We spend one hour and a half working on tutorials, exercises or projects. If you need help to get started, we will help you finding a good way for learning. You should be prepared to spend your time "doing things": just hanging around and listening might get boring, if all other people are learning on their side. There are experienced people are around and you can ask questions as soon as their arise or bring with you questions you have had during the week. During the last half an hour, we do a (simple) exercise together. We speak German, English, and a few other languages. Bouldering is like a whole body puzzle! And if you never tried we would be happy to have you join us! And the best part is...it's fun and challenging at every level. It is Rock climbing without the ropes, but with lower heights and nice \*soft mats\* to break your fall. :) At Boulderlounge Schlieren we have many routes and skilled staff. These are people in the age group of 21 and 35 and so you will be on a similar wavelength. Naturally you can always choose who to speak with based on your preference! **Here’s how our Fast Friending works:-** \- We will meet at 7\.00 and have time to get settle down and get a drink\. \- From about 7\.30 to 8\.30 we will run the fast friending system\. Half of the group \(mixed gender\) will stay in a fixed place and the other half of the group \(mixed gender\) will be asked to rotate\. During these intervals\, each pair of people will get the opportunity to talk to each other\. \- Daryna will be hosting the evening and she will organize the fast friending process\. She will indicate when you should move to the next person\. \- From 8\.30 onwards we will stop the system and people will have to chance go chat and interact with those they have met as well as others\. If you are a bit shy or anxious then please come early. Daryna will help you meet other members in a small group and help you settle down and get comfortable. **Our venue for the evening -** Oskar Kowalski Bar is spacious, has comfortable seating and not very noisy. We have a reserved area where our members can meet each other in a supportive environment. \- We are not a close knit tight group\. Our evenings are warm and comfortable for members attending for the first time and those coming alone\. You will not feel alone\! \- We have many groups in this city\. Members of our other groups who RSVP are included as guests of the organisers in order to give you an indication of expected people\. \- This evening is for ladies and gents in the 25 to 40 age group\. \- Our evenings are not about 'dating' or for 'romantic' connections\. 'Fast friending' is NOT 'Speed dating'\. 'Fast friending' is designed to help members meet other like minded ladies and gents\. It is about new friendships and connections\. Start the New Year off right! Join us as we get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event to distribute food at the Champion Food Pantry! We’ve created a great little community of Movie Group friends! Rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve people in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: CHAMPION FOOD PANTRY: The Champion Food Pantry provides needed food to neighbors experiencing food insecurity. For this event, we’ll be volunteering to help with Food Distribution during client pick up times. Our group will receive on-the-spot training from some of their seasoned regular volunteers. PLAN FOR CHAMPION FOOD PANTRY: Please arrive by 2:45pm. Our volunteer time will be from 3:00 to 6:00pm. LOCATION & PARKING: The Champion Food Pantry is located at 1460 S. Champion Ave in Columbus. Parking is located in the lot on Frebis across from the pantry. Please enter through the door marked "Volunteers enter here” on Frebis Ave. A map has been uploaded to the photos. IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing the majority of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process. Fast track • Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell). • Show up and try it out. • Complete application, etc. later. Normal process • Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/). • Attend orientation in advance. • At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility. • Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM. • Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895). The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
