The Church of St. Timothy is excited to offer support to newcomers in Canada. Our goal is to provide conversational language practice through informal instruction and feedback in a welcoming and diverse community. All levels welcome! We invite all new-comers, English language students, visitors to Canada, parents of children temporarily attending schools in Toronto, international university students, and anyone looking to enhance their language skills. We are meeting at the Multifaith Centre every Friday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm in the Third Floor Quiet room, for periods of 8-fold moving exercise, sitting meditation, and walking meditation in the tradition of Chan Buddhism. Paul and Chloe think Jennifer's project is fascinating, and they join the group. They gather around Jennifer’s laptop and work on the nav bar for 2 hours. Jennifer is the one typing out the code while Paul and Chloe research, brainstorm, and offer suggestions. If you’re feeling stuck on your own project or need a motivation boost, bring it to mob programming! Want to learn by watching how others code and solve problems? The weather for Wednesday is forecast to be clear and sunny which should provide some great evening light in the downtown core. Arrive by 6 P.M. Let's meet outside at the Bay Street entrance to Brookfield Place (181 Bay Street between Front and Wellington) at 5:30pm. For 30 minutes we will check out nearby architecture and the Luminato installation inside. At 6pm sharp we will set off on a slow walk of the area making our way to Trinity Square (at the rear of the Eaton Centre) where there is another Luminato project. The light should be great for interesting shadows and reflection shots as well as street portraits. I will be outside at 530 and again just before 6 P.M. to meet attendees.
