**Overview**
From Idea to Product Series #1:
A 2-Hour practical workshop to validate your product idea before building your app or SaaS + Networking
### Event Description
Every day new apps, SaaS tools and AI products are being built.
Technology has made building products easier than ever.
But one challenge remains the same:
**Many products are built without solving a real problem.**
Founders and builders often start with a solution, a feature, or a technology â and only later discover that the problem isnât as real or important as they thought.
This workshop will help you step back and answer one critical question:
**Are you actually solving the right problem?**
In this interactive session, youâll learn a simple framework to evaluate your product idea and ensure it is grounded in a real user need.
### What Youâll Learn
This workshop is part of the Product Building Series. Together, the three workshops provide a complete path from idea â product scope â product structure, helping you move from concept to a clear and scalable product.
In this workshop we will explore:
⢠Why many product ideas fail before reaching the market
⢠The difference between a **solution idea** and a **real problem**
⢠How to identify the right user and the right situation
⢠A simple framework to validate whether your idea solves something meaningful.
Youâll see real examples of how small changes in problem definition can completely change a product.
### What Youâll Leave With
Participants will complete a **Problem Definition Canvas** for their own product idea.
By the end of the workshop you will have:
â A clearer definition of the problem your product solves
â A better understanding of who your users actually are
â A structured Problem Definition Canvas you can use to refine your idea
â A practical framework you can apply to future product ideas.
### Who This Workshop Is For
This workshop is ideal for:
⢠founders and startup builders
⢠people working on a new app or SaaS idea
⢠indie hackers and makers
⢠early product teams exploring a new product or feature.
No technical background is required.
### Workshop Agenda (120 minutes)
**1\. Welcome & Introduction**
Why validating the problem is the most important step before building.
**2\. Why Many Product Ideas Fail**
Common mistakes when starting a digital product.
**3\. The Problem Validation Framework**
A simple structure to identify real user problems.
**4\. Real Product Example**
How defining the problem changes the product.
**5\. Practical Exercise**
Use the Problem Definition Canvas to analyse your own idea.
**6\. Discussion & Insights**
Common discoveries and lessons from the exercise.
**7\. Wrap\-Up & Next Steps**
### What to Bring
Bring a product idea, feature idea, or startup concept you are exploring.
You will apply the framework directly to your own idea during the workshop.
### Format

UNDER PRESSURE

Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machineâs?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.

**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is powerful, but what if you could scale from a solo AI assistant to an entire team of specialized agents working in parallel? This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise.
We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration.
Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team.

The Story So Far: A WiA Reflection Circle
A WiA Collective Wisdom Exchange
At the start of this year, we gathered to look back, set intentions, and imagine the next chapter.
This is the follow-up.
Not a check-in. Not a progress report. A small, facilitated circle to reconnect with what you said mattered â and honestly explore whatâs actually happening now.
Together, weâll explore:
⢠What you intended at the start of this year - and what that looks like three months in
⢠Whatâs surprised you, supported you, or shifted
⢠What the next chapter needs now that you know what you know
If you were at our January gathering, bring whatever you made or wrote â your word, your artifact, your intention. Weâll look at it with fresh eyes. If this is your first time, you belong here too. Youâll start where we all started: with whatâs true right now.
Optional art materials will be available for anyone who wants to reflect creatively alongside conversation. If you brought something home from January, youâre warmly invited to bring it back.
The intention is the same as always: everyone leaves feeling more clear, more connected, and a little lighter.
Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate.
What to Expect
⢠A small, welcoming circle (not a large meetup)
⢠Structured conversation so everyone has space to speak
⢠Reflection, listening, and lived experience â not advice-giving
⢠Optional creative reflection alongside conversation
⢠A calm, supportive environment
Who This Is For
Women and underrepresented folks working in or around agile, product, technology, leadership, or organizational change â especially those looking for honest conversation and community beyond frameworks and buzzwords.
Good to Know
⢠No preparation required
⢠If you attended in January, we invite you to bring anything you created or wrote (or something that represents your intention at the start of the year) - itâs optional but invited
⢠Participation is invitational; listening is always welcome
⢠Creative activities are optional
