Zu seinen Schwerpunkten gehören der Aufbau einer cloudbasierten Datenplattform, die Entwicklung KI-gestützter Automatisierungen und die Etablierung von Governance- und Qualitätsprozessen. Zudem prägt er die Transformation des Bereichs durch die Einführung agiler Strukturen. Bevor er zur Bundesverwaltung wechselte, war Michael neun Jahre international tätig. Als Country Manager in Malaysia und Ägypten baute er regionale Consulting-Standorte auf und leitete Explorationsprojekte in MENA und Südostasien. Später führte er bei der nagra ein geologisches Explorationsprogramm im Rahmen der Standortsuche für ein Tiefenlager für radioaktive Abfälle.
