A Morning Forest Meditation - 9am Edinborough Gardens.
A Morning Forest Meditation - 9am Edinborough Gardens.
**Listening within, A gentle forest meditation.** A gentle Saturday morning meditation to help you reconnect with your body, your internal signals, and your own quiet sense of knowing. This session is not about trying to find the “right” answers or figure everything out. It’s about learning how to listen… in a different way. Beneath the noise of thought, the body is always communicating. Through sensation, subtle shifts, and quiet signals, a sense of ease, a pull, a tightening, a softening. This practice is an invitation to slow down enough to notice… and to begin building trust in what you feel. We’ll be lying on the grass in Edinburgh Gardens, surrounded by the soft stillness of the morning. The space will draw on the feeling of being in a forest, where nothing is rushed, nothing is forced, and everything responds naturally to its environment. Just like the body. **Especially supportive if you are feeling:** • Feeling disconnected from your body or inner sense of direction • Overthinking decisions or searching for clarity • Wanting to feel more grounded and present • Learning to trust your intuition in a more embodied way • Ready to move through life with less force and more awareness **This session is designed to help you:** • Reconnect with your body as a place of guidance. • Notice and understand subtle internal signals. • Soften the need to constantly think or analyse. • Build trust in your own intuition. • Feel more steady, grounded, and self-connected. **Session structure** We’ll begin with Yoga Nidra, a guided deep rest practice where you simply lie down and allow the body to settle. Stillness supports the nervous system in softening, while awareness is gently guided through the body to help you shift out of thinking and into sensing. From there, we’ll move into a guided forest-based visual meditation focused on listening within. Through slow, grounded imagery and gentle hypnotic language, you’ll be invited to notice the body’s subtle signals, not to analyse or act on them, but to become familiar with them. This practice is about learning the language of your own body and beginning to trust it. No experience is needed. This session is beginner-friendly and fully guided from start to finish. **When and Where:** 🗓 **Saturday, 2nd May** ⏰ **9:00am – 10:30am** 📍 **Edinburgh Gardens, Fitzroy North** We’ll set up on the grass near the Rotunda. Look for my yoga mat and the large pink sign that says *“Free Guided Meditation.”* **Weather notes.** This is an outdoor session. If the weather turns rainy or unsuitable, I’ll update the event listing beforehand. Please check the Meetup page event before heading out. Melbourne weather can always surprise us. **What to bring:** • Yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on. • A light blanket or jumper. • Eye covering or small pillow (optional). • Water. • Comfortable, warm clothing. **Arriving Late.** Arriving a few minutes early helps you settle in and arrive fully before we begin. If you’re running late, please still join, just slip in quietly when you arrive. You won’t disturb the practice 😊 **Everyone is welcome.** Whether you’re feeling unsure, seeking clarity, or simply wanting a calm and grounded way to reconnect with yourself, this space is for you. 😊✨ I look forward to sharing this morning with you 🌿✨ **Kathy**

1st NeuroSparks Social Meetup!!!
1st NeuroSparks Social Meetup!!!
Hi all, us at NeuroSparks will be having our first fortnightly meeting and we'd love to see you there! When: the 2nd of May (Saturday) from 12:30-3:30PM. Where: we will be meeting at the Majorca Room at the City Library. Access to the room is via a lift or steps in the foyer. The City Library is located at 253 Flinders Lane, right next to Flinders Street/Town Hall Station. This social gathering will be for those looking to connect with others in the community. It'll be a very casual setting, where everyone can be themselves and can and go when they feel like it. For anyone wanting to continue socialising after the room booking ends, we encourage you to get out and hit the town together! **People are welcome to bring food/drinks to the event. Conveniently for us, there is a cafe on the library's ground floor and there are many cafes also nearby on Degraves Street! But for the sake of continuing to use the venue, please tidy up after yourself.** This event is open to all neurodivergent people and anyone who values a friendly, inclusive space. Many attendees come on their own, so if you’re feeling a bit hesitant, know you’ll be in good company and warmly welcomed. If the group/noise feels too overwhelming at any point, there is a silent study room next door to decompress in. If at any point you have concerns or feel uncomfortable about any group member, please notify one of the organisers. **For the purposes of not overwhelming attendees, we will be capping RSVPs at 35 people maximum. If you have RSVP’d and can no longer attend, please cancel your booking, to allow others to attend. If you sign up for the waitlist and Meetup prompts you to pay, please ignore this, as this event is not intended to be paid for.** Looking forward to seeing all of you there! Disclaimer & Safety Notice By attending this Meetup, you agree: • Participation is voluntary and at your own risk. • Organisers are community volunteers, not medical or professional providers. • You are responsible for your own safety, choices, and belongings. • Organisers are not liable for injury, loss, or damage at any time. • If you have health or access needs, please make your own arrangements. • In an emergency, call 000 immediately. 🎉 Coffee Mingle in Fitzroy Gardens ☕️🧁🥤🏞️
