This is a \~ 7 mile hike with \~100 feet of elevation gain in Algonkian Regional Park. We'll start on the Potomac Heritage Trail (PHT) and hike downstream to the Algonkian Nature Sanctuary where we'll make a loop and then return to the start point. The Algonkian Regional Park Sanctuary consists of 30+ acres of wetlands on Lowe's Island adjacent to the Potomac River. The wetlands are a unique part of the Potomac that supports a variety of flora and fauna including Bald Eagles. There will be some hiking along the Potomac River, the golf course and recreation areas. We will start on the PHT near the parking lot at Volcano Island Waterpark in Algonkian Regional Park (GPS coordinates: 39.061784, -77.386796). Some of the hike is on trails, pavement and gravel road. We hike at a pace of 2.5 to 3.0 mph while moving. Dogs are welcome on this hike in accordance with the NVHC Dog Policy. **Feminists unite**! *Join us for the very first meeting of ClubFeminist.* This inaugural gathering will be an opportunity for founding members (you!) to meet, get to know one another, and begin an open conversation about feminism, gender expectations, and what equality means in our lives today. This first event will focus on creating a welcoming space for thoughtful dialogue. We’ll introduce the vision for ClubFeminist, hear from attendees about what topics matter most to them, and discuss the kinds of conversations and events we’d like to build together. **Some questions we may explore:** • What does feminism mean to you? • What challenges do women still face today? • How can men be better allies in advancing equality? • What kinds of conversations or activities would you like this group to host? This is a **founding meeting**, so your voice will help shape the direction of the group moving forward. I started this group because I was surprised a space like this didn’t already exist locally. Conversations about equality feel more important than ever, and this group is meant to be a place where they can happen openly and thoughtfully. The pickleball courts are situated on the far side of the playground, past the swing sets and picnic area. These courts (are] strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, and we do not offer reservation for public use. The courts are frequently unoccupied, but sometimes few people utilize the courts. Please join us the 3rd Wednesday of each month to learn more about the Columbus Ski Club and what we have to offer. Pizza, wings and a variety of appetizers provided. We are a non-profit organization founded in 1958 with over 800 members. The club has grown beyond the single mission of providing members with not only quality skiing events but also year round social and sport activities. Our gatherings are an opportunity for members and non-members to interact and learn about the many activities offered such as euchre, billiards, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, bowling, golf & softball leagues along with ski and non-ski trips. Our members also plan group activities such as visits to wine tastings, bike trips, comedy clubs, concerts, plays and local sports games, etc. CSC membership is not required to belong to the Meetup group. Membership is required in order to participate in most club activities (CSC member). However, anyone (21 and over) is welcome at our meeting gatherings which consist of checking out our current activities and socializing.
