Do you want to become a confident public speaker? To connect and communicate better with others? And have fun? Come and join Atomic Toastmasters!
You'll find a supportive learn-by-doing environment.
It doesn't matter if you are an experienced speaker or if you are a beginner. We are there to support you, to make you feel good about yourself and to help you learn in a way that's fun.
Every event we have lovely Table Topic sessions (impromptu speeches) and 3 to 4 prepared speeches.
Through practice, peer evaluation and educational tools, we learn how to present our messages effectively, concisely and professionally.
After the meeting, we usually sit together and socialise at the bar “Le Petit Paris”.

WHAT we play. As you know, we have two events, one more for social games on Thursday and another for **strategic games** on **Monday**. Depending on what people bring, we may play brainy games, not limited to chess and classic games. So, feel free to bring other ones.
And this is only indicative. Some games like Decrypto fit both events, **and if people feel like playing a social game on Monday or a more strategic one on Thursday, they are free to do so.**
WHERE. Because we have many strategic players on Monday and these games take longer, we moved to a café closing much later than the previous one.
CHATBOX USE. In the event chatbox, you are invited to discuss the games you bring and want to play for this session. The idea is to gather people around game tables beforehand. Of course, it's also possible to show up and arrange this after the introduction round, which starts at 7h15.
HOST. If you want to become a host and have your board game event for a specific game with a small group of people or in another place, Great! Let me know, and I'll help you set up your event with this group. Hosts don't pay fees.
TIMING: Because strategy games are often longer, we gather at 7 pm and start at 7:15. So, those who play long games can have 3 hours and 30 minutes for their game. You can come later, but you may have to wait before joining a game.
WHERE. We play upstairs. Ask which room at the bar downstairs.
DRINK. You have to order a drink at the bar, pay for it, and come up with it.

**Are you late?**
Please inform the event host, or comment on the event page. If you arrive late and the session is already in progress, please wait on the side till the game/scene is finished. Wait for the session moderator to indicate when you can start participating.

The session takes place on the first floor of The Sister Cafe. Stairs next to the bar. It's the room with a curtain at the door.
* **Participation (Attendee list)**
The session is limited to **12 attendees**. This is to ensure that the session is manageable and everybody gets enough chances to participate.
Therefore, only the people on the "attendee list" are allowed to be present at the session and participate.
**Waiting list**: People on the waiting list should keep an eye on the updates, in case someone from the attendees' list drops and you get their spot.
**Just want to observe?** Usually, we don't allow any extra audience during these sessions. We invite you to come to any of our shows.
But if for some reason you are only interested in observing and not participating, please contact the event host on meetup, or talk with them personally at the session and explain your reasons. Admission for this is not guaranteed.

**Improv Session Format**
The session is held in English.
The session is divided into three sections: Warm up, Scene games, and Cool down.
**Warmup:** Quick group games are played to break the ice and get the creative juices flowing.
**Scenes:** Then we move on to scene games. These are mostly from short-form improv, which can include different games with various gimmicks, like story building, character work, guessing, etc
**Cool down:** One or two short group games to end the session. The rules are explained by the moderator before each game.
There is no obligation to take part in games that you are not comfortable with.
There can be feedback after a game is played. This is so that we learn from each other and gain skills and insights.
**Tip**: If you are new, pay attention to the regular players when they are performing and notice small details, like how a stage is cleared before a scene, how to enter a scene, and how to collaborate with each other.
* **Who is it for?**
Anyone who is interested in improv! We accept all levels, beginners, and advanced participants
This is a great place to start if you are new to improv. The basics will be explained. We only require the "Yes, and...!" spirit!

Riverside Wanderlust: Upstream Dinant
WARNING: the weather for 6 June seems unstable. In case lots of rain is forecasted, we might shorten the walk (going back & forth). In any case, we will enjoy nature and Dinant!
The description:
This the day for a nice hike along the river Meuse.
The journey: the route from Dinant to Waulsort is one of the most scenic stretches of the Haute-Meuse—lots of green, impressive cliffs, and the river that seems to carry a specific kind of quiet energy.
Following the water’s edge, passing the yacht club of Anseremme, and then diving deeper into the lush greenery that defines the valley. Once we leave Dinant, we walk on nature trails, including meadows with cows.
We’ll have a picnic break at the river bank. (short or long, depending on the weather)
At the end, we cross the river Meuse with the Waulsort Ferry: it is a traditional, man-pulled ferry (passeur d’eau) that has been crossing these waters for generations. It’s a slow, tactile, and slightly magical way to reach the other side. If it’s the same guy than previous years, you’ll see a Brad Pitt look-alike (in his early years and Wallonia style 😊)
From Waulsort, all options are on the table. You want to call an Uber to get back asap to Dinant, wait for the bus, have a drink and/or meal at the bar/restaurant,... Up to you!

\*When: Saturday\, 6 June \| Meeting at 11:00 AM
* Meeting Point: Dinant. (meeting point will be shared with the confirmed participants)
\*The Route: Dinant → Anseremme → Waulsort Ferry crossing, about 12km, mostly without any traffic.
* Duration: please consider this a day excursion, but approx. 5 hours (including a picnic, a bit depending on the weather (warmer = more relaxed ☺️))
\*The Return: you can take the bus back from Waulsort to Dinant (adventurous spirit required, as we'll be operating on "valley time"). There is a bar and restaurant in Waulsort too where we can crash.