🎉 Coffee Mingle in Fitzroy Gardens ☕️🧁🥤🏞️
**Want to meet new people in an inclusive and welcoming space?** 🤗 Let’s enjoy the last of the Autumn sunshine and gather for an afternoon coffee in **Fitzroy Gardens**. 🌸 We will gather just outside the **Kere Kere Green Cafe & Visitors Centre** in large grassy area (to the left of the building when you are facing the entrance). You can go inside the cafe any time before or during the event to purchase a coffee and/or some yummy snacks. Please feel free to bring a picnic blanket if you prefer to sit down, but I find that standing allows you a bit more freedom to move around and mingle. And mingle we shall! This is a great opportunity to socialise with other attendees who all there for the same reason as you: to have conversations and meet new people! If it's your first time and you're a bit shy, feel free to find me (Annette) and say hello and I will help you on your way. 🤗 If it happens to be a bit rainy or drizzly we can use the sheltered section in front of the cafe entrance. Please note that in the event of extreme weather (eg. lots of rain, strong winds) this event will be postponed, so please check for any updates (in the comments section of the event page) prior to the event. **Location & Directions:** We will be located in the grassy area left of the Kere Kere Green Cafe & Visitors Centre, under the large tree. If you haven't been to this event before, its best to use the map provided on this page (click on it to open in your apps) to find the location. Otherwise you can manually type 'KereKere Green' into your Google maps. The other landmark to look out for is 'Cook's Cottage' which you can see in the background of the photo I have uploaded. **Parking advice:** There is metered parking on the surrounding streets but hard to find a free spot on weekends. You can try your luck getting a 2hr free spot on the streets coming off Clarendon St. But, I would highly recommend catching a tram there rather than driving. See you all there! 🎼HARMONY BRIDGE : Concert I: Ukrainian Voices & Baltic Echoes
🎼HARMONY BRIDGE : Concert I: Ukrainian Voices & Baltic Echoes
✨ I invite you to a special evening born from silence, harmony, and love for music - 🎶 **Music needs no translation — it speaks in the voice of the heart, even when the world falls silent.** In times like these, it feels more important than ever to keep listening — and to truly hear. There is music that sounds beautiful. And there is music that has lived through history. A few things to know before concert [Harmony Bridge: Ukraine–Australia. With Ukraine in the Heart](https://www.facebook.com/events/2444840435976414/?__cft__%5B0%5D=AZaiWrl7AdRwZQkjTd5wGfL8ETUtwOtQ-Vs6ndJuTGBF4OQKRYH77tMtTDzcyw3EHXVl4xMPwNZojzfo46Yup3h-uXx0EwfWoNgd7GbYPjS4yrECQtadB0kiBCI2bKc_9g231u4mbqYqrPbl4OR00vgWc_ZCZbDtBlaGjIlM3h32MeJNHU9PZBEblMXgfOq-nfSlsitlkxwwV_qAnY62q43f&__tn__=-UK-R): A string quartet is a form where nothing can be hidden — every sound is exposed, every emotion is real. That is why composers entrusted it with their most personal thoughts. Ukrainian chamber music was often created in difficult times — becoming a way to preserve what could not be spoken aloud. Some of the melodies you will hear were written over a century ago, yet they still resonate as if they were created today. A quartet is always a conversation. Between instruments. Between composer and listener. Between past and present. On 3 May, this conversation will come to life. * **🗓 Sunday, 3 May 2026 – 3:00 PM** **⏰ Doors open 2:00 PM** **📍 Ukrainian House, 3–11 Russell Street, Essendon VIC 3040** * 🎟️ **Tickets:** [https://www.trybooking.com/DKDFH](https://www.trybooking.com/DKDFH?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAYnJpZBExODEzeTdTWlV4bUV4dzRzdHNydGMGYXBwX2lkEDIyMjAzOTE3ODgyMDA4OTIAAR71eSdmD05pJ_PtDBCBCw1OTw2dzJJfSzLjIxC2q84asDiDVz-nklmP5Kx6bA_aem_3ipqV8ZEvf1tktRE_kI40Q) * or cash at the doors **TICKETS** $35 – GENERAL ADMISSION $45 – CONCESSION STUDENT \| PENSIONER \| UNEMPLOYED All proceeds will support **Harmony Bridge: Ukraine–Australia**, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting Ukrainian music and arts in Australia. 🌿 Music that stays with you long after the final note.

Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
This is a free, in person meeting. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
