Our Curanderimo Elder Ixtoii Paloma Cervantes will be traveling to Virginia and teaching this in person two day candle magic workshop where you will learn the traditional Curanderismo way of using candles for bringing blessings and healings. You will learn how to prepare them, how to use them to manifest what you want in life, how to see if they are working or not, and how to read them in the Curanderismo ways. Important Note: The purpose of this workshop is to enhance spiritual growth and well-being. Whether you're new to Insight meditation or an advanced practitioner looking for like-minded people to sit with, you're welcome to join us at our Sunday morning drop-in group, sponsored by the Insight Meditation Community of Washington. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. Our March speakers are Molly Gaines and Zack Parrish, co-organizers of the Secular Education Association: They will share their story of how a small group of Ohio parents grew into a national organization tracking released-time religious instruction and other church–state issues in public schools. The presentation will cover SEA’s early wins and hard lessons, what we’re seeing nationally right now, and how local advocates can play a meaningful role in protecting public education.
