A Morning Forest Meditation - 9am Edinborough Gardens.
**Listening within, A gentle forest meditation.**
A gentle Saturday morning meditation to help you reconnect with your body, your internal signals, and your own quiet sense of knowing.
This session is not about trying to find the “right” answers or figure everything out.
It’s about learning how to listen… in a different way.
Beneath the noise of thought, the body is always communicating.
Through sensation, subtle shifts, and quiet signals, a sense of ease, a pull, a tightening, a softening.
This practice is an invitation to slow down enough to notice…
and to begin building trust in what you feel.
We’ll be lying on the grass in Edinburgh Gardens, surrounded by the soft stillness of the morning. The space will draw on the feeling of being in a forest, where nothing is rushed, nothing is forced, and everything responds naturally to its environment.
Just like the body.
**Especially supportive if you are feeling:**
• Feeling disconnected from your body or inner sense of direction
• Overthinking decisions or searching for clarity
• Wanting to feel more grounded and present
• Learning to trust your intuition in a more embodied way
• Ready to move through life with less force and more awareness
**This session is designed to help you:**
• Reconnect with your body as a place of guidance.
• Notice and understand subtle internal signals.
• Soften the need to constantly think or analyse.
• Build trust in your own intuition.
• Feel more steady, grounded, and self-connected.
**Session structure**
We’ll begin with Yoga Nidra, a guided deep rest practice where you simply lie down and allow the body to settle.
Stillness supports the nervous system in softening, while awareness is gently guided through the body to help you shift out of thinking and into sensing.
From there, we’ll move into a guided forest-based visual meditation focused on listening within. Through slow, grounded imagery and gentle hypnotic language, you’ll be invited to notice the body’s subtle signals, not to analyse or act on them, but to become familiar with them.
This practice is about learning the language of your own body and beginning to trust it.
No experience is needed. This session is beginner-friendly and fully guided from start to finish.
**When and Where:**
🗓 **Saturday, 2nd May**
⏰ **9:00am – 10:30am**
📍 **Edinburgh Gardens, Fitzroy North**
We’ll set up on the grass near the Rotunda. Look for my yoga mat and the large pink sign that says *“Free Guided Meditation.”*
**Weather notes.**
This is an outdoor session. If the weather turns rainy or unsuitable, I’ll update the event listing beforehand. Please check the Meetup page event before heading out. Melbourne weather can always surprise us.
**What to bring:**
• Yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on.
• A light blanket or jumper.
• Eye covering or small pillow (optional).
• Water.
• Comfortable, warm clothing.
**Arriving Late.**
Arriving a few minutes early helps you settle in and arrive fully before we begin. If you’re running late, please still join, just slip in quietly when you arrive. You won’t disturb the practice 😊
**Everyone is welcome.**
Whether you’re feeling unsure, seeking clarity, or simply wanting a calm and grounded way to reconnect with yourself, this space is for you.
😊✨
I look forward to sharing this morning with you 🌿✨

1st NeuroSparks Social Meetup!!!
Hi all, us at NeuroSparks will be having our first fortnightly meeting and we'd love to see you there!
When: the 2nd of May (Saturday) from 12:30-3:30PM.
Where: we will be meeting at the Majorca Room at the City Library.
Access to the room is via a lift or steps in the foyer.
The City Library is located at 253 Flinders Lane, right next to Flinders Street/Town Hall Station.
This social gathering will be for those looking to connect with others in the community. It'll be a very casual setting, where everyone can be themselves and can and go when they feel like it. For anyone wanting to continue socialising after the room booking ends, we encourage you to get out and hit the town together!
**People are welcome to bring food/drinks to the event. Conveniently for us, there is a cafe on the library's ground floor and there are many cafes also nearby on Degraves Street! But for the sake of continuing to use the venue, please tidy up after yourself.**
This event is open to all neurodivergent people and anyone who values a friendly, inclusive space. Many attendees come on their own, so if you’re feeling a bit hesitant, know you’ll be in good company and warmly welcomed. If the group/noise feels too overwhelming at any point, there is a silent study room next door to decompress in.
If at any point you have concerns or feel uncomfortable
about any group member, please notify one of the organisers.
**For the purposes of not overwhelming attendees, we will be capping RSVPs at 35 people maximum. If you have RSVP’d and can no longer attend, please cancel your booking, to allow others to attend. If you sign up for the waitlist and Meetup prompts you to pay, please ignore this, as this event is not intended to be paid for.**
Looking forward to seeing all of you there!

Come on a Journey of Self-Discovery
Are you looking for something different, if so, I would like to invite you to come on a healing journey to discover peace and harmony within yourself and life.
If this is of interest to you, the first class is free, as it's an introduction to the explorations of mindfulness/meditation with a spiritual flavour. If you choose to return (no obligation), then a small amount is asked of $5 per class.
What a wonderful opportunity to explore your physical, emotional, mental and soul bodies and how they are all inter-related and all can be greatly affected with the stresses and challenges of everyday life.
Through engaging with an energetic hygiene process that I facilitate, you will be able to cleanse your energy field on a daily basis.
With the event/class there is a variety being presented each week, always a guided meditation, followed by either reflection on self-care through working with a variety of gentle approach resources (which will be given to you to take, if you choose), as well as, listening to different short mindfulness cds.
All you need to bring is yourself and a crystal, if you like.

Choose Your Movie: THE SHEEP DETECTIVES vs HOKUM at Cinemark Stoneridge!
Join us as we get together to see your choice of two VERY different movies – one sweet and wholesome – the other a terrifying folklore horror! Option 1 is the fun whodunnit-action-comedy-mystery led by Hugh Jackman, THE SHEEP DETECTIVES! Option 2 is the top-reviewed supernatural-horror-thriller starring Adam Scott, HOKUM! Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
THE SHEEP DETECTIVES: Every night a shepherd reads aloud a murder mystery, pretending his sheep can understand. When he is found dead, the sheep realize at once that it was a murder and think they know everything about how to go about solving it. The film is directed by Kyle Balda and take a look at this ensemble cast: Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Braun, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau and Emma Thompson and the voices of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O'Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, Brett Goldstein and Rhys Darby. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyZI5oM6hWk
HOKUM: In this film, a horror writer visits an Irish inn to scatter his parents' ashes, unaware the property is said to be haunted by a witch. It is written/directed by Damian McCarthy stars Adam Scott, Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh and Austin Amelio. Hokum premiered to rave reviews at this year’s SXSW Festival and is being release by Neon. It is earning a stellar 97% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which calls it, “A classic haunted house story enriched with atmospheric folklore and perfectly-timed shocks!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVCIK_MPyhc
PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing of both films and will meet inside the theater lobby about 20 minutes before showtime. If the showtimes work out, we’ll try to get both groups together for a bite before the shows! Complete details and showtime will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer.
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

In-Person Event: The Answers to Depression & Anxiety
This is an in-person meeting. At this meeting you will get answers to depression and anxiety. Find out the source of them and how to get rid of them.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like anxiety, depression, unhappiness, loneliness, hopelessness, anger, fear, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not due to a chemical imbalance in your brain from some nebulous chemical reaction "by chance".
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.
This group is created by the Hubbard Dianetics Foundation of Central Ohio and Church of Scientology of Central Ohio.
