Before J&P: Hot Streak
Hot Streak (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/446497/hot-streak) is a sophisticated game of manipulating odds, judging calculated bets and resolving complex... ah, who are we kidding? It's a game where we all crowd round and scream at stupid oversized mascots as they blunder along a racetrack, bumping into each other, falling over, and generally getting confused. Strike it lucky, go home fabulously wealthy, then come back tomorrow and lose it all again.

Cinema Galeries : La Plaga
**Cinema Galeries : La Plaga**
12/03 @ 19h00
[...]
The film is a combination of fiction and reality, which deals with the impact of the economic crisis. âLa Plagaâ tells the story of five different characters living in the suburban area of Barcelona that are all hit by the consequences of the economic crisis. For more than four years BallĂșs worked together with these characters with the aim of showing their fight for survival in times of economic depression. For that reason, she has painted a portrait of the lives of five people living on the outskirts of a city, fields, streets or industrial parks. The movie tells the story of five apparently independent people, who end up connected to each other. Iurie, a Moldavian wrestler, works for the farmer RaĂŒl, who has big crop failures because of a plague of insects. The third is his neighbour Maria, who has to move to a retirement home, because of health problems. There she gets to know the Filipino elderly care nurse Rosemarie, who walks a cart-track every day to come to work where she always passes Maribel on a beach chair. Maribel tries to earn her living as a prostitute so she and her unemployed son can get by.
BallĂșs explains that the film is based on true life stories, real emotions, situations and genuine characters. However nevertheless the director points out that âLa Plaga is more of a composition than truth. The word documentary has high brow connotations, but it means not being manipulated or constructed. But for me everything in a film is constructed and manipulated, so it is more a film than a documentary.â BallĂșsâ movie wants to reflect the current critical situation in Catalonia, Spain and Europe. âWe are all living in a situation of uncertainty about the future, a feeling of being lost in the system and excluded by politicians.â The film shows the difficult and unfortunate situation of five different people, but despite lifeâs hardships how they can handle their daily life and this is a big strength. Thatâs why BallĂșs wanted to present her story in this film, because these characters are real heroes of everyday life.

