Firefly Foundations Class: How We Do Rituals
Spring has spring, which means we're well on our way through the Firefly Foundations class series meant to provide students the opportunity to learn about the House and about our way of being Pagan.
For the third class of our seven-class series, we'll cover what we call our "core order" of ritual. If you've joined us for a holiday ceremony or other event already, you've probably seen some of this, but during the video we'll go over all the different steps, what they mean, and how we do them.
When you RSVP for this class, you'll be asked to provide an email address. We'll send you a link to the class video at that address as soon as possible after we receive it. We keep won't share your email with anyone ever. Watch the video before the class date and time, and come to class with any questions you might have. During the class session, we'll be going over anything from the video you wanted to review, and then for the remainder of the time, we'll probably practice a few of the ritual steps as examples for those that might not be familiar with them.
If you're comfortable with it, join us at the MLK Memorial Library in the Room 401-D to join the conversation in-person. Masks will be welcomed, but not provided, for in-person attendees. We will also have the necessary technology to allow folks to join in online via Google Meet if you prefer to attend remotely. Video conferencing information will be sent out the morning of the event. If you're connecting that way, please give us a few minutes past 3:30pm to get the stream online.
This class is a part of our [foundations class series](https://docs.google.com/document/d/18-tA9ewEm1YEvY26jlWq07F2DT_-_HKwd-_wnl0l84g/edit?usp=sharing), which is only required if you wish to join the Firefly House as an initiate. If that does not interest you, then feel free to skip classes that you find less important for your journey. If you want to keep your options open with respect to initiation but cannot attend this session at the listed date and time, please contact the event host prior to the session. Keep in mind, you can only miss two of seven sessions in this way. Time spent with initiates of the House and your fellow classmates is an important part of knowing if you want to initiate. If you don't initiate, regardless of the reason, you're still welcome to all of the public events we organize.
If you would like to, feel free to [join our Discord](https://discord.gg/RrS9XNzf9X) to chat with others in the Firefly House between sessions. This is also a great place to ask for help if you've lost a link to a video, for example.
\*\*\*
The Firefly House seeks to provide a friendly, safe environment in which all participants can engage in productive dialogue, sharing, and learning with each other in an atmosphere of mutual respect. We are committed to providing a harassment-free environment for all, regardless of gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body type, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact the host.
Strategic Relocation & Income Design Intensive
### Reinvent Your Income. Rebuild Your Life. Relocate Strategically.
Many professional women reach a moment where they realize something needs to change.
Maybe you're feeling burned out from corporate life, exhausted from navigating toxic workplaces, or simply ready for a different lifestyle. You may have even thought about relocating or starting a business—but you’re not sure how to make the transition without disrupting your financial stability.
This live **4-hour intensive** is designed to help you begin thinking strategically about your next chapter.
Instead of reacting emotionally or making rushed decisions, you’ll explore how to design a thoughtful plan for your future—one that aligns your **income, career, and lifestyle goals.**
During this session we’ll explore:
• Why high-achieving women often feel stuck in careers that no longer feel aligned
• How to design a strategic exit instead of quitting impulsively
• The concept of **income architecture** and how to redesign your earning power
• Career pivot and business possibilities based on your existing skills
• How to create income streams that support lifestyle changes or relocation
• How to begin mapping a **12–18 month transition plan**
This experience will include guided discussion, reflection exercises, and a mid-session break with snacks.
The Recharge: Fill Up Sis
This is a VIRTUAL FREE event every week. To get access details please [click here](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-recharge-fill-up-sis-tickets-1984961497272?aff=oddtdtcreator)
If you’ve been pouring into everyone else and quietly running on empty… this space was created for you.
There comes a moment in a woman’s life when she realizes she has been pouring into everyone and everything else… while quietly running on empty.
The responsibilities.
The expectations.
The emotional labor.
And somewhere in the middle of holding it all together, she forgets what it feels like to be **fully supported, fully resourced, and fully seen**.
**The Recharge: Fill Up Sis** is **a sacred weekly virtual meetup** created for women who are ready to pause, recalibrate their energy, and reconnect with themselves in powerful community.
This is not a motivational talk.
This is not surface-level inspiration.
