### **Private Investor Briefing** ### **High-Yield Property Investments** **London \|** **SIMICO PLC** is hosting a series of private investor briefings in London for individuals who are interested in high-yield property investments. These meetings are designed for both, first-time investors who want a clear explanation and experienced investors who value structured opportunities and direct access to decision-makers. ### What we’ll cover · How the investment structure works: redeemable shares (a fixed term investment, typically 2 to 5 years) · How capital is intended to be protected through property security, including properties acquired for the strategy and additional landed property already owned by the company · The practical process: timelines, documentation, and what due diligence looks like · Frequently asked questions — with time for direct Q&A ### Important points upfront · This is not a “perpetual” investment. It is structured for a defined term (2–5 years). · The company maintains insurance coverage for unforeseen circumstances, and properties acquired are also insured. ### Meeting The meeting will take place on Monday, February 24th, at 12:00 PM at the Chambers of Commerce, 33 Queen Street Place, City of London, EC4R 1QS. Note: To attend the meeting, please call 0208 264 6684 upon arrival. If you would like to grab a "coffee on us" before the meeting, please join us at 11:30. All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 131 / Brief Encounter
All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 131 / Brief Encounter
Brief Encounter is a 1945 British romantic tragedy film directed by David Lean from a screenplay by Noël Coward, based on his 1936 one-act play Still Life. The film stars Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard in lead roles, alongside Stanley Holloway, Joyce Carey, Cyril Raymond, Everley Gregg and Margaret Barton. Brief Encounter tells the story of two married strangers living in pre-World War II England, whose chance meeting at a railway station leads to a brief yet intense emotional affair disrupting their otherwise conventional lives. The film premiered in London on 13 November 1945, followed by its wide release on 25 November. It received widespread critical acclaim, with Johnson and Howard's performances earning high praise, and moderate commercial success at the box-office. Many critics, historians, and scholars consider Brief Encounter as one of the greatest films of all time. In 1999, the British Film Institute ranked it the second-greatest British film of all time. In 2017, a Time Out poll of 150 actors, directors, writers, producers, and critics ranked it the 12th-best British film ever. Please note we will not be showing the film at the meeting. Make sure you watch the film before you attend and then come and join in with the conversation. It’s just a discussion. It’s not a screening. We will be meeting in The Ludski Bar in the Rio Cinema. Young LGBTQ+ Professionals Drinks
Young LGBTQ+ Professionals Drinks
\*\* Please RSVP - this helps the venue plan ahead and ensure enough space is reserved for us \*\* Hey everyone! Are you a young professional in your 20s/30s looking to meet other LGBT young professionals? Then we hope to see you at the upcoming Tuesday drinks! Most people come to these drinks by themselves, and half of the people are first-timers, so these evenings are great to meet new people in London. We have tables reserved on the top floor (loft) of The Yard bar in Soho. Go into the Yard, turn left, and head upstairs. Just ask the bar for the tables reserved for the "Meetup". We usually have the tables opposite to the bar. Many have noticed that it can be difficult to meet up with the LGBT community once you leave university or come to a big new city such as London. For this reason we've decided to start organising drinks for young professionals, intended for those who love to have a drink with like-minded people after a busy day of work. Do spread the word, and bring friends, colleagues and family! Frequently Asked Questions: It's my first time and I'm coming alone, should I be nervous? No, you found the right event! Almost everyone joins these drinks alone and there are always a bunch of first timers. Just grab a drink and say hi to those around the reserved tables and you'll be absolutely fine :) I cannot make it at 7.00pm, can I come later? Yes, definitely! There will always be one of the organisers present from 7.00pm onwards, but most people just join whenever they can. There is no official 'start' so to say, and it usually stays busy till around 10pm-11pm. For first timers it can be easier to mingle if you come before 8pm, when it's not that busy yet. How often are the drinks and where are they held? We have drinks every two weeks from 7.00pm at The Yard Bar in Soho. Sometimes we organise other events such as big nights out, pub crawls and picnics. Just keep an eye on the Meetup page. Is there a dress code? Nope, not at all. Just wear whatever you want. Is there a cost? Only for whatever drinks you buy at the bar. That said, if you enjoy the Meetup, we would really welcome any cash donations to help cover our costs for running the events. However, you will never be directly asked for any money from any of our team. Are the Tuesday drinks for networking? No, the drinks are super casual, and not intended to find your new dream job. We have people from all different professional backgrounds, so it's always cool to hear what others are up to. I don't drink alcohol, can I come? Of course! Since it's on a Tuesday many take it easy, so you won't be an outlier. If you have any questions don't hesitate to pop any of our organisers a message. Looking forward to meeting you all! Xx The young LGBTQ+ professionals team Xx

Scarecrow in a Garden of Cucumbers (1972)
Scarecrow in a Garden of Cucumbers (1972)
Scarecrow in a Garden of Cucumbers is a musical comedy that follows aspiring actress Eve Harrington, as she moves from Kansas to the big city of New York, embarks on a series of misadventures and meets a collective of crazy local characters. Oh, and she happens to be played by a trans actress, a pretty big deal then as it still seems to be now. It stars Warhol acolyte Holly Woodlawn\* and features guest spots from Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin and David Marguiles (the mayor in Ghostbusters). The easy comparison would be John Waters, but to my eyes this looks like it has more in common with the kind of subversive, chaotic early 70's urban comedies made by Milos Forman (Taking Off) and Brian de Palma (Hi, Mom!). It's a rare screening of an obscure cult movie which looks like a hoot IMO, and besides, it was either this or Swingers at the PCC. Anyway, this is a Bar Trash movie, which means a 20 minute-plus intro, an intermission, spot quizzes and an air of outrageous campness throughout. It's not for everyone, but I really appreciate the unusual film choices and passion that goes into this (not to mention the opportunity to watch a movie in a bar). And it's only a fiver including booking fee! Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oZwy-Dc7Hk Tickets: https://www.genesiscinema.co.uk/event/106842 The event kicks off at 8.45pm but we can meet a little earlier, say 8.15pm, in the bar to grab a drink and get a decent seat. \*Immortalised in the first line of Walk on the Wild Side
Hackney Writing Circle Thursday 26th February
Hackney Writing Circle Thursday 26th February
The MILDMAY CLUB, Newington Green Hackney based publisher, Indie Novella, are hosting a monthly in-person Writing Group in Stoke Newington, London. This is open for anyone working on a novel who is looking for a supportive group to provide advice and help to take it forward, be it if you’re struggling with writer’s block or you’re looking to submit to a literary agent and want to bounce around some ideas. The format will be in two parts. The first hour will be led by Indie Novella editor and author, Damien Mosley, focusing on a specific writing related topic. The first week at the Mildmay Club this will be the challenges of structuring our novel and we can discuss issues we face regarding plotting or where to begin or share examples which inspire us. The second hour each month will be dedicated to peer reviewing a sample of our writing. Authors Rose Diell and John McMenemie spoke of the importance of Writing Circles in helping writers develop at Stoke Newington Literary Festival and as such we hope this monthly space will allow writers to convene and share their experiences. Those interested please do come along. We do review one of the group's work each month and we can add you to the email list if you email [info@indienovella.co.uk](mailto:info@indienovella.co.uk).
