Life Drawing Sessions

Every week since 2022, we have featured nude model poses, both in short and long poses. At the beginning, we have short poses (2, 3, 5, 15 minutes), then two 30-minute sessions. Between blocks, we have 5-10-minute breaks to refresh and socialize with tea and cookies. Welcome to the Zürich AR/VR/Spatial Computing Group. Tonight, we are joined by Tianyi Xiao, a fourth-year PhD candidate at ETH Zürich’s geoGAZElab. Tianyi develops XR-based immersive 3D sketching interfaces that serve as both creative instruments for architectural design and tools for investigating human spatial cognition. His research, frequently featured at the prestigious ACM CHI conference, explores how generative AI can create seamless sketch-to-model pipelines. Key projects include Sketch2Terrain, an AI-driven system that allows non-experts to create to sketch accurate maps of natural landscapes in Augmented Reality, as well as Sketch2Model, a creative tool that enables the conversion from 3d sketches into 3D furniture in Extended Reality.