This is a room where women gather to **release what they’ve been carrying, restore their energy, and remember the power of being in [intentional sisterhood](https://thewombsauna.com/wcoe "https://thewombsauna.com/wcoe").**
## What Happens in The Recharge?
Each session is a guided experience where women come together to:
* **Release** stress, emotional weight, and the pressure of carrying everything alone
* **Restore** their energy through meaningful conversation, reflection, and grounding practices
* **Rise** into clarity about what their next level of life and leadership requires
* **Radiate** with renewed confidence, alignment, and direction
This space allows you to experience the tone, leadership, and sisterhood that define the deeper work we do together.
## The Integration Lab: Where Knowledge Becomes Embodiment
Many women spend years gathering wisdom.
Books. Podcasts. Workshops. Spiritual insight. Therapy. Coaching.
At a certain point, the question is no longer:
**“What else do I need to learn?”**
The real question becomes:
**“Where am I actually practicing the life I say I want?”**
The **Integration Lab** is the weekly coaching and practice space inside our **[1-Year Self Development Program](thewombsauna.com/programs)**.
It is where women stop circulating knowledge and begin **embodying it**.
Inside the Lab, we work in real time with the patterns, decisions, emotions, and relationships shaping your life right now.
Awareness becomes action.
Insight becomes discipline.
And personal growth becomes a lived lifestyle.
Women gather weekly to:
* apply what they know to real-life challenges
* strengthen emotional regulation and self-leadership
* practice accountability in sacred sisterhood
* build the consistency required to live differently
This is not a space for passive listening.
It is a space for **active personal development and sacred community life.**
## Who This Space Is For?
This gathering is for women who:
* are tired of carrying everything alone
* know they are capable of more but feel stretched thin
* value personal development and emotional growth
* desire a circle of women who are serious about their evolution
* are exploring whether they are ready to invest in a **year of intentional growth**
Many women who attend **The Recharge** are preparing themselves to decide whether they are ready to step into the deeper commitment of the **[1-Year Self Development Program](https://thewombsauna.com/programs "https://thewombsauna.com/programs")**.
## What You Should Know
This experience is **free**, but it is intentional.
Women who attend are often exploring what it would look like to:
* prioritize their personal development
* practice emotional and spiritual growth consistently
* participate in a high-level community of women committed to living consciously
Come with curiosity.
Come with honesty.
Come with the willingness to pour back into yourself.
## Hosted By
## **[Thema Azize Serwa](https://thewombsauna.com/thema "https://thewombsauna.com/thema")**
Founder of **[The Womb Sauna](https://thewombsauna.com/ "https://thewombsauna.com")** and creator of transformational spaces where women gather to **release, restore, rise, and radiate**.
After overcoming eight years of infertility and PCOS, Thema devoted her life to helping women reconnect with their bodies, their emotional wisdom, and the sacred power of intentional community.
Through her work in womb wellness, self-development, and spiritual leadership, she has guided women around the world in creating lives that are rooted in clarity, healing, and self-mastery.
## Final Invitation
If you’ve been gathering insight for years but feel ready to start **living differently**, this space will resonate deeply.
Because transformation does not happen through inspiration alone.
It happens through **consistent practice, honest reflection, and community that supports your evolution.**
**Come recharge.**

Sam Beckett's management is excited to host us again. We’ve had 30 to 50 guests at our previous events here. Beckett's has an intimate atmosphere, yet they can accommodate up to 70 of us!
As was the case last time, we will be getting separate checks and ordering off their standard dinner menu. The price range is moderate. Check out a typical dinner menu here: [https://samuelbecketts.com/](https://samuelbecketts.com/)
Although the event states an end time of 11 p.m. this is not a hard limit since Beckett's is usually open to as late as 1 a.m. Everyone is free to mingle and chat after 11:00 p.m. -- and we definitely hope you do!
**Guests**
Significant others of members are welcome! Please be sure to include them as your +1 when you RSVP. Please RSVP soonest as we need to update the venue with our numbers one week prior to the event.
**Attire**
We want to reinforce the goodwill produced at our previous events, so we expect everyone to wear attire appropriate for a mainstream space. We take pride in the variety of ensembles ladies display while maintaining our tasteful and chic individual style. *No fetish wear, please.*
If you’re looking to get your Soiree makeup professionally applied, our very own Elizabeth Taylor (Beth) will be offering makeup makeovers at her studio in Takoma Park, MD ([https://makeoverswithelizabethtaylor.com](https://makeoverswithelizabethtaylor.com)). Other makeover artists are listed on our discussion board.
