The EQ Cafe - Feel, Heal & Grow Together ❤
The EQ Cafe - Feel, Heal & Grow Together ❤
**To Listen, To Be Heard. A Circle for Gentle Connection** 💬 *“In a world that speaks so much, the rarest gift is to be truly listened to.”* **About This Space** Let’s meet in a quiet pause, away from the noise, to remember a simple but profound art: the art of listening with our whole hearts and heal together. This is a guided, gentle experience where we practice seeing and valuing each other through one-on-one conversations. You’ll alternate between sharing and listening: As the **Expresser**, you’re invited to explore prompts that gently nurture self-awareness and kindness toward your own experience. As the **Listener**, your only role is to be present, with empathy and curiosity, without the need to fix or advise. We’ll weave in moments of quiet journaling and reflection, and close by sharing insights in a group circle, learning from each other’s inner worlds. **Why Join This Circle?** ✨ To feel the relief of being fully heard, without judgment or interruption. ✨ To heal from the courageous softness of deep, active listening. ✨ To connect with others who believe conversations can be both safe and significant. ✨ To allow your clarity and connection to bloom in quiet, attentive spaces. ✨ To grow emotional intelligence with gentle attention to oneself and to another. **A Note From Your Host** BEWARE: NO MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING SCHEME IS ALLOWED IN THIS GROUP, THAT INVOLVES PROMOTING MENTORSHIP, SELF-HELP DEVELOPMENT, CREATING BUSINESS OR FINANCIAL FREEDOM. I created this space from the belief that one of the deepest forms of human healing is to sit across from someone and feel that they are with you. This is for anyone who yearns for more authentic connection, who values depth over small talk, and who believes that in listening we make the world a little softer. Your presence, your attention, and your gentle heart are welcome here. 🤍

Meeting our Protectors: Inner Critics, People Pleasers, & Perfectionists
Meeting our Protectors: Inner Critics, People Pleasers, & Perfectionists
Internal Family Systems is a therapeutic approach that understands we are made up of many parts. Some are playful, creative or vulnerable. Others step in as protectors, who have developed to protect us at some point in our lives from pain, rejection or abandonment. These protectors might show up as: * the inner critic * the people-pleaser * the perfectionist * the controller * the caretaker * the rebel In this session, we will learn more about what IFS is. We will map some of the most common protector parts, focus in on one or two, and explore creative exercises to represent and/or dialogue with these parts. There will be an optional sharing to close. The duration of the workshop will be between 1.5 and 2h depending on the number of attendees. If you are facing financial stress, please type 'Concession' as a promo code for a discounted price of $25. If this is still difficult, please reach out. I am happy to make arrangements, and no one will be turned away. Contact me at [greenhouse.arttherapy@gmail.com](http://greenhouse.arttherapy@gmail.com/) **Please note:** This workshop introduces IFS-informed Art Therapy as a practice, but is not intended to replace individual or group therapy, which involves a deeper exploration of our histories, intentional collaboration and the building of a therapeutic relationship. I am certified IFS-informed but I do not have Level 1 IFS certification yet (though I will begin that soon). This workshop is also not intended for emergency crisis support or intervention. * If you are comfortable with me taking photos of you and/or your artwork for learning and supervision purposes, and to offer others a sense of what the workshop is like, please let me know at the start of the session. Your participation would be greatly appreciated!
8am Hatha Yoga - Breath & Grounding. Free session in Edinborough Gardens, Fitzro
8am Hatha Yoga - Breath & Grounding. Free session in Edinborough Gardens, Fitzro
**Hatha Yoga - Breath & Grounding** **When & Where?** 🗓 **Saturday at 9:00am** ⏰ **45-minute session** 📍 **Edinburgh Gardens, Fitzroy North - behind the Rotunda on the grass** (Map pins + image gallery available on the event.) 🌧️ **Weather:** Outdoor sessions may be cancelled if rain is likely. Please check the event page beforehand. **About the Session: Hatha Yoga - Breath & Grounding** This second session focuses on slow, grounding movements and breath-led stability. It is completely beginner-friendly, with simple shapes and a calm pace that helps you connect inward. **Breath & Grounding** **One of the foundations of Hatha yoga is the understanding that breath shapes the state of the mind.** When the breath is slow, the mind becomes quiet; when the breath is steady, the body feels supported. **In this session, we focus on grounding - using breath and simple shapes to feel held by the earth beneath us.** This practice teaches us that steadiness isn’t something we force. It’s something we allow. We’ll move through slow, supportive postures that help the mind settle and the body drop into a steadier rhythm. This class is perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a soft reset for the nervous system. We finish with a brief rest to integrate the breath and grounding theme. **What to Bring** • Yoga mat • Warm layers • Comfortable clothing • Optional small cushion (I will have a few extra Mats. please try to bring your own, but Mats available if needed 😊) *** **Attending** if you havent RSVP’d and want to come last minute, you're more then Welcome. more the merrier 😆✨️. **Starting Setup** We begin at **8:00am**. Arriving early helps you settle, find your spot, and ease into the morning. **Running Late?** No problem at all. Join quietly when you arrive - you won’t disrupt anything 😊 **Meditation session after this hatha yoga class - session starts at 9am.** If you would like to come to both sessions please RSVP for both events. 😆🙏 **Excited to practice together** 🌾✨ **Kathy**

