Will they be heroes, villains, or statistics? A Star Wars d20 game. **Royal Blood** They are: the Major Arcana, more concept than real. As the queens, gods, and bosses of this city, their power excedes all imagination. You are:the Minor Arcana, as much human as magic. Minor gangsters, nobles and jesters, demigods and monsters alike, your powers are limited to what you can scrape together in a pinch. Still, limitation breeds innovation. Tonight is: the heist of a lifetime, a chance to steal the heart from a god, and in turn, become one as well. Have a care not to lose yourself along the way. **Bump in the Dark: Cracks in the Foundation** Tall tales of demonic activity and satanic worship have been circling in Rutland County, a small mining town in middle-of-nowhere, Nevada. Between a collapsed copper mine, ominous signs sprayed-painted everywhere, and wild rumours of blood sacrifices, the townsfolk are on the brink of either a witchhunt or a collective mental breakdown. The priest is at his wit’s end and the sheriff think it’s all hogwash, so it’s up to your group of hunters to figure out what’s going on. WHAT IS ONE-SHOT SATURDAY? It's a game in which you never know where the next stop will be, because it’s all down to the decisions you and your fellow players make. Usually one person is the Game Master (or "GM"). Everyone else will be players, taking the role of the characters in the game. The players get to say what their characters say, think, and do. The GM describes everything else in the world. Then... we play to find out what happens. The game is a conversation: I say something, then you reply, maybe someone else chimes in. We talk about what's happening to the characters we imagine and the world around them. We also talk about the rules, which help us decide what happens next if the next step is in doubt. The rules differ from game to game: some use dice to shape the story, others use cards or something else. It's always a conversation, though.

BYOBook: non-fiction books presentations and discussion
This is a regular Bring-Your-Own-Book session, where participants share and present to the group non-fiction books they have read. New members are welcome to attend to listen to and discuss the presentations of others. Usually a meeting takes around 2.5-3 hours. During this time we discuss 2 different books, roughly 1 hour per book. Any non-fiction material: a book, documentary, or lecture or a part of it - anything with a title and an author and that contains some coherent ideas. Each presentation includes a summary of a book (15-40 min) and discussion (accordingly). The meeting will be either in a park or in a coffee shop, on HK side. The exact place to be confirmed with the attendees **by WhatsApp only**. I will / have sent the link to the WhatsApp group, please use the link. Introvert friendly. We have people from different countries, so while books can be in any language, the language of the meeting is English. There is a fee of 20 HKD for the first timers to help funding the Meetup membership needed to run the group. Do not hit "Attend" if you are not going to attend. If you RSVPed, but there is anything preventing you from going to the meeting, remember to tell the host as soon as possible and/or update the RSVP - before the RSVP is closed, to give other people a chance to take your spot. But if you plan to attend, do hit "Attend", please :))) No-shows are all silently noted with much disapproval and will be removed from the group.

Lets’s enjoy the cool weather and read al fresco! We’ll get together at the park to read our books. This will be a silent reading session so feel free to bring whatever books you’re reading. You’ll find us under the trees after passing the L shaped building in Tamar Park - the exact location link will be shared on the day (you can also look for a yellow checkered picnic blanket). Bring something to sit on, snacks and your book. **Schedule** 10:00-10:15: Say hi and briefly share something about the books we are going to read 10:15-11:15: Silent reading time 11:15-11:30: After reading chat • If you're late, please quietly join the silent reading session first. We can catch up when the session's over. :D) • You can identify the group by spotting people with a book 📕 PS: If there's a last-minute change of venue due to unforeseen circumstances, the most updated information will be posted in the event's comment section. Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 22 at Streetlight Guild. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. **BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above. There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change. The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/). Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci all return for this follow-up that finds the former assistant is now a rival! Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event: DESCRIPTION: The film follow’s Miranda Priestly's struggle against Emily Charlton, her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amidst declining print media. The film is directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna (who wrote/directed the 2006 original). It stars returning cast members Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci along with newcomers Justin Theroux and Kenneth Branagh. Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games! The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