Bring your smartphones and cameras, and take pics to share on our meetup site. (Please be mindful that some ladies are adverse to being photographed so if in doubt ask first.)
**Parking**
Shirlington has extensive, free, garage parking on weekends and evenings. Our preferred parking facility is the Quincy St. Garage at 2901 S Randolph St, Arlington, VA 22206. There's a staircase to Randolph Street on the NW corner of the garage. This garage is just a two-minute walk to the pub and has ample parking on all levels.
**Drop-off Location & Entrance**
The entrance to Sam Beckett’s is located on Campbell Street across from the Peet’s Coffee even though the address is 2800 S Randolph St. If you are getting dropped off, please use 4150 Campbell Avenue for closer access to the front door.
**Feeling nervous?**
If you'd like someone to meet you at your car and walk in with you, that is no problem! Just text Beth at 202-803-3231, and she (or another member) will come out to walk you in and introduce you to the other ladies.
**Lodging**
The Hilton Garden Inn in Shirlington has rooms available starting at $216 + tax. We don't have any special rate negotiated with the hotel, so check out your discount options online when you book, e.g., use hotel chain points, AAA and AARP membership discounts, pay now discounts, or volume booking sites like Expedia, etc. It's just a two-minute walk from the hotel to the pub! The hotel's website link is: [https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/dcaasgi-hilton-garden-inn-arlington-shirlington/](https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/dcaasgi-hilton-garden-inn-arlington-shirlington/)

Book Bedazzling (BYOB) - Bloodguard by Cecy Robson
Let's bedazzle some books while we discuss our April pick: Bloodguard by Cecy Robson!
Book description:
One hundred years. Tens of thousands of gladiators. And today, only one will rise…
Everything in the Kingdom of Arrow is a lie.
Leith of Grey thought coming to this new land and volunteering to fight in the gladiator arena—vicious, bloodthirsty tournaments where only the strongest survive—would earn him enough gold to save his dying sister. He thought there was nothing left to lose.
He was wrong—and they took everything. His hope. His freedom. His very humanity.
All Leith has left is his battle-scarred body, fueled by rage and hardened from years of fighting for the right to live another day.
Then Leith meets Maeve, an elven royal who is everything he despises. Everything he should hate. Until the alluring princess offers him the one thing he needs most: a chance to win the coveted title of Bloodguard—and his freedom.
But in a kingdom built on secrets and lies, hope doesn’t come cheap.
Nor will his ultimate revenge…
Event:
Please bring your own book, journal, bookmarks, etc to bedazzle. If you have bedazzling supplies, please bring them as well. I will supply gems, glue, and picker tools, but if you have certain colors in mind, you may want to bring your own.

\*\*THERE WILL BE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR NO-SHOWS. IF YOU RSVP TO A MEETING AND FAIL TO SHOW UP WITHOUT NOTICE, YOU'LL BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUP. THIS IS TO PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE GROUP\*\*
1. Confidentiality - EVERYTHING that is shared NEVER leaves this space so that this space remains safe and sacred. There is a zero tolerance policy for this. If a man is in violation of this, they will be permanently removed from the group.
2. Non-Judgement - we respect and honor every man’s truth so that we may receive the same from others. While we may not agree on everything, we commit to respecting every man’s perspectives and engaging in honorable discussion with one another.
3. Be committed - honor your commitment to this group and to yourself. If you attend a meeting, please commit yourself fully to the meeting. Also be committed to your own journey. When we fail, we own it & clean it up.
4. Speak from the heart - this is NOT a space to “look good”, have the “right” answers, and have it all together. Relax and know you are not alone. Be exactly who you are within the safety of this space.
5. Be supportive - This means always willing to provide encouragement to your fellow men, encourage action and momentum in each other’s lives.. Be willing to challenge each other. Be willing to hold each other accountable.
6. Participation - what you receive from this community will be a reflection of what you put into it. Period. We ask that you share your perspectives, reflect on others, and give/receive support when and where it’s needed.
Hike Gertrude S. Lawrence Hoover Nature Preserve near Galena
This trail is a meandering path through the woods. There will be some overlooks and a couple stops at the creek as well as time along a waterway. It will not be a fast paced hike. There is some elevation change and uneven terrain. I will be using poles just to be safe! Will aim to get in about three miles.
Optional lunch after if there is an interest.
