Board Games in Finsbury Park đ˛âď¸đş
**Whether youâre brand new to board games or just looking for a cosy way to meet people, this night is designed with you in mind.**
We run our board game night twice a month, always in the same venue, and with the same familiar hosts. Our aim is simple: create the kind of event you enjoy so much that you want to come back - and maybe make a few new friends along the way.
**Please use the link below to purchase tickets for this event.**
[https://dplsk.eventcube.io/events/94958/board-games-at-finsbury-park/](https://dplsk.eventcube.io/events/94958/board-games-at-finsbury-park/)
**â What Makes This Event Special â**
**The Venue:** Blighty is cosy, colourful, and just a little bit quirky â like the living room of your eccentric aunt. Itâs worlds away from the noise, crowds, and sticky tables of pubs and bars.
**The Games:** We currently own over 50 games, including favourites like Articulate, Codenames, and Secret Hitler. Every game is handâpicked for maximum fun and easy learning.
**Blood on the Clocktower:** We often run Blood on the Clocktower as a special feature of the night. Itâs completely optional, always beginnerâfriendly, and a brilliant way to meet people through laughter, bluffing, and bold accusations.
**The Hosts:** They are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet on Meetup. It doesnât matter if it is your 1st time or 100th time coming to the board game night, they will always make you feel welcome.
**Who This Event Is For**
This night is perfect for people who are new to board games or just want something light, social, and easy going.
* You donât need to know any games beforehand.
* Youâre welcome to come alone or with a friend - either is completely fine.
This is not a hardcore gaming night. You wonât find Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: The Gathering here.
**Price â ÂŁ5 per person**
Your contribution helps us keep the event fresh and fun:
* We buy new games every month to expand and update our collection.
* Any games we no longer need are donated back to the community through regular giveaways.

Summer Social: Let's kick off summer with Adult field day at Shadybowl!
Weâre bringing back Adult Field Day.
Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so weâre doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows.
You donât need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldnât normally talk to.
The goal isnât really winning. Itâs meeting people, laughing a bit, and leaving knowing a few more names than when you showed up.
If you stick around after, weâll have a potluck, a bonfire, and a couple comedians in the evening.
Bring:
* Something to share for the potluck
* Clothes you can move around in
A small contribution helps keep events sustainable and ensures those who RSVP actually show up. Include your Meetup name + event name in the note. Please send $2 per person to guarantee your spot.

Freestyle + Wilson's
**Join us at Alive614, then after at Wilson's for food & LIve Music with Hensley.** We'll shut the doors at wine club early at 8 pm so we can catch a full two hours of live music (no cover charge there) down the street at Wilson's Bar (https://wilsonshilliard.com/events/ ) until 10 pm. We did this a few months ago for "Smashburgers" and it seemed popular and worth doing again. Oh, and the smashburgers are pretty good there!
**On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. I am told that the Chase parking lot is safe after hours.
**Glasses**: âŚwill be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass! (ps - empty the glasses into the sink, not the trash ... please)
**Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing.
**Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, itâs still worth mentioning. We donât have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please donât mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still havenât had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,
**Red 1 Realty**

Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Richard Ades**
**Band: The McKenzies**
**Clinton Heights Lutheran Church**
**15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like youâve seen in period films such as âPride and Prejudiceâ, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. Thatâs English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like âswing your partnerâ and âdo-si-do,â like youâve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alĂĄ âRiverdance.â Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THATâs Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/)
Please bring your own refillable water bottle.

Comedy Night + Open Mic (Bring Wine)
**Comedy Night + Open Mic + Freestyle**: Tristan Shae and friends return to entertain us and to warm the group up for our open mic session. February's Open Mic / Comedy Night was a smash hit and it's worth a second night.
We'll start with Tristan Shae and a couple of his friends. Tristan is an alternative comic from Columbus, Ohio. A counselor by day, Tristan explores how comedy can improve mental health by telling jokes and stories that muse on how absurd life can be from squeaky clean topics to not so clean ones. Tristan produces the variety show Cheaper Than Therapy, hosts the weekly Problem Child Alt Comedy Open Mic at The Attic, and can be found engaging in all sorts of silliness around the city from stand up shows at The Nest Theater, The Attic, or The Funny Bone, to improv and sketch shows with various groups at various venues such as The Hashtag Comedy Club.
Please join us.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,
**Red 1 Realty**
