Offener Deutschunterricht - Text & Konversation - Niveau B2+ (Fortgeschritten)
Offener Deutschunterricht - Text & Konversation - Niveau B2+ (Fortgeschritten)
February Meetup: The principles of Ambisonics and Trackers
February Meetup: The principles of Ambisonics and Trackers
On the 3rd February we will host the next iteration of our monthly Audio Developer Meetup where **Svein Berge** will be giving a talk on ambisonics and **Christoph Schied** will be showing [Stracker](https://bleep.toys/stracker/). See below! As always, there will be a chance to network over drinks and pizza. Anyone interested in Audio development is welcome! Doors open at 18:00, talks start at 18:15. Please note: Attendance is **strictly limited** to people who have RSVP'd Talk details: **The principles of ambisonics** \- Svein Berge More talk details to follow shortly Svein Berge has a master's degree in electronics and acoustics from NTNU in Norway and a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies in lasers and atomic physics from Université Paris 6. He has worked as a software developer in the telecoms industry since the 90s and as an individual developer in the field of ambisonics since about 2009, where he created the Harpex decoder and Spacemic ambisonic microphone array among other things. He has been based in Berlin since 2011, where he runs the company Harpex Audio GmbH. **Writing a modern tracker, how hard can it be?** \- Christoph Schied When I started Shield Tracker as a spare-time project in December 2023, I was frustrated by existing hardware and software sequencers. I kept wondering, how hard can it really be, and with little background in audio programming I decided to find out. The project escalated quickly, now sitting at over 45k handwritten lines of code, including a custom UI framework driven by a domain-specific-language, a built-in programmable fantasy CPU, various synth engines, effects, cross platform compatibility, and many more features. After a brief demonstration of the tracker I will talk about my techniques for achieving a high development speed and maintaining the momentum. With this talk I hope to inspire attendees to build things from scratch and go onto their own explorative coding journeys. Christoph Schied established himself as a live experimental electronic music performer in the Seattle underground music scene under the moniker "Herr Shield". In his live performances he uses a hybrid hardware setup with his custom-written tracker. He has over a decade of experience as a professional graphics researcher and developer.
Analoges Farblabor
Analoges Farblabor
\*\*\* english version \*\*\* "Can a whale be a parakeet?" \~> Of course not! "Can a window be a drink?" \~> Everyone knows that's impossible. "Can a democracy be a republic?" "Can a conjecture be an opinion?" "Is grasping something the same as understanding something?" \~> Well, now it gets tricky! And it gets exciting... Nothing stimulates thought quite like this new party game. The rules: 1. Everyone writes a term on a slip of paper. 2. The slips of paper are drawn in pairs. 3. We project the meaning of the two words onto the wall using a projector. 4. Everyone can add to/edit the meaning using a laptop or smartphone, and must provide examples of why something could be the same, or could never be the same. 5. After a while, no one can think of anything else. The differences and similarities between the two words are clearly highlighted. Then the score is tallied: (+1) Each new entry adding meaning earns one point. (-2) However, each deleted entry deducts two points. (+5) Each improvement on the existing meaning in Reclue earns five points. The understanding of all players becomes much clearer, especially with frequent play. The goal for the entire group is to reach at minimum 50 points. The game also works in multiple languages. You may join us from home using the internet. Comments in meetup-app will be used to organize that it works. The location (somewhere in Prenzlauer Berg) will be published the day when it takes place.

