Once a month Steph hosts our Southern socials.
It is a great opportunity to meet others. Our emphasis is on fun whilst helping and supporting each other.
The socials include drinks and chats, casual coffees, dinners and other activities suggested by members from time to time. Our socials are informal and open to all. We pay for own food and drinks individually and there is no charge for the organisation of the events.

SILENT BOOK CLUB @ FITZROY GARDENS
Let's make the most of daylight savings to do more of what we love.
Bring your own book, read in silence, and we'll gather afterwards for a chat about what we enjoyed.
**ITINERARY**
11am: Meet at the lawn outside Kere Kere Green Cafe next to the visitor information centre at Fitzroy Gardens.
Find a cosy spot to read. You might want to take your book for a meander around the park.
12.15pm: Meet back on the lawn to chat about your book.
1pm: End of event.
**Note:**
Feel free to bring your deck chair / picnic mat, whatever you need to feel comfy.
Coffee and lunch can be purchased from the cafe.
If you're running late, look for us at 12.15pm on the lawn outside Kere Kere Green Cafe.
There is an organizer fee of $5 for this event.

**Getting there:**
The closest train stations are Jolimont (2 min across the road) and Parliament (10 min walk).
Introduction to Guided Drawing
Guided Drawing is a sensorimotor art therapy practice developed and taught by Cornelia Elbrecht that helps us to reconnect with our emotions through movement and sensation. Our emotions live in the body and when we practice listening inward, we can feel more grounded and regulated. This approach gently supports parts of our life experiences that may be difficult to access through talking alone, especially memories and feelings beneath conscious awareness.
The session begins with a short introduction and gentle warm-up. With your eyes closed, you will use both hands to map out sensations within your body and to draw out any movements that your body might need, allowing your embodied self to guide the process. I will demonstrate the activity while also offering suggested shapes and interventions during the process.

Volleyball Social Games - Intermediate (NMCC)
Welcome to Melbourne Volleyball Academy! 🤗
**[[WHAT]]**
This session is for social volleyball games where there will be 3 teams of 6. Please arrive on time as there will warm-up time provided for 15-20 minutes at 11 AM.
**[[WHO]]**
The session is intended for social volleyball players at the beginner/intermediate level.
Players should:
* Understand basic volleyball rules (3 touches, foot faults, etc.)
* Call for the ball when playing and communicate well
* Ready to learn (or already know) 5-1 system
* Efficient in passing/hitting/setting/serving
If you are uncomfortable with the base fundamentals, we recommend coming to our beginner training sessions on Friday 6-9PM or Saturday 2-5PM.
**[[HOW MUCH]]**
$21 card payment will be collected on the day via square (EFTPOS) payment.
**[[WHEN]]**
Saturday afternoon from 11 AM- 2 PM.
However, feel free to come early and stretch as the Community Centre is open earlier.
**Last minute dropouts and no-shows will have a zero-tolerance policy going forward.**
All players are expected to update their RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if they are unable to attend.
This applies to players on the going list and the waitlist.

We ask that you bring
* Water bottle
* Appropriate footwear for indoor court shoes - netball shoes, volleyball shoes, or basketball shoes would be suitable.

Only those on the “going” list are permitted to play. If you are on the waitlist, or not registered at all, you will not be permitted to play.
Saturday meditation
It has been organised for everyone keen to be mindfulness practicing and finding Inner peace. The session led by monks with Buddhist meditation techniques.
And free refreshments provided.

Hi, some friends are organising this comedy and art gallery event to raise funds for their friends in Harcourt, which was very damaged by bush fires recently.

Come down to Changing Room Gallery for a night filled with art and laughs. Kicking then night off at 7pm there will be an art show as well as a silent auction that will run throughout the week. At 8:30 there will be live comedy show staring some of Victorias best up and coming comics.
All proceeds made will be donated to the Harcourt Progress Association. Harcourt and surrounds have recently experienced devastating bushfires with many peoples homes, animals and livelihood seriously impacted or lost.

If you’d enjoy a relaxed Sunday afternoon wandering through beautiful spaces, sharing thoughtful conversation, and ending the day over a lovely dinner — you’re warmly invited to join us.
This is a women-only gathering designed to make connection feel **easy, unforced, and nourishing**, with art, movement, and shared experience doing the heavy lifting.

Please enter the **NGV (180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne)** and walk through **Federation Court**.
We’ll meet in the **Great Hall**.

### Gallery wander + conversation
**4:00pm – 5:00pm**
We’ll spend the afternoon **wandering a limited area of the NGV together**, moving at an easy pace and allowing conversations to unfold naturally as we explore.
This is a relaxed, unstructured wander — there’s no rush and no expectation to see everything. The gallery provides a beautiful backdrop for:
* Gentle conversation
* Reflections sparked by art and design
* Easy connections without small talk pressure
As with other **Good Conversations Club** events, you’re welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
I’ll have **conversation prompts available** that you’re welcome to use if you’d like — or not at all. They’re simply there to support ease, connection, and meaningful conversation if you want them.

The NGV closes at **5:00pm**, so we’ll meet out front, then take a **short walk (approx. 10 minutes)** together towards Flinders Street Station.
### Dinner

Dinner is a chance to sit, slow down, and continue conversations over (shared?) food.
You’re welcome to join for the gallery wander only, or both — dinner is optional but encouraged.

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Anger and Resentment, How to Handle their Source and Live a Better Life
Wouldn’t it be nice to find a way to overcome your feelings of anger so that you not only control them, but you no longer have the urge to lose your temper in the first place?
And how about being able to shake off resentments, persistent annoyance, or even feelings of vengeance?
