The Single Adult Ministry of Our Lady of the Fields invites you to join us for a tour of the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in Washington DC. on June 7, 2026. We will meet at OLF parking lot in the back to carpool at 9:15. We will leave at 9:30 to drive to the Monastery. All are welcome to attend the 11am Mass. The narrow fairways make it a challenge for beginners and intermediate golfers alike. There is a lighted driving range with 40 hitting stations, a practice bunker and an 8000 sq. ft. putting green. Starting Play: Each point begins with both teams lining up on the front of opposite end zone lines. The defense throws ("pulls") the disc to the offense. 2. Scoring: Each time the offense catches a pass in the defense's end zone, the offense scores a point. The teams switch direction after every goal, and the next point begins with a new pull by the team that just scored. 3. Movement of the Disc: The disc may be advanced in any direction by completing a pass to a teammate. Players may not run with the disc. The person with the disc ("thrower") has ten seconds to throw the disc. The defender guarding the thrower ("marker") counts out the stall count. 4. Change of Possession: When a pass is not completed (e.g. out of bounds, drop, block, interception, stalled), the defense immediately takes possession of the disc and becomes the offense. 5. Substitutions: Players not in the game may replace players in the game after a score and during an injury timeout. (Modified depending on the number of the attendees) 6. Non-contact: Players must attempt to avoid physical contact during play. Picks and screens are also prohibited. 7. Fouls: When a player initiates contact that affects the play, a foul occurs. When a foul causes a player to lose possession, the play resumes as if the possession was retained. If the player that the foul was called against disagrees with the foul call, the play is redone. 8. Self-Officiating: Players are responsible for their own foul and line calls. The host will also step in if it is needed. A basic knowledge and skill in Euchre is required. You don't need to be an expert to play at the tournament as people of all skill levels are playing. * If you consider yourself a good euchre player and haven't played with us before you are welcome to come. * We play stick the dealer and no steal the deal. * We only play 8 hands (every person gets to deal twice); this is standard Progressive Tournament play. * Your score and the score of the other team is recorded on your scorecard. * We don't play to a score of 10. Whatever score you have at the end of 8 hands gets recorded. * After game 5 we will have a brief intermission. * If the "sitting out" table has 3 people at it, we still have to figure out the proper rotation technique (TBD). * Tournament rules will be handed out before the beginning of play and each table will enforce them. This clinic is designed for **adult beginners** who are stepping onto the court for the first time (or returning after a long break) and want to build real skills from the ground up. Sessions are led by **Coach Yiran**, a former nationally ranked junior (No. 89 in the US 16s), collegiate player at Carnegie Mellon University, and current NTRP 5.0C on USTA record and Coach **Shawn**, USTA 4.5 player with PTR L1 certified. Coach Yiran's teaching philosophy is built on **efficiency and clarity** — no overwhelming technical jargon, just clean fundamentals that actually stick. You'll learn how to move, how to hit, and how to think on the court from day one. Expect a supportive, structured environment where every drill has a purpose and every session builds on the last. Whether you've never held a racket or just need a proper foundation, this is your starting point. We have two adult beginner lesson this Sunday, 8:00AM- 9:30AM, price are all 45$ for 1.5 hour.