Loop around Aywaille via Misery Brewery (25 km)
This Sunday, we'll be off for a loop from Aywaille, with a little stop at a brewery on the way. We start from Aywaille going south and up into the hills. The path will first take us first through some forest before the landscape opens up and we will pass fields and some villages on the way. After about two hours, we will reach the manor house where the Misery Beer Co is located (https://www.miserybeerco.be). If they are nice people and let us have our sandwiches there, we will use this as our lunch break spot (possibility to buy drinks). We continue the hike through Harze with its impressive chateau before finally descending back into Aywaille, where we will find a bar for our final drink.
Please note that trains back are only every two hours. I expect to be in Aywaille in time for the 17.23 train, but no guarantee, and I will not break into a run to make that train. So please do not sign up if you need to be back at a specific time, or unless you are prepared to break from the group and rush ahead by yourself.
As the number of participants is limited, it is important that you manage your registration responsibly: only sign up if you really intend to come and cancel as soon as you know you canât (this also goes for people on the waiting list!).
We will try to keep close to an average speed of about 4.5 km/h. We will walk mainly on unpaved roads. Iâve not tested this track beforehand, so itâs possible that there are some mistakes in the planning (i.e. it may become longer ;-).
ââYou can find the gpx track here:
**Wikilocs:** https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/wanderung-nach-misery-beer-company-253702625
**Komoot**: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/2514955856?share_token=arLuZVmmkV1kzNNR4jHlohEhhLyVIZLLMwMTJdx5tlq9DFJOTB&ref=wtd
ââMeeting point:
We meet at 8h45 in the main hall of Gare Central, in front of Starbucks. Our train (IC507 to Eupen) leaves at 9.01. We change train in Liege (10.07 IC5310 to Troisviege) and arrive in Aywaille at 10.40.
ââ Train tickets:
BXL-Aywaille 14.90âŹ/9.00⏠with train+ each way
ââ Back to Brussels:
From Aywaille there are trains only every two hours. I will aim to get the one at 17.23, but no guarantees! The next would be 19.23.
ââ Specifics:
Distance: ca 25 km
Elevation gain: around 500m
Net walking time: ca 6 h
Weather forecast: undecided, but not horrible
In the unlikely case of too bad weather, we may cancel a hike, even few hours before the event. If this must happen, we will of course update the Meetup website and send out an email to those registered. So it is important to have access to either the Meetup.com website and/or your emails.
ââ What to bring:
* Comfortable hiking clothes &shoes
* rain gear (just in case)
* water and drink for the breaks
* Compeed for blisters
* some small money for drinks
ââ Basic rules:
Please RSVP only if you really intend to come. And if your plans change, update your RSVP asap, even hours before the walk. This is basic courtesy towards others. Repeated late cancellations are not well considered (at all). No-shows are even worse.
Do not show up for a hike unless you are on the âgoingâ list.
ââ Acknowledgement of member responsibility and release of liability:
You are responsible for yourself and should be fit enough if you want to take part. As the participation in the events is strictly voluntary and you freely choose to join, it is the responsibility of individuals participating to ensure that they are fit enough and have adequate coverage to protect themselves. By signing up for this event, you agree to release the organisers from any responsibility and liability.
Brussels Bouldering - Arkose Canal
Hi everyone.
Whether you're a seasoned climber or a beginner looking to try something new, this event is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself and meet like-minded individuals. After the climb, stick around and grab a snack or a drink with the others and talk about the sweet smell of chalk on your hands or brag about the amount of times you fell on the soft mattress ;p
**Practical info**
Location: Arkose Canal.
Address: Rue Willy de Bruyn Straat 52, 1000 Brussels
First time at Arkose? Entry & rental shoes for âŹ10 via the website: [https://arkose.com/en/canal?lang=en](https://arkose.com/en/canal?lang=en)
I will meet you at 12pm inside in the gym hall. If you are joining later, change and meet us inside. I am easy to find. Or send me a message.
Silent Walk in the ForĂȘt de Soignes
We will be walking through the forest for a little over 1 1/2 hours, silently, just noticing the world around us and inside us. The idea is to experience the magic of a different type of walking, The invitation is to slow down and notice what is going on inside you and around you.
Very often people experience a closer connection with nature and with self, with sometimes surprising insights.
*Please make sure you are fit enough to go the 4.5 km distance. We will be walking slowly, but we will not take any breaks.*
We will be meeting at the Hermann Debroux Metro at **14h**. (Exit straight ahead after leaving the platform--on the Loxam side).
If you RSVP as coming, please be on time. We will be starting our walk from there 5 min. after the hour sharp.
There is the renovated Maison de Prieur at the exit of the forest where we could gather for a drink or a meal after our walk, depending on what you feel like.
Looking forward to an inward adventure? Come and join us on **Saturday, March 14, at 14h**
My phone number is 0472 92 11 76, in case you need to communicate with me.
Intervals Workout Session đđ»ââïžđđŒââïžđđ» Bois de la Cambre
We do cycles of 4-6 weeks, with a progressive intensity, and the last session is lighter.
Program:
15â warm up
**To be defined**
Cool down to get back to the starting point⊠or more
S=All out sprint
RF = Run fast, at MAS (Maximum aerobic speed)
CF = Run comfortably fast (1h threshold)
J = Jog, recuperation
Notes:
It should take about one hour in total, as the cool down will end when we reach back to the meeting point.
It's NOT required to have an activity tracker or smart watch to be able to follow the program, as I'll be giving signals with a whistle.
For the "run" part, you can follow your own pace and we'll be regrouping in the "jog" part.
Intervals training is not advised for total beginners. To have an idea, the average pace at the warm up is around 5'45"/km-6'/km so this pace should feel very comfortable
***Acknowledgement of member responsibility and release of liability.***
By signing up for this event, you agree to release the organizers from any responsibility and liability in all claims. As the participation is strictly voluntary and you freely choose to join, it is the responsibility of individuals participating to ensure that they are fit enough and have adequate coverage to protect themselves.

CBusData - Discover the Power of Window Functions
Window functions have nothing to do with the Windows operating system but provide a âwindowâ to a result set when used in SQL queries. They are powerful, set-based methods to view data in unexpected ways. Window functions provide easy, set-based solutions to solve some common problems:
* Using running totals
* Performing operations in intervals
* Identifying data gaps and islands
* Performing aggregates without losing detail
Many people are confused by window functions and do not know how to use them properly. This session will explore window functions, how they work, and how to use them. Demonstrations with several examples will solidify how window functions can simplify queries and make them more powerful.

ServiceNow's Got Talent
Builders, creators, architects, admins, consultants - come one, come all. This one's for you.
We're bringing a little friendly competition to the Columbus ServiceNow community while highlighting the cool things people have built on the platform.
Five presenters will take the stage to showcase something they've built, solved, designed, or imagined on the ServiceNow platform - and a panel of judges (plus YOU, our amazing audience) will score them live.
So basically, America's Got Talent but make it ServiceNow's Got Talent.
Bring a notepad if you'd like 'cause you'll definitely be learning something new.
Each presenter gets 10 minutes max to wow the crowd with:
âą A demo
âą A real-world business solution
âą A bold idea
âą A UX transformation
âą Or a creative use of the platform
Judging Criteria:
đ Business Value
đ Innovation
âš User Experience
This event is about celebrating ideas, sharing knowledge, and showing how ServiceNow can drive both business impact and meaningful user value.
