6.6-mile Brushy Creek Regional Trail Evening Hike @ Cedar Park [🔦 Recommended!]
**IMPORTANT:** Due to construction at our previous meeting location which closed down the parking lot we've temporarily moved the starting location to **Brushy Creek Lake Park**. The relevant information has been updated to reflect this.
Join us for our **recurring** scenic **6.6-mile (10.6-km)** evening at the Brushy Creek Regional Trail in Cedar Park!
We’ll take a relaxed pace through one of the city’s most beautiful trails. The hike should take about **2 hours**.
**ℹ️ Additional info**
The purpose of this specific event is to have a recurring way for us to meet relatively easily. I want to make sure that recurring events are a "low effort" commitment, ie you don't have to drive 2 hours to get there. In the future once we have more organizers I plan to have more recurring events scheduled so we can cover a larger area.
Also, you may have noticed that **this event has an RSVP limit**. This is done for multiple reasons. Not only to ensure that a large group is not disruptive to the rest of the Austin community on the trail, but also to allow us to prioritize the "meetup" experience for every attendee, as having +60 people may be overwhelming, and ultimately the goal of this group is to build a community, not just a collection of individuals that like a specific trail.
**📍 Where to Meet**
2310 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park, TX 78613
Google Maps **exact meeting spot link**:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/yAzHpoVQdXXAG3XD8
Route on **AllTrails**:
[Will be added in the future]
**🅿️ Parking**
Parking is available directly at the parking lot close to where we'll meet. There will be enough space for everyone.
**ℹ️ Recommendations**
* Bring good shoes (Although the terrain isn't challenging and relatively flat)
* Pack some water (More than you need, just in case)
* Bring a friend! (That's my attempt at a shameless self-promo for the group. Although even if you don't, I am confident that you'll get along great with the people you'll meet at the event!)
* A flashlight! Your phone is better than nothing, but a dedicated flashlight would only be of benefit of you as the sun sets!
**👍 Good to know**
* 🐶 Dog-friendly
* 👨👩👧 Family-friendly
* ♿ Wheelchair accessible
**Event Etiquette (Important!)**
* If you RSVP'd, but are unable to make it, please update your attendance as soon as possible. The attendance limit prevents new people from joining if we're at capacity otherwise. If we notice a pattern of you RSVPing to events and not showing up, you will be kicked from this group.
* Please show up on time. We will start right at the indicated event time. This is to respect everyones time. If you're a few minutes late, it should not be an issue as the "intro" to the event may take 15 minutes or so, but we will not delay the start until you get there.
* Other than that, I know all of you will help me make this group great for everyone. So thanks in advance for that!
**Event itinerary**
Below is the general outline of how the events are going to function
* Updates since last event
* Official introductions of everyone
* Icebreaker question
* The event itself
* After event:
* (As needed) Updates for next event(s)
* Exchange goodbyes
**🙂 I want your feedback!**
I am working on making this description as informative as possible, if anything is missing, you have any recommendations or there are errors/mistakes, please reach out to me, thanks!
Run/Walk WB - We meet at 6:30 and start running/walking at 6:40 sharp!!
**Come join our group of fun and fabulous friends!**
**Please note that is a dog friendly event!** We meet and socialize outside on the Whitestone Brewery patio which is completely open to our four-legged friends.
If you are looking to make new friends, you have come to the right place. And we offer an opportunity to get in some exercise. The exercise is a bonus and OPTIONAL! We want you to come hang out more than anything. Too cold or too hot or too whatever might keep you from exercising, but please just show up and honor us with your presence. And Whitestone Brewery has offered us Happy Hour pricing for this event!
We will meet at 6:30 pm on the patio of Whitestone Brewery to **start our Run/Walk at 6:40 pm**. Please come prepared if you are going to run or walk. It is always important to be hydrated. If you are new to the event, I will make sure you have a "veteran" to run/walk with on the course.
See you there,
Mike

Evening Stroll at Lakeline Park
************We meet at 6:30ish and take a pre-walk photo before we start down the path clockwise around the lake at 6:40…feel free to catch up if you’re late! 😁********** It has been proposed that this meetup includes Italian Ice at Jeremiah’s following the walk and I am a-ok with making that a thing as well! No pressure to join us, but it does taste delicious following the walk!**
**Easy Walk • Fresh Air • Connection and Conversation in Cedar Park**
**Looking for a simple way to unwind, get outside, and meet new people in Cedar Park?**
**Join us for a relaxed evening walking meetup at Lakeline Park, one of Cedar Park’s hidden gems featuring scenic trails, open green space, and peaceful water views. Whether you’re new to the area or just looking to connect with others, this is an easy, welcoming way to get out of the house and into good company.**
**This isn’t a power walk or a fitness challenge, it’s about movement, conversation, and connection. We’ll keep a relaxed, easy pace that works for all fitness levels, with plenty of space for casual conversations along the trail. The vibe is low-pressure and social, making it easy to meet new people whether you come solo or with a friend.**
**Park in the lot nearest the Kayak rental and we will meet at the launch to start the 2.5 mile loop.**
**RSVP Reminder: If you RSVP, please do your best to attend or update your RSVP. Smaller events like this work best when everyone who signs up shows up.**
**….. ……. ….. ……**
**Hi I’m Heather, your friendly neighborhood walking organizer person thingie. I’m newish to Texas and enjoying everything this area has to offer, especially the interesting people! I’m easily distracted by beautiful and interesting things and people so I will stop and take photos along the way. I often forget what I’m saying mid conversation. Think absent-minded professor but shorter and with longer hair. But I am determined/stubborn and will walk if I am at all capable of doing so because I know how quickly that privilege can change! Please come move with me and enjoy the benefits of living in such a beautiful place!**
*********************please remind me to take a group photo before we begin walking and always feel free to join up after the walk. I can’t always join, but don’t let me stop the conversations!*********************

🎤👩🏽🎤👨🏻🎤👩🏼🎤 [E Round Rock] karaoke @ Pflutto's Tavern--Hutto
At first glance, Pflutto's #2 (Hutto) looks like a typical suburban neighborhood watering hole: a few pool tables, several video slot machines, one long bar, with a tiny corner stage for live music, in an unassuming cold, hard strip-mall box. But show up on a Wednesday evening--on their karaoke nights--and you'll see that the vibe is laid-back but warm, the song choices are diverse, the crowd is supportive, and somehow the acoustics are good.
Come sing, dance, listen, and/or hum along!!

CMG Gives Back: Serve Dinner at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
