Tables are labeled for All Levels and Mahj Mavens. All skill levels are encouraged to participate. Play is free, but a donation of $5 is encouraged to help defray event costs. ​ If you own a mah jongg set, we encourage you to bring it. Please bring your NMJL card if you have one. ​The museum is located one block from the Judiciary Square Metro station (Red line). Street parking is available, and a paid garage is located at 3rd and G Streets. You do not need to be a member of the museum to participate. Join us for our weekly riichi mahjong meetup! It is highly encouraged to make a purchase of food or drink at the Whole Foods while playing there. We play on the second floor of the Whole Foods in a bar area called The High Point, There is parking for $5 on the weekends at The Boro Garage B. Do not use the whole foods parking lot since it gets up to $25.

Come out and run with us along the shady Anacostia Tributary Trails! These runs tend to be longer than our other club runs. Average mileage is 4-6 miles, but some members might go farther (and others shorter). We meet in front of Mission BBQ at 8:00AM for introductions, then walk over together to the Indian Creek Trailhead. We are always happy to welcome new faces (and feet)!

We invite you to get acquainted with some popular modern European board games. We grew up enjoying Careers, Clue, Monopoly, and other such games. These new games are even better. They are easy to learn and are loved by a wide range of players. People will be available to teach how to play each of the games described below. Beginners are welcome. Everyone is welcome to bring other board games and card games that you think people will enjoy. The Mexican Train domino game, Stone Age, and Alhambra are likely to be available. Scrabble and Rumikub have been mentioned as possibilities. **TICKET TO RIDE**: Engaging for players of almost any age, Ticket to Ride is great fun. The rules are simple, but deciding what plays to make in any specific game situation remains interesting and enjoyable for years. **CATAN**: In this game players act as competitive settlers. They acquire resources, trade them with other players, and build and develop their holdings on the island of Catan. Players gain victory points as their settlements grow. A feature that makes it easy to enjoy this game over and over is that the island is different for every game. It consists of hexagonal terrain tiles that can connect in any order. **CARCASSONNE**: Players take turns placing tiles to build a land with cities, farms, roads, and cloisters. They earn points by claiming and completing those things. This game remains enjoyable, time after time, for years. All are invited to come to the Lodge as guests of Virginia Colin. Please make sure that she signs you in. Drinks and good quality bar food will be available for purchase. Salads, onion rings, and sweet potato fries are recommended by many of us.

Please help us keep this day limited and enjoy the open play on the other days if you or your friend are not BB or above. People make plans and travel to show up on limited days for limited play because it is limited to experienced players. Please do not show up if you are on the waitlist without checking first, or try to play 5's or 6's, with your friend that is learning how to play, or because it is not full with 12 players if you or your friend are not BB or above. We’d rather play with 9 experienced players on these limited days than open it up to beginners, friends that are learning, etc. There are other open days for that, and they are fun too.

Let's play monopoly in the open area called "The Landing" at the Crystal City Shops. The Landing is right at the Crystal City metro stop and, if you're driving, there is free parking [on weekdays after 4pm and weekends] in the garage. See below for more details. With many tables for games and nearby eateries in the mall, it is a fantastic location for playing board games. We'll be starting at 3:00 pm, but feel free to wander in whenever you'd like.Please RSVP to play. If you'd like to start earlier, feel free to mention that in the comment section. If everyone is already in the middle of games when you arrive, please don't hesitate to pull up a chair and watch a game in progress. We will play a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 people at each table. This is a friendly group of competitive and non competitive players and our different backgrounds and different experiences of Monopoly make for interesting conversation during the games. If you're taking the metro, exit at Crystal City and you can walk to The Landing without having to go outside. When you come up the first set of escalators, turn right to enter the underground shops and then turn right at Rite Aide. Continue straight and The Landing will be the large open seating area on your right, next to San Antonio Bar & Grill and Subway. If you're driving, parking is free in the garage.
