Do you ever find yourself looking for more from your relationships? Or finding that relating with others is challenging, and wish you could have help? This event may be for you. We’re having an afternoon of organized discussion about what it means to be human and to relate with others, followed by some connection exercises to practice skills and techniques. The discussion salon will include opportunities to share feelings in groups of different sizes. It’s a chance to feel heard and connected, and to practice openness and compassion and empathy. The connection exercises, following the discussion, will provide an opportunity to learn and practice skills that are helpful for open relating. These exercises may include opportunities for gentle, non-sexual touch and may tenderly touch on challenging edges for some people, including the possibility of some clothing optional exercises towards the end. Participants are always at choice, including choosing to observe the exercise or leave this part of the program. After the salon there will be a small casual gathering with snacks and a chance to connect informally.

Hi everyone. Nathan Phillips Square is playing host to Canadian Latin Fest 2026 on Sunday, 12 April. Through music, food, dance and performance, it celebrates Canadian Latin culture, which I am sure we can all agree, is very vibrant in the city. The event starts at noon with opening remarks and some dignitary speeches. **MEET TIME:** 12:00 noon for our own opening remarks and intros. According to the schedule, the performances are (mostly) over by 3pm. **MEETING SPOT:** in the covered area between Hero Burger and the skate rental shop. **Note:** For those wanting to come a bit later, I will check back at the meeting spot after the first parade ( approx. 1 pm) According to their schedule, the first of two parades steps off at 12:40pm. (The parades are new and I believe they will be quite short and take place within the square.) Whatever your photo interests might be, I am sure there will be lots of ops, not only as part of the festival but also all around City Hall. On a side note, I anticipate putting together meetups in the future, likely during the week when the days are longer, that will offer an element of instruction. The idea is to have willing experienced photographers lead small groups of beginners or those looking to improve their photography skills and/or knowledge of their DSLR or mirrorless. For Sunday's meetup, I think everyone would want to shoot the parade(s)/performances on their own but if there are people interested/willing, they could team up for an hour of guided shooting at some point during the day. I put my name forward as someone who would be happy to lead a group. We will have more discussion about the instructional meetups on Sunday. The weather can't make up its mind. It is now looking like there could be some rain (but don't let that deter you from coming out) . I hope to see you there.

Join us for a social city walk through some of Toronto’s most layered and contrasting neighbourhoods — from the storybook streets of Cabbagetown, to the revitalized energy of Regent Park, ending in the iconic Distillery District. Cabbagetown is known for having one of the largest collections of Victorian homes in North America — quiet, tree-lined streets that feel almost frozen in time. From there, we’ll move into Regent Park, where old Toronto meets new in one of the city’s most significant redevelopments. We’ll finish in the Distillery District, once home to the largest distillery in the world, now a vibrant pedestrian area full of brick buildings, art, and atmosphere. This is not a formal historical tour. Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area.