From Projects to Products: Why Data Products Are Still Hard
From Projects to Products: Why Data Products Are Still Hard
**From Projects to Products: Why Data Products Are Still Hard** A Data Products Book Launch & Practitioner Panel **About the event** This meetup marks the release of **Amy Raygada’s new book on Data Products** and explores why, despite years of discussion, data products are still hard to implement in practice. Data products are not a new concept. For years, organisations have talked about treating data as a product — with clear ownership, well-defined interfaces, and measurable business value. And yet, many teams continue to struggle with fragmented dashboards, inconsistent metrics, and slow, reactive delivery. So why is this still so difficult? In this meetup, we’ll unpack why data products remain hard in practice — not because teams lack tools or frameworks, but because meaning, ownership, and operating models are often misunderstood or only partially implemented. Through in-depth practitioner talks and discussion, we’ll explore: * Why data initiatives often slip back into project mode * Where ownership breaks down across domains and platforms * How weak semantics and unclear definitions erode trust * What changes when data products are treated as long-lived products rather than delivery artefacts * Why AI and advanced analytics amplify these challenges instead of solving them The conversation is grounded in real delivery experience across engineering, architecture, and data strategy. It also features insights from Amy Raygada’s newly released book, which captures lessons learned from years of hands-on work helping organisations move from intent to execution. Expect practical perspectives, honest trade-offs, and an open discussion — not hype, not vendor pitches, and no one-size-fits-all answers. **About the speakers** **Amy Raygada** Principal Data & AI Strategist at Thoughtworks \| Author Amy Raygada is a Principal Data & AI Strategist at Thoughtworks, with over a decade of experience helping organisations design and govern data products that deliver real business impact. Her work spans data product strategy, governance, operating models, and AI readiness, with a strong focus on aligning technical capabilities with decision-making. This meetup marks the release of her new book on Data Products, bringing together lessons from years of real-world delivery across industries. **Kiran Prakash** Director, Data & AI at Thoughtworks Kiran Prakash is a Director in the Data & AI service line at Thoughtworks, working with organisations to design and scale data-driven systems. In his talk *“What We Talk About When We Talk About Data Products,”* Kiran presents a practical approach to designing, implementing, and governing data products. Drawing on real-world experience, he clarifies what data products are — and what they are not — and explores how teams can work backwards from use cases, apply adaptable implementation patterns, and use governance mechanisms such as fitness functions to keep data products aligned over time. **Carsten Fritsch** Principal Data Engineer at Thoughtworks Carsten Fritsch is a Principal Data Engineer at Thoughtworks in Berlin, with deep experience in data engineering, analytics architecture, and data modelling at scale. His work focuses on semantic layers, shared metrics, and the practical challenges of operationalising meaning across organisations. Carsten brings a grounded perspective on why semantics are foundational to trustworthy data products — especially as organisations move toward AI-driven use cases. **Format** * Each speaker will deliver a **25–30 minute talk**, followed by **Q&A** * Final **panel discussion** with all speakers * Open audience Q&A * Informal networking and book signing \-\-\-\-\-\- **Code of Conduct** We adhere to the [Berlin Code of Conduct](https://berlincodeofconduct.org/) to ensure a welcoming and respectful environment for all participants. The event space operates under largely compatible [Thoughtworks Meetups & Events CoC](https://www.thoughtworks.com/en-de/about-us/events/code-of-conduct-germany). **Accessibility** The Location is accessible for wheelchair users. Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
### Tools in your AI's Toolbox : An introduction to MCP Servers The generative AI revolution has unlocked unprecedented capabilities, but the next frontier is agency: empowering models to interact with, query, and act upon the world. The current challenge is the “N x M integration problem,” where every AI model requires a custom, brittle integration for each external tool or data source. This approach simply doesn’t scale. How can we give an AI access to our sales leads, code repositories, or IoT devices in a standardized, secure, and reusable way? This session introduces Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open-source framework designed to solve this challenge and become the universal connector—the USB-C port—for AI. MCP standardizes how AI models discover and use external tools, moving beyond simple function-calling to a robust, client-server architecture. We will dive into how this open protocol is creating a new ecosystem for building powerful, context-aware AI agents. Join this session for a developer-focused introduction where you will learn how to: Understand the core concepts of the open-source Model Context Protocol and its architecture. Utilize pre-built, open-source MCP servers to instantly connect AI to tools like Git, Slack, and databases. Columbus Code & Coffee 83 @ Improving
Columbus Code & Coffee is an inclusive, informal co-working session. People of all skill levels attend, and we love it that way. Many people (optionally) bring projects to work on, and many other people (optionally) socialize the entire time. It's entirely up to you! **What to Expect at the Intro Circle** \~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~ Near the beginning of the event (1:30 pm), we do a standup: * Organizer announcements, updates, and logistics Round 1 - (7 secs max): * Your name * What you're working on * What you can help others with Round 2: * Community events you wanna plug. If none, that's cool too. Round 3: * Job opportunities you're hiring for OR announce that you are looking for one. If none, that's cool. After the introduction circle, everything is self-organized! Feel free to work alone, pair up, attend one of our workshops/presentations, or mingle!
