We have two gravel sections on Rocky Run. After passing by Ellanor Lawrence we hit Gavi at mile 10.8 in Sully Station. From there we loop over to the Cub Run Valley Stream Trail System. Personally, I think this is the best kept secret in Leesburg. During the week, the owner rents out her cafe for private events, but on the weekends, it’s a cozy botanical cafe where you can get a beautiful plant to bring home after a good convo over a latte. In warmer weather, there’s a hidden patio in the back, where you can enjoy some tree-shaded privacy. Limited pastries and seating, but plenty of parking in the town garage across the street. A favorite of the DMV’s swing dance community, the Rock-A-Sonics play a mix of Rockabilly, 50’s rock and country, and Western swing. Frontman Willie Barry’s pure tenor is accompanied by a group of very talented musicians. Tommy Joe’s in downtown Bethesda occupies the second and third floor of corner building. Bands play the second floor and there’s no cover. It’s easily accessible by metro or car (I use parking garage 36 Auburn-Del Ray).