Between Years: Reflective Collaging
Between Years: Reflective Collaging
As the year comes to a close, this is a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself through image and intuition. Using OH metaphoric association cards, a deck of picture and word cards that combine to tell personal stories, we'll explore what the past year has held for us: what we're grateful for, what we've struggled with, what we want to honour and release, and how we've changed. From these reflections, we'll begin to collage new possibilities - what we want to make space for, invite in or nurture in the year ahead. No art experience required at all, just an open and curious body-mind. Materials provided, but feel free to bring your own magazines, text, scraps, photos if you wish!
What is Human Intelligence?
What is Human Intelligence?
Please join us this Sunday as we explore the question of Intelligence. This session will be moderated by Glenn. We will meet at the **CAPTAIN MELVILLE**, 34 Franklin St in Melbourne CBD, at 2.00pm for 2.15pm start sharp. There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background; all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge assumptions and be prepared have your own assumptions challenged! Find below some questions to consider, however these are free-ranging events and the below serve merely as a springboard towards a deeper discussion in waters unknown... Some points and questions to consider before the event: * What is intelligence? * What are the differences between human, animal and artificial intelligence? Which differences matter? * Is intelligence best thought of as a capacity, a process or or an outcome? * Are IQ tests useful? If so, useful for what? * Is intelligence distinguished from wisdom, creativity or rationality? Why? * Intelligence is biologically costly. Why do you think we evolved it at all? What problems does it solve? * Are humans intelligent because of individual brains or cumulative culture? * In what sense is AI intelligent or not? If it can do intelligent things, should we say its intelligent? * Is it just that intelligent people are rewarded in the market and society? Are there stupid people? How should they be treated? Hope to see you there!

Recruiting Virtual Mental Health Group Leaders!
Recruiting Virtual Mental Health Group Leaders!
We are recruiting new group leaders for virtual men's groups! Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country. Read below to learn about our groups and click the links at the bottom to apply. ### **What is an Outdoor Empowerment Group?** Our Outdoor Movement & Community Empowerment Groups are simple, guided experiences designed to help people reconnect with nature, themselves, and others. We combine some form of movement (hike, walk, run, bike, yoga, workout) and meaningful conversation within a simple community circle to create a space where individuals can support each other while prioritizing mental and physical well-being. Whether you’re seeking stress relief, personal growth, or community, our groups offer everyone a unique and welcoming environment. ## **Why Join?** * **Improve Mental & Physical Well-Being** – Movement, nature, and supportive conversations reduce stress and promote balance. * **Feel Less Alone** – Build genuine connections with like-minded people in a safe, welcoming space. * **Gain Clarity & Perspective** – Step outside daily routines and into a space designed for personal growth and reflection. ## **The Ideal Group Leader** The ideal group leader * Has a born-in passion for mental health, movement, connecting with nature and building community. * Has 5 extra hours per week to dedicate to a meaningful cause for at least one year. Yes, you can leave any organization at any time and we can also ask you to leave, but we are building with legacy in mind and we need people who can commit and be ALL IN on this mission to build with us. * Is independently financially stable with the ability to volunteer with no expectation of pay. This is a deeply beautiful journey of service that all participants commit to at Speak Your Mind. * An ability to manage groups with high emotional intelligence and desire for human connection. * An ability to self-motivate and market/promote their group on Facebook and other social platforms. * Nature informed therapy or clinical therapists/psychologists a plus. ## **Our Impact** ![](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/64a6315db1eb8d081603d9ea/028252c7-347e-4196-8c79-b81d2a4db4bb/Mountaineering+Guide+Trifold+Brochure+in+Pink+White+Modern+Minimalist+Style+-+2.jpg) Since launching, we have helped thousands find support, connection, and healing through our Outdoor Movement Groups. 100% of participants surveyed have reported: * A noticeable improvement in mental clarity and emotional well-being. * An increase in social connection and a sense of belonging. * Said they would return again. We believe mental health should be accessible, community-driven, and rooted in nature. Join us and take the first step toward a more connected, grounded, and supported version of yourself. ### **Why Our Groups are Donation-Based** Our Outdoor Movement Groups are made possible through a donation-based model. This approach allows us to keep our events accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, while also ensuring that we can continue expanding our reach. It’s a great way to pay it forward and support the growth of this beautiful mission! Every contribution helps us: * **Cover Essential Costs** – Donations allow us to pay essential legal, marketing, insurance, and admin costs as well as nourish the important people who run the organization. * **Grow Our Mission** – With your support, we can bring these healing experiences to thousands more people in the future and execute our long term plan to expand across the USA, affecting up to 500,000 people per year. By choosing to contribute, you’re not just leading an event—you’re helping build a mental health movement that supports long-term well-being and connection for all during a severe mental health epidemic. ## **Come Join Us!** We’d love to have you be part of this growing community of people prioritizing their mental health, movement, and connection. 🔹 **Visit Our Website to Learn More:** https://speakyourmind.men/joinusoutside 🔹 **Apply Here to Lead Your Own Group!** – https://form.jotform.com/taketimespeakyourmind/sym-group-leader-application 🔹 **Support the mission**: If you resonate with the mission and want to support, feel free to join a group before applying or donate to help us reach our goals to help more people!
