From AI Hype to ROI: LLMs, Machine Learning, and Real Value in Analytics
With AI dominating every conversation, it’s becoming harder to separate real business value from hype. In this roundtable, we’ll explore how AI is actually used in modern analytics (beyond chatbots and flashy demos). Our special guest, Dr. Pawel Kampczyk, Head of AI & Data Science at Aktiia, will uncover where large language models and machine learning make a real impact, where their limits are, and how companies can use them with confidence.
You’ll leave with a clearer mental model of how AI is used in marketing and analytics today. What to trust, what to double-check, and where it can drive measurable value for your business.
The Analytics Roundtable will as always take place at the Advance Metrics office at the On Labs Tower in Zurich at Förrlibuckstrasse 190.
✒️ Ink & Drink: Haiku Evening
🍷 **An intimate writing workshop in the artistic, soulful setting of _Moudi_.**
🌿 Theme of the evening: Haiku.
Join us for a special creative writing session where we will explore the delicate art of haiku poetry.
Together, we will:
* Discover the traditional structure and rhythm (5–7–5 syllables).
* Learn about seasonal references (kigo) and imagery.
* Explore Japanese words and aesthetic concepts linked to haiku.
* Read selected haiku and reflect on their simplicity and depth.
After a few gentle warm-up exercises to spark your creativity, you will be invited to craft your own haiku. At the end of the session, those who wish to share are welcome to do so in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.
No prior writing experience is needed. Curiosity is enough. This is not about perfection — it’s about observation, presence, and capturing a fleeting moment in words.
🍷_ To support our host venue, please order a drink during the evening. For those who are hungry, Moudi’s famous and delicious mezze will be available to share at the end of the session._
Bring your curiosity and leave with a poem (and perhaps a new friend)!
⌚️**When**: Wednesday, March 25 | 6:45 PM – 8:30 PM
📍 **Where**: Bei Moudi am Kunsthaus (restaurant/bar)
Let's meet for some conversation in German.
As it is sometimes difficult in Switzerland to practice high german, in 2010 we decided to organize a conversation group that is free to everyone who wants to practice german and socialize.

**Why Documentation Won’t Write Itself—and AI Won’t Save You**
For the last 15+ years, I’ve joined and consulted software teams that all struggled with the same problem: nobody likes writing documentation, and everybody pays the price for it. New developers spend weeks reverse-engineering codebases, architecture lives in people’s heads, and wikis quietly decay into noise.
With AI now entering the picture, many hope it will fill the gaps. It won’t.
I’ll show the simple ideas that change everything: how to think about documentation in the right levels, how to keep it close to the code, and how to avoid the decay we all know too well. These are the decisions that have to be made before any tool or process can work.
The documentation won’t write itself. But there are ways to make it far easier and far more reliable.

**How to write good code**
There is an infinite amount of solutions how you can solve a programming problem. Some are better, others are worse. The best solutions are easy to understand, maintain and errors are not able to hide. I wrote a book "Software Engineering Made Easy" about this topic and I'm more than happy to explain some principles that make your code better. Most of them are quite simple to understand, once you understand the mechanics, why your code always breaks.
20:10 \~ 20:30

**AI: The Lightsaber Problem**
My talk will challenge the popular narrative that AI fundamentally democratizes power by showing that, which I believe is not true at all. While generative AI lowers entry barriers for basic tasks, it disproportionately amplifies the productivity and leverage of already computer literate users. Empirical research shows that AI acts as a skill multiplier rather than a true equalizer, with outcomes strongly dependent on users’ ability to frame problems, verify outputs, and integrate tools into complex workflows. As a result, AI risks reinforcing a new AI driven digital divide, where technical literacy—not access alone—determines who truly benefits.

Zurich Kundalini Yoga/Meditation (Donation Basis)
Dear All,
This session is mainly for the people who want to learn kundalini yoga/meditation in a traditional way. Traditionally the master will transfer his/her kundalini energy to the student to activate his important chakras (energy centre) including Third Eye and Crown Chakra. The student can start to feel his/her Kundalini Energy is rising from their base of the spine and feeling the energy vibration(Consciousness) in the third eye (the space between the eyebrows) from the Kundalini Activation. This session is helpful for the beginners who want to learn simple yoga-meditation exercises also.
This is a general session to experience your inner kundalini energy. But if you need proper kundalini activation(Shaktipat), then pre-registration is mandatory.
**What is included in this session?**
Simple stretching practices for Hip and Spine (not complicated, even beginners can do)
Kundalini Breathing Techniques
Sound Energy (Mantra) Meditation
Energy Healing Techniques
Formal Kundalini Activation (optional and only for pre-registered people)
Chakra Meditation
Yoga Nidra (Relaxation)
**Some of the benefits of Kundalini Energy Activation are:**
Keeps the body healthy
Mind attains its natural peaceful state, so the meditation becomes easy.
Breathing pattern will be harmonized
Stress release and peace
Clear & sharp intellect
More intuition
Inner happiness
Clairvoyance and Clairvision
and to the ultimate SELF realization (which will lead to the blissful state - our true state) with enough years of practise
**DONATION BASIS**

