Rooted and Rested Guided meditation with plants and Reiki Healing
An invitation to shed the chaos, connect with the natural world, and come home to your body and community. Supported by the steady flow of Reiki healing energy, youâll be guided into deep groundingâconnecting with the earth beneath you, your breath, and the quiet wisdom within.
Each participant will be given a small living plant to hold during the meditation, serving as a tangible anchor for presence, growth, and connection. As Reiki is channeled, the plant becomes a symbol and companionâreminding your body how to root, receive, and restore its natural balance.
The experience is calming, nourishing, and regulating, helping to release stress, clear energetic congestion, and strengthen your sense of stability and belonging. Youâll leave feeling centered, supported, and more connected to yourself, your heart and the world around you.
At the end of the session, youâll take your plant home as a living reminder of the grounding, healing, and intention you cultivatedâsomething to continue nurturing long after the meditation ends.
After the meditation there will be tea and conversation for integration.
10% OFF Early Bird Special if you register by Thursday 6/11 with code EARLYBIRD

Yoga Asana is the physical practice of yoga that includes exercises, breathing, and relaxation. The purpose of Yoga Asana isn't fitness. It is, in part, to take care of the body as our vehicle; and although this may include fitness, it should never be defined by it. Yoga Asana practice gives us the opportunity to become aware of the body and the life force within the body, helping us to experience that we are not the body but rather the eternal being within the body who needs fulfillment on a level that the body cannot satisfy. This experience can then lead us to the deeper yoga practices, which are centered around meditation (the heart of yoga) and spiritual inquiry about our eternal identity and purpose. All of our meditation classes are free and are listed here on Meetup. Let us know if you have any questions. Namaste.
NOTE: We do not require masks. We believe it is important to be able to breathe freely while practicing yoga asana and meditation. If you are not comfortable with this, we have links we can send you that may be helpful in practicing at home.

Surya Kriya: Activate Solar Power Within You - June 20, 2026
***The word âSuryaâ means âsun,â and âkriyaâ means âinner energy process.â***
This is a unique and authentic hatha yoga practice that incorporates aspects of yoga known as 'Kriya' (Inner Energy Process). This gives this process a spiritual depth unlike any other hatha yoga practice. This means, as well as the immediate benefits one can derive, one can go far beyond this to bring a true transformation as a person and in their life.
***Early bird offer ends in just 6 days! Limited seats, register soon!***

Regular practice of Surya Kriya offers the possibility to truly transform your life and help you to live life with ease, without friction, enabling you to glide through life. This is all possible because of the way Surya Kriya works upon one's system by activating the solar plexus to raise the solar energy (Samat Prana) within and making a powerful connection with the cycles of the sun.

Drunken Philosophy: Where Is Everybody? The Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter
Welcome to Drunken Philosophy, a casual, curious, social discussion club. Come grab a drink and a seat at The Oracle.
**Optional topic for this meetup: Where is everybody?**
In 1950 the physicist Enrico Fermi was talking about aliens over lunch and asked a question that still has not gone away: if the universe is so vast and so old, and even a fraction of those billions of stars have planets, where is everyone? By the numbers the galaxy should be crowded with civilizations. Instead we look up and hear silence. That gap between "they should be everywhere" and "we see no one" is the Fermi Paradox.
One of the most unsettling answers is the idea of a **Great Filter**: somewhere on the road from dead chemistry to a galaxy-spanning civilization, there is at least one step that is almost impossible to get past. Maybe the filter is behind us. Maybe life starting at all, or simple cells becoming complex, or intelligence ever evolving, is the freak accident, and we already cleared the hard part. Or maybe the filter is ahead of us, and advanced civilizations reliably wipe themselves out before they spread.
Here is the part that messes with people. If we ever found life somewhere else, even pond scum on Mars, most people would call it the greatest discovery in history. But it might be the worst possible news. It would mean life is common, the early steps are easy, and the hard step is still in front of us. So the eerie silence overhead might actually be the best sign we could ask for.
**Questions to wrestle with:**
* Is it better to be alone? Would you rather we find alien life and learn we are not special, or find nothing and quietly improve our odds of surviving?
* Where do you bet the filter sits, behind us or ahead of us, and why?
* If it is ahead of us, what is it? Nuclear war, climate collapse, AI, something we cannot even picture yet? And can we do anything about a filter we cannot see coming?
* Two principles pull opposite ways here. The principle of mediocrity (the Copernican principle, Sagan's "no privileged place in the universe") says we are ordinary, so what happened on Earth probably happened everywhere, which makes the silence scream louder. The anthropic principle says of course we find ourselves somewhere life was possible, since we could not observe anything else, so our being here may say almost nothing about how common life is. Which lens do you trust, and does the silence still demand an answer once you account for observer selection?
* And if we did confirm life out there and had to accept we are not special, what would that do to belief in a higher power, and would shedding (or keeping) that belief help or hurt our odds of pulling together as one species?
* Does any of this change how you live, or how humanity should be spending its time and money right now?
As always the prompt is optional. Come for the conversation, stay for the drinks, and bring your own questions.

In-Person Event: The Answers to Depression & Anxiety
This is an in-person meeting. At this meeting you will get answers to depression and anxiety. Find out the source of them and how to get rid of them.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like anxiety, depression, unhappiness, loneliness, hopelessness, anger, fear, or feelings of irritation donât just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not due to a chemical imbalance in your brain from some nebulous chemical reaction "by chance".
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.
