While waiting to get back to full health and play tennis, the "Pianoforte in Ateneo" concert series returns this week with Pietro de Maria, a former winner of the Geza Anda competition (possibly the most demanding, if not sadistic, piano competition in the world, since it draws on a huge repertoire and the pianists only know last minute what they are expected to play). In line with the spirit of the Geza Anda competition, Pietro de Maria's recital will offer plenty of variety, as he plays works by Bach, Vacchi, the famous Sonata op. 25 n. 5 by Clementi, two Lieder by Schubert (transcribed by Liszt), mazurkas, ballade n.4 and scherzo n.2 by Chopin. Hello everybody, I usually look for events on Saturdays but I can hardly ever find any, so I asked myself, "Why don't I organise one ?" The idea is to meet at **Next Bar in Via Crema 7** (Very close to P.ta Romana underground station / yellow line) at **18:00** and hang out there for some time. You can also enjoy drinks and eat for 13 Euros (p.s. the buffet is mind-blowing). Guests are required to buy their first drink upon entry. I kindly encourage you to RSVP during the week if you can. We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