He teaches Yoga/Meditation/Pranic Healing/Stress Relief courses in various places of Germany and Switzerland. He is the authorized kundalini yoga wisdom teacher from UPF(India) to give kundalini initiations (Shaktipat) with the Grace and Protection of his Master.
All these events are conducted for non-profit purpose. Donations are collected on behalf of Swiss non-profit organization (Verein) "Maha Shakthi Yogam - Switzerland"

**Please RSVP only you are really interested and coming ! Limited Seats !**
**About Kundalini Shaktipat:**
In every human being there is a source of natural energy that the yogis call the kundalini. In order to evolve in the yogic path, no matter what our path, the kundalini must be active.
For most of us, the kundalini lies dormant at the bottom of the spine in the base chakra known as the Muladhar. When it awakens, it ascends through the chakras until it reaches the highest chakra, the Sahasrar. When that occurs, we merge with our True Self and attain SELF realization (our true nature).
Shaktipat is the transfer of spiritual energy from the teacher to the student in order to awaken the kundalini. This process is compared to lighting one candle with another that is already lit and glowing. When the teacher is connected with the fully realized master and the energy is completely within his or her control, shaktipat initiation ensures that the student’s energy will remain active and stable. "Electricity is present everywhere, but there can be light only when the switch is turned on. Similarly the true master manifests the consciousness in the disciple through shaktipat.”
**HAPPINESS is our TRUE Nature, which comes from within not from outside !**

AI Ambition vs. Enterprise Reality: How to cross the adoption gap.
**\>\>\> Please use [this registration link](https://events.xebia.com/intelligent-automation/outsystems-ai-ambition-vs-enterprise-reality) <<<<<**
The speed of AI evolution is outpacing most organizations' ability to adopt it, especially when it comes to integrating agentic AI into business processes.
This session explores **why platform-based approaches are helping organizations bridge the gap between AI ambition and real business value.**
We'll address the most common adoption challenges and what's actually slowing organisations down. Most attempt to build their own AI-powered custom software solutions, but achieving the speed and scale required takes more than technology, it requires a different operating model.
[Xebia](https://xebia.com) invites [OutSystems](https://www.outsystems.com) to share their real-world perspective on intelligent automation and closing the enterprise adoption gap.
**Speakers**
* [Aysegul Kaya](https://www.linkedin.com/in/aysegul-kaya-121a70108/). Xebia trainer, OutSystems adoption advisor & OutSystems-partner founder
* [Mike Kaestner](https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaelkaestner/). Digital Transformation Manager, TX Group
* [Andreas Giesa.](https://www.linkedin.com/in/andreas-giesa/) Director Intelligent Automation, Xebia
**Who should attend**
Business leaders and IT decision makers navigating the pressure to "do something with AI" while managing enterprise complexity, limited budgets, legacy systems, and stakeholder expectations.
Walk away with a clearer picture of what's working and what your next move might be.

How LLMs Like ChatGPT Actually Work and How to Build With Them
**First meetup of the Columbus AI Engineering group.**
We’ll kick things off with a practical, beginner-friendly discussion on:
**How LLMs like ChatGPT actually work — and how to build real applications with them.**
We’ll cover:
* what’s actually happening under the hood (at a high level)
* why LLMs behave the way they do (hallucinations, prompt sensitivity, etc.)
* how people are building real systems with them today
* where things break in practice
This will be a **short, informal talk (\~15–20 min)** followed by open discussion and Q&A.
Whether you’re an engineer, builder, or just curious about how modern AI systems work, you’re welcome to join.
No slides, no fluff — just real conversation about real systems.
We’ll hang out afterward and get to know each other.
From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way.

Using Philosophy to Cope with Current Events
So this month's prompt is more general. I think we can all agree that we are living in "unique" times that require coping skills. I think that one role and/or purpose of philosophy is to help us deal with our daily lives and our "unique" times. So, let's share our feelings and thoughts about which philosopher/philosophy we turn to in order to deal with our crazy events. Who/what helps you stay focused in your daily life and helps you sleep at night. I find that Stoicism with a little philosophical pessimism mixed in goes a long way in helping me deal with what I see as very destructive, fearful and mean spirited public policies at both the state and federal levels. Hope to see you on March 28th!
