid identifying anyone without consent).
Official events always on Meetup, but links often shared on social media and LinkedIn/our Discord chat server.
Twitter @londonbi / Instagram @londonbisexualsmeetup / Facebook Page and LinkedIn: London Bisexuals Meetup Group (all use our logo).
Links via our campsite bio (bottom of list): https://campsite.bio/londonbi
After the meet finishes (between events), continue the chat via our Discord server (needs a separate account): https://discord.gg/PvZBDVu or official WhatsApp group (ask for invite/check comments here sometimes).

Make New Friends At A Bookshop
Do you want to meet new people in a relaxing chill atmosphere surrounded by new books? Do you dislike loud and smelly places like pubs and clubs? This is the event for you.
Science and Philosophy Book Club is creating a new kind of meetup where people who love books and knowledge can meet new friends in a big book shop. We will explore around different sections of the book shop together as a group while making interesting conversations with each other. We will go to both fiction and non-fiction areas.
If you feel shy and feel nervous to come alone, I will make sure you will feel comfortable and accomodate to your needs. I will help introduce you to others so you can go over the barrier of anxiety when approaching a new person.
We will meet on the ground floor lounge area of Doubletree Hilton Hotel at 6 p.m. It is an amazing cosy bar with classy vibes. We will wait for everyone to show up while getting some drinks and socializing. At 7 p.m we will head to the Waterstones book store near Russel Square and UCL. After we explore the book store, we will come back to the hotel bar and stay there for the rest of the night.
This event requires £5 donation to cover the venue fees. You can pay via cash or card. Thank you for helping the book club!
Lesbian Book Club (Women Only)
**What this is**
A relaxed Sunday afternoon book club for lesbian and bisexual women, meeting in person.
This is our first event and we will discuss which book we plan to read. It’s low-pressure, calm, and easy to settle into the event.
Women usually range from their 20s through to their 60s. Most sessions are a genuine mix of new faces and returning women, so you won’t be the only person coming for the first time.
Most people come on their own. That’s normal here, and we make sure you don’t feel it. Hosts introduce people, keep things flowing, and make the space feel easy rather than awkward.
If you’re feeling nervous, you won’t be the only one. Many women feel that way before their first book club and end up staying longer than they expected.
**Current book club format**
There isn't a set book for this session.
Bring along whatever you're currently reading, have recently finished, or are thinking about reading next. We'll chat about books, swap recommendations, and discuss what everyone has been enjoying.
If you'd like a suggestion, some members are currently reading:
1\. My Year in Paris with Gertrude Stein by Deborah Levy
2\. All My Mothers by Joanna Glen
No preparation needed. Come whether you've read a lot recently or not. Listening, chatting, and discovering new books is just as welcome as discussing one you've loved.
**Important**
This is a female-only lesbian space.
That boundary is clear and upheld at events.
If that doesn’t work for you, this won’t be the right event.
**How to attend**
You must register in advance to attend.

MUSEUM LATES FOR DATES: Straight & LGBTQIA+ singles night | British Museum + pub
**A fresh take on dating for straight and LGBTQIA+ singles in their 30s, 40s and 50s, brought to you by LoMAZ. We visit a museum on the last Friday of each month, before heading to the pub.**
This month, join us for a relaxed evening of conversation and connections at the **British Museum**. It's just like a usual LoMAZ event except for one thing: everyone there will be single.
Come for friendship, come for dates, come along!
**HOW DOES IT WORK?**
**6.00 - 6.40pm: MEET AND GREET IN GAIA FOOD & DRINKS (OPPOSITE THE MAIN MUSEUM ENTRANCE).**
Gaia Food & Drinks, 62 Great Russell St, WC1B 3BG. [Map.](https://maps.app.goo.gl/n1TuSPALDCXZthuP7) We will then go to the museum
\*Look out for LoMAZ hosts wearing a 'host' sticker in a yellow frame and they will welcome you.
* You can choose to wear a LoMAZ logo sticker (indicating you are straight) or a LoMAZ rainbow sticker (indicating you are LGBTQIA+), or you can wear both stickers. Wearing stickers means everyone can see who is part of the group and helps you find us as we move around the museum. If you see someone with a LoMAZ sticker, feel free to chat to each other.
**6.45-7.40: EXPLORE THE MUSEUM**
\*We will explore the museum together. We will be visiting room 1 which is the Enlightenment Gallery. There is a pop-up board game lounge with Japanese board and card games you might like to try. Hosts will always be there to chat to, and there will be an optional activity.
**7.45: MEET TO WALK TO THE PUB**\- We will meet under the canopy outside\, to the right of the main exit at the top of the stairs \(Great Russell Street entrance\)
**8pm - late:** **PUB SOCIAL: Penderel's Oak pub**
* We'll carry on the evening in the Penderel's Oak pub (High Holborn), 283-288 High Holborn, London WC1V 7HP [Map.](https://maps.app.goo.gl/t8D5FK6AfSTX2GZx8)
\*As this is a free event, we can't afford to book a private space. The pub we are going to does not accept table bookings after 5pm, therefore we do not have a reserved area. So please expect some standing and mingling. We will probably be on the ground floor.
**TICKETS:**
We have booked tickets for the group: if you wish to use one of our tickets, you will need to enter the museum with a LoMAZ host
**CONTACT ON THE NIGHT:**
* **We'll update where the group is throughout the evening in the event comments.**
\*You can also message a host via Meetup if you have questions or any difficulties finding us.
* Lates for Dates events do *not* have a WhatsApp group.
**PLEASE NOTE:**
\*LoMAZ events are hosted by volunteers. Please change your RSVP if you can no longer attend.
* This is a mixed orientation event. Let’s keep it friendly and respectful—please report any concerns to the hosts or Meetup.
\*All attendees at this meetup are coming as individuals and are responsible for their own security, and health and safety. Please check the Meetup Help section and British Museum for their policies.
