Letting Love Lead: Navigating Grief with an Open Heart with Diane Haworth
Letting Love Lead: Navigating Grief with an Open Heart with Diane Haworth
Join us in a space of compassion where grief is honored rather than fixed, and love is welcomed as a steady companion. Grief touches us all, through the loss of a loved one, a life chapter, or the future we once imagined. In this gentle, heart-centered workshop, Diane L. Haworth invites participants into a compassionate space where grief is honored rather than fixed, and love is welcomed as a steady companion. Drawing from her own lived experience following the unexpected death of her husband, Diane shares how choosing love over fear supported her through profound loss. And how that enabled her to support her family through the experience. Participants will be guided through reflection, a simple experiential exercise, and quiet connection, allowing each person to meet their grief in their own way and at their own pace. This workshop emphasizes presence over teaching, offering a supportive environment where participants can breathe, reflect, and remember how love has held them, past and present. ***Diane L Haworth*** *is a Heart-Centered Success Coach, teacher, author, and founder of the Be Love Principles. Wednesday evening Mindfulness at Unity of Gaithersburg.
Wednesday evening Mindfulness at Unity of Gaithersburg.
Mindfulness Meditation group practice every Wednesday evening at Unity of Gaithersburg. Mindfulness practice is not about achieving some special state of mind; it is more about noticing the experience you are having without trying to change it. This interesting video suggests why you might sit and watch your mind wander off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmmBF8eTl18 This noticing tends to shift your nervous system from a 'fight-or-flight' state to a more relaxed and receptive state. In this receptive mental state, you begin to see your own experience differently and, over time, see other people and the world differently. Also, it is good for you: "the effect of regular meditation on the cortex was so profound that fifty-year-old meditators had a prefrontal cortex that looked like that of a twenty-five-year-old" [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PLRZVTT](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PLRZVTT) Here is an interesting and funny take on meditation by Ajahn Brahm: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR60RRmXeYs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR60RRmXeYs). If you arrive on time, there will be an introduction at the beginning, if you arrive late, find a chair and join us. There will be some discussion after. This is a free event, but contributions to the church's expenses are welcome. You can just show up this Wednesday or subsequent Wednesdays. 🌿 Soothing Sound Bath with Tina!🌿
🌿 Soothing Sound Bath with Tina!🌿
**🌿 Soothing Sound Bath — A Quiet Space to Rest & Reset** (People-only experience) This people-only sound bath offers a gentle space to slow down and take a moment just for yourself. While Hoofs & Woofs often includes animal-centered experiences, this gathering is intentionally focused on supporting human rest and regulation. The sound bath will take place in a small, intimate group setting, creating a calm and supportive environment. Mats and blankets will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring anything that supports your sound journey—such as an eye mask, small pillow, or another comfort item. The session will include carefully selected sounds intended to support relaxation, grounding, and nervous system regulation. Sound may move through different energetic centers of the body (often referred to as chakras), with the intention of encouraging balance, ease, and presence. Everyone experiences sound differently. Some people feel deeply relaxed or grounded, some may notice emotional release, and others may drift into sleep. All experiences are normal and welcome. This is a quiet, inward experience and may not be the right fit for everyone. What to expect: * A calm, quiet, people-only environment * A small group for a more personal and supportive experience * Gentle sound that supports relaxation, grounding, and energetic balance * Space to settle in, rest, and leave feeling more at ease Cost: $45 per person A waiver will be required prior to participation. Hosted by Hoofs & Woofs Masseuse Meet Tina McKevitt Certified Equine & Canine Massage Therapist, Animal Reiki Practitioner, and Owner of "Hoofs & Woofs Masseuse" From a young age, Tina felt a deep connection with animals—whether it was her own pets, the horses she rode, or animals in the wild. Being around them has always brought her a sense of peace, and throughout her life, animals have healed her in so many ways. It felt only natural to want to give that same care back to them. As Tina watched many of her pets age, all she wanted was to help them feel more comfortable and supported. That desire is what inspired her to start Hoofs & Woofs Masseuse. She feels truly blessed to now be offering her services and to give back to the fur babies who give us so much every day. At Hoofs & Woofs Masseuse, Tina believes in promoting the health and well-being of your furry companions through specialized sports massage therapy, including equine massage therapy for horses and canine massage services for dogs. Her holistic approach not only focuses on relaxation and recovery but also incorporates elements like Animal Reiki to enhance overall wellness. She aims to reduce muscle tension, improve flexibility and range of motion, accelerate the healing of injuries, and provide stress relief for your beloved pets.
