🍺 Agentic Coding Meetup — Devs & Drinks
🍺 Agentic Coding Meetup — Devs & Drinks
No slides. No speaker. No agenda. Just developers talking shop over a cold one. This is an informal gathering for engineers, founders, and builders who are deep in the agentic coding trenches — using tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, OpenCode, or rolling their own agent pipelines. Come swap what's actually working, what blew up in production, and what you're excited about right now. We'll be at Barcelona, and the format is simple: show up, grab a drink, and share what you know. Bring a laptop if you want to show something, but it's not required. WhatsApp Group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GVS0bHMPIzID3Ch9lt6YsU?mode=gi_t **What we talk about (but not limited to):** *Agentic coding workflows and tooling - Prompt engineering & context engineering in practice *Multi-agent architectures and orchestration - AI-native product building *What's broken in the ecosystem and how you're working around it **Who should come:** Developers, technical founders, and AI engineers who build with (or on top of) LLMs. All levels welcome — senior devs with war stories and curious beginners both make the conversation better. **Format:** Open conversation, round-table style. Everyone teaches, everyone learns.

Hope in the Age of AI: How Your Design System Just Might Save You
Hope in the Age of AI: How Your Design System Just Might Save You
**UX Hub** is thrilled to welcome you to an event hosted by [Docplanner](https://www.docplanner.com) at their beautiful office in Poblenou, in the heart of Barcelona's innovation district. **Hope in the Age of AI: How Your Design System Just Might Save You** As AI accelerates the pace of production, the fear of being "out-paced" is real. But designers already hold the key to the future: the Design System. Far from just a library of components, a robust Design System sits at the critical intersection of design and code—the exact language AI speaks. In this talk, we’ll explore why the foundations you’ve already built are the ultimate launchpad for AI-driven scale and speed. Learn how to pivot your design system from a static resource into an automated engine, ensuring that as we scale at the speed of light, Design remains the pilot, not just a passenger. **Speaker** [Nikki Plyem](https://www.linkedin.com/in/nikkiplyem/) is Design Manager of Product Platform at Docplanner. With over 15 years in the design industry, Nikki leads the design in the Product Platform team at Docplanner, where she focuses on building the systems and services that allow design to scale globally. Her career spans award-winning agencies and high-growth Fintech, but her unique approach to design systems is rooted in her earlier life in New York City. Before pivoting to design, Nikki spent years as a professional improviser with a background in Theater and Sociology—disciplines that taught her how to navigate complex human systems and collaborate in real-time. **Hosts** This event is hosted by [Docplanner](https://www.docplanner.com), a global healthcare platform focused on making access to care simpler, from discovery to booking. They design tools for both patients and clinics, shaping how millions of people experience healthcare every day. **Location:** Docplanner, Omron Europe, [Carrer de Josep Pla, 2, Sant Martí, 08019 Barcelona](https://www.google.com/maps/place//data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x12a4a35a284a30e3:0xffdc5d7e01ee12a?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111) **To join us, just:** ✅ RSVP here on Meetup ✅ Answer [this form](https://48db4b2d.sibforms.com/serve/MUIFALfB0bn_p1G9zS7yYICl8fr4aT-cjBYl7Ow1DKvi6gv1FzDSE3Dt9fmIH5k78PONlJNEn2S6UnpOuo_VNIeUd69dkI5RJ0kaw7TjtxPjtwYy8KKc80BkMTozTqyRXiKCcXK9G8y-NccOB4S1Ci0SPkuWLJ5BCVWC80yGZ9bhinpCpoBKNV5cyovr3wH4BWM1_lNTf8IsVTvO) **What’s Happening?** * Keynote Talk: Nikki Plyem * Hope in the Age of AI: How Your Design System Just Might Save You * Hosts: Docplanner * Interactive Q&A: Get your questions answered * Community Networking: Connect with fellow designers, AI specialists, and UX thinkers **Details:** **🗓️ Date**: Tuesday, April 28, 2026 **⏰ Time:** 18:30–21:30 📍 **Location:** Omron Europe, [Carrer de Josep Pla, 2, Sant Martí, 08019 Barcelona](https://www.google.com/maps/place//data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x12a4a35a284a30e3:0xffdc5d7e01ee12a?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111) **Why You’ll Love It:** A discussion about hope for the future of AI and UX. **Agenda:** **18:30 – Door Opens** **19:00 – Introduction** **19:15–20:00 – Talk & Q&A** **20:00–21:30 – Socialization & Fun!** **Educational partner:** [Interaction Design Foundation](https://www.interaction-design.org/turn-passion-into-paycheck?ep=ux-salon-bcn) [Uxcel](https://uxcel.com/) **P.S.** Please make sure to show up on time. **If we reach full capacity, we'll not be able to let you in**, even if you have a ticket!

Duty vs. Results: What Makes an Action Moral?
Duty vs. Results: What Makes an Action Moral?
When judging morality, should we prioritize **intentions/duty** or **outcomes/results**? It introduces two influential philosophers as representatives of these approaches. * **Immanuel Kant (deontology):** An action is moral when it is done from **duty** and follows rational, universal principles (the **categorical imperative**). Certain acts—like lying—are wrong regardless of the consequences; you can’t do a wrong thing for a right reason. * **John Stuart Mill (utilitarian consequentialism):** The morality of an action is determined by its **effects**, specifically how much **happiness/well-being** it produces. Mill argues that some pleasures are “higher” than others, and that good intentions don’t redeem harmful outcomes. ## Discussion Questions 1. **The lying dilemma:** A murderer comes to your door and asks if your friend is hiding inside. Kant would say you must not lie. 2. **Can good intentions rescue a bad outcome?** 3. **The organ harvest problem:** A surgeon has five patients dying of organ failure and one healthy patient in for a checkup. Killing the one to harvest organs would save five lives, and the math works out for the utilitarian. Why does this feel so deeply wrong? Is that feeling a point in Kant's favor, or just a bias we should overcome? 4. **Do rules need exceptions?** Kant insists moral rules must be universal, with no exceptions. But most of us can imagine extreme scenarios where any rule seems like it should bend. Does the need for exceptions fatally undermine deontology, or is the strength of the system precisely that it refuses to bend? 5. **Who gets to calculate the consequences?** Utilitarianism asks us to maximize good outcomes, but we're notoriously bad at predicting consequences. If we can't reliably know the results of our actions, is it practical to base our entire moral system on outcomes? Does this uncertainty push us back toward rules and principles? 6. **Everyday morality:** Think about a real moral decision you've made recently, even a small one. Did you reason more like a Kantian (what's the right thing to do in principle?) or more like a utilitarian (what will produce the best result?)? Do most people naturally lean one way? 7. **Justice vs. the greater good:** A town can prevent a deadly plague by sacrificing one innocent person. The greater good is clearly served. But is it just? Can an action be morally right and deeply unjust at the same time? 8. **The big synthesis question:** Are these two systems actually opposed, or do they often arrive at the same answers by different paths? Is it possible that we need both: rules to guide us in the moment and consequences to evaluate systems and policies over time?
